whenever i see those leon dead dove fics with incest, rape or anything related, im just gonna block the user. it makes me sick to the stomach seeing this type of content about a character who wouldn't do that.
I repost it yesterday and I just got into tumblr this morning and first thing that appeared (as I already block the author cuz I didnât know that they written about this gross shit) is a fk incest fic.
summary : doing your makeup while sitting on leon's lap
notes : really self indulgent tbh
credits to the owner of the divider!
leon was feeling incredibly clingy today and you'd love to indulge him at his antics but sadly, you have work.
as soon as you woke up earlier, leon was trying to get you back to bed while mumbling incoherently and making some grabby hands at you. your boyfriend is so cute to be honest, but you cant miss work today cause you have an important meeting with some heads so with a kiss on his forehead, you immediately went to get ready and made some quick breakfast.
you ate and drank your coffee at the kitchen alone, thinking that leon will probably wake up later but after finishing up, you decided that you'll bring some cup of coffee for him if he wants to spend his morning in the bedroom.
"why are you awake already?". you asked in confusion when you finally went back in your room with a steaming mug of coffee to do your make up and you saw leon getting out of the bathroom.
"cant sleep without you". he grumbled as he scratches his tummy while walking towards you.
you just shook your head in amusement at him while you went to your closet to finally change into some work clothes. just a simple black pencil skirt, paired with some brown silky long sleeve top. then after adjusting everything, you went to your vanity but you found leon sitting on your plush chair.
"baby, go back to sleep". you softly said as you ran a hand through his hair. you know he's still tired considering he actually just got back from a long week mission yesterday night.
a week of being away from each other, only texts and phone calls are keeping you both sane.
leon hummed against your touch before he wrapped an arm around your waist and guided you gently on to his lap. he squeezed you tight causing you to smile and give him a kiss on his head again.
guess youre doing your make up on his lap today.
with that, both of you just let the silence fill the room while you started putting on your makeup and he's just feeling you up and observing you. from time to time, he takes the mug of warm coffee from the table that you brought with you earlier and takes a sip.
the warmth of the coffee and your weight on him makes him sigh in delight, he missed this. it was only a week but he missed this.
"whats that?". he mumbled as he watched you put something thin on your eyelids.
"eyeliner, its a new brand too". you told him as you finished up putting it before closing your eyes and turned your head towards him. "blow, please".
obediently, he carefully blows on your eyes to make the eyeliner dry. he did it for a few more seconds while his thumb on your thigh caressed the skin.
so soft and warm.
you smiled at him when you finally opened your eyes and leon swore he fell in love again. he watched you put down the eyeliner down on the table and you took another small pink bottle with a circle top on it. you opened it gingerly and tapped the applicator lightly on your hand before closing it back up.
leon kissed your shoulder as you spread the blush on your hand with a finger before patting it on your cheeks and blending it while looking through the mirror infront of you. when you blended everything, you figured its time to put some powder on your face before layering it with a powder blush soon.
"looks so beautiful". he hummed as he watches you through the mirror. he loves the way your blush highlights your apple cheeks.
he watched you put more stuffs on your cheeks and dusting it with some small dab of highlighter. you smiled at him through the mirror before your hands rummaged through your pouch of lippies.
"should i put some lip liner on today?". you asked as you glanced down at the pouch and eyed the different colors.
"sure, hun". he honestly dont know whats a lip liner but he's sure its going to go on your lips, your kissable lips.
you beamed and you took a neutral color one before you leaned more forward towards the mirror with leon holding your hips tightly to not let you fall. you spread the liner with a finger along the bows and ends of your lips after putting it on then you picked a lip gloss.
"wanna kiss you". leon said as he watched you glide the lip gloss on your lips before smacking it together.
you laughed softly at him as you closed the product before you moved closer and wrapped your arms around his neck. he looked at you with heavy lidded eyes but the love in it is so present that you cant help but blush a little.
your hand found the hairs on his nape and you played with it softly as you gazed upon his soft eyes too. sleepy and clingy leon is such a sight for you. he's just so cute and lovely.
"pick me up later?". you asked softly.
"of course, hun". he gave you a sleepy smile and you leaned down to press your forehead against his. "i missed you so much".
"i missed you more, baby". you whispered before pressing your glossy lips on his causing him to hum.
whenever i see those leon dead dove fics with incest, rape or anything related, im just gonna block the user. it makes me sick to the stomach seeing this type of content about a character who wouldn't do that.

i saw someone saying on twitter about a woman who said that her boyfriend was so nervous when propose her that he forgot everything and ended up just getting on his knees saying âpleaseâ.
i hope every writer who reads this makes the best of it
Hope ya all like it, I was going nothing and I started to think about Leon having kids and coming home
The droplets of water forming on the outside of your cold glass were dripping onto your legs. Your childrenâs laughter filled the backyard while you drank iced tea sitting on your lounge chair.
They were playing tag in a healthy, carefree way. Evelyn, the oldest, was chasing Parker, the middle child. The youngest, Alice, was helping Evelyn corner Parker.
You smiled as you looked at your children. Perfect copies of you and Leon. Parker looked so much like Leon that it almost scared you. The icy blue eyes, the blond hair falling over his forehead, he was the exact copy of his father. Evelyn looked a lot like Leon too, blond hair and the same eyes, but her facial features were exactly like yours. Alice was totally like you.
The sound of a car engine pulled you out of your thoughts about how beautiful your children were. You look over the top of your sunglasses and see your husbandâs black Porsche parking in the driveway.
