homestuck 2 isnt homestuck 2 but you know what is? battle for dream island

yeah this is an indie project that was laregely influencial to an entire genre and you can smell its influence in overenthusiastic teen artists everywhere. yeah i know the fandoms a litle weird but what can you do theyre weird kids, just ignore them and their panels. a lot of people skip to the part where the aliens come in but i think that really does a disservice to some very essential character and world building even if the stakes are much lower. yeah everyone dies at some point but they keep coming back. this is actually extremely thematically rich and has a Lot of effort in it but unfortunately that gets dismissed a lot because of the art style. it started as something with roots in late 2000s chronically culture and then BECAME that culture. none of your friends have ever heard of it but every comment section will have a pfp with one of the characters and every artist has opinions on it. yeah no the medium is agressively accesable and at the same yime you WILL underestimate the amount of work that goes into making it.
