Monotype Launches Haas Unica™

Today sees the launch of Haas Unica™ Monotype’s revival of a typeface that has attained almost mythical status in the type community. 

Originally designed as a hybrid of Helvetica, Univers and Akzidenz Grotesk, Neue Unica® was an attempt to create the ultimate sans-serif. 

Unica went missing under a heap of legal disputes and has never been available as a full, digital typeface. Until now. 

Toshi Omagari of Monotype has created a full digital family with 9 weights for 147 languages.

New Year Round-up

It was a busy time in the lead up to Christmas and New Year. While our hugely popular Typography and Lettering Calendar was in full swing, the type world kept busy too.
