i’ve spent too much time shutting myself up and so i make sure i speak up after taking a moment to compose process. i would rather speak up than regret not saying smth.

even when you tell them what would make things easier for them just in everyday situations they just don’t do it.

i don’t really understand people like that even though i know it’s not necessarily always malicious.

but when they do something malicious or petty eventually it’s even worse because it already feels like they have been shirking their responsibilities and consideration of you and it’s like…actually you truly have no right to be petty sir.

i just think that’s the fundamental imbalance of situations or interactions with two people who are sort of opposites in that way. it’s about consideration.

it’s so important to tell people how you feel about them

i love my dad. i do.

however, communication with him is always…interesting.

he has this intensity that can shut a person down in seconds.

he is someone who will ask “right?” after a comment in order to make sure you are on the same page even if you don’t agree and if you have a contrasting perspective he will dissect it. he will say “well no…” after you say something because he thinks his perspective is superior, or he gets intense and immediately combative if you say something he considers incorrect or dissonant with his current understanding about said thing. at least he doesn’t yell anymore though! 💀

however, i just think that our communication and viewpoints on things contrast so much that there are random moments of tension that i really don’t like. it makes me roll my eyes or feel uneasy. because it’s almost imposssible to predict what will make him annoyed.

i truly do my best to challenge him, yet i have been doing that since i was 4 and i don’t have the energy to do it with as much patience as i had before lmaooo

i still don’t feel like im allowed to.

i often put pressure on myself with this expectation that when i want something to change within myself, i want it to happen fast and soon, not always acknowledging that the big picture shows that time and slow work will make it more earned and fleshed out fully.

no habit or long standing belief just goes away in a day and it takes personal will and accountability to really change and understand why that change even needs to happen.

i wish the insecurities i have didn’t exist.

i wish i could’ve the little version of myself and told her that she doesn’t need to appease others or stop talking or dampen herself to be loved. but in a lot of ways i did, in a lot of ways i couldn’t accept myself.

however, integration with those facts and experiences allows for space to move forward rather than being weighed down by the memories.