âDaddy!â the oldest shouts, giving up on trying to catch her brother. Leon had come home.
He steps out of the car, lightly shutting the door. He opens his arms and catches Evelyn, who runs to him like a hurricane, soon Parker and Alice join the tight hug.
âWe thought you were only coming back tomorrow!â Parkerâs strong voice sounded muffled against his fatherâs chest, Alice clung to one of Leonâs legs.
You smile and slowly rise from the lounge chair, intending to let your children make up for their fatherâs absence.
âI managed to come back early, I handled things pretty quickly.â Leon says while still hugging his children.
âDid you kill a lot of zombies?â Parker asks and from his tone you could tell his eyes were probably shining from seeing his father as a hero.
âMore than you can imagineâŠâ Leonâs voice fades when he notices you nearby. âOkay, now itâs her turn.â
Like a command to a trained dog, your children obey their father. They pull away and begin heading toward the car to search through what Leon brought them as gifts.
âHey, sweetheart.â Leon pulls you by the waist. Heâs wearing a compression shirt, his muscles so evident that they make you bite your lip.
âHey, youâŠâ you say and wrap your arms around his neck, sinking into a kiss against Leonâs soft lips full of longing and love.
âEw!â you hear Alice say and you both can only laugh a little and pull apart.
âI hope you keep thinking that way until youâre 30 years old.â Leon comments, making you smile.
âThatâs too much, dad.â Evelyn argues, her head appearing above the car door and Leon frowns.
âNot long ago you used to think that way.â
âI donât anymore.â She shrugs and disappears back inside the car with her siblings again.
âThe audacity of thatâŠâ before he can respond you pull his chin so he looks at you.
âHeyâŠâ You say and he looks into your eyes, his expression relaxing. âDont worry about it now.â
He nods and looks at your lips.
âI missed you.â He kisses the tip of your nose. âIâm really thinking about retiring, but thatâs a conversation for later. I brought gifts for you.â
âYou know you didnât have to.â you smile.
âOh, I definitely did.â His smile looked different and he leaned toward your ear. âYouâre gonna wear them for me tonight.â
You blushed like a teenager, that was still the effect Leon had on you even after years. For a moment you thanked God that Leon had installed soundproofing in your shared bedroom so your children wouldnât be disturbed by your promiscuous noises.
âDad! You hid everything!â Parker says. âWe canât find anything, I only found the Requiem. Itâs pretty worn out.â Your son lifts it up and you notice there were some drops of blood on the barrel.
âParker!â You scold him. âPut that away!â
âBut mom, itâs so cool!â He tries to protest.
âYou heard your mother.â Leon assures, you feel his hand squeeze your waist tightly. You could swear your legs trembled. âLetâs go inside, I need to sleep and youâre going to Sherryâs house later. She invited you to spend the week.â
Leon nods and you look at him already knowing why.
âI heard she put a waterslide in the pool!â Parker says.
âWaterslide?â Alice says and claps her hands.
âWaterslide!â Evelyn says and they run inside the house ready to pack a small bag.
âHow long have you been planning this?â You ask with an amused look at Leon.
âSince I found out I was coming back. I need to relax with my wife, you know?â He nuzzles your neck, his stubble brushing against your skin and making you shiver. âGet rid of all the stressâŠâ
âIâm going to end up pregnant again by the time they come back.â You sigh shakily.
leon kennedy would make an incredibly convincing vampire
because he already moves too quietly for a man his size
already appears behind you without warning
already watches people with that unsettling level of focus like heâs assessing ten different outcomes at once
and god â the eyes
those stupid blue eyes get infinitely worse when theyâre glowing faintly in the dark while he looks at you like youâre something heâs trying very hard not to ruin
because vampire leon wouldnât be theatrical about it
he wouldnât bare his fangs dramatically or brag about how dangerous he is
if anything, heâd seem almost ashamed of the hunger
like every soft touch is restrained on purpose
like every lingering glance costs him something
âsweetheart,â he says quietly one night, thumb brushing against your pulse when he tilts your chin up toward him, âyou need to stop looking at me like that.â
ââŠlike what?â
and the thing is, he hesitates
actually hesitates
because leon kennedy has spent years surviving monsters
but somehow admitting he wants you still feels like the most dangerous thing heâs ever done
âlike you trust me,â he says finally.
and thatâs when you notice his grip tighten slightly at the sound of your heartbeat

đŹ Long time no see... hope you're all doing good. It wasn't the best time for me but here we go again. Missed writing and post for all of you, so I hope you like this one even it's a bit... sad đ«
Your youngest daughter fell asleep on the couch over an hour ago, clutching to one of Leonâs old hoodies and not caring the slightest youâd told her it wasnât bedtime yet.
Your eldest, however, was sitting at the kitchen table, pretending to do her homework while her gaze kept going toward the front door, waiting for her father to come back.
You couldnât blame her.
Youâd been doing the same ever since you received a message from Sherry saying that things had got complicated.
Before leaving, Leonâd told you something like this might happen, but he always said that, and it never actually did, so you didnât think much about it and just laughed at his occurrence.
Since the moment he walked out the door, since you watched him drive off in the Porsche to who knows where because, of course, he hadnât told you where he was going or what he was going to do, your mind had been running through a thousand different scenarios. The only thing you knew was that he desperately needed to find out what was killing him and the rest of Raccoon City survivors, and how he could stop that illness that was consuming them faster and faster.
Leon, as stubborn as ever, had refused to sit back and do nothing or send someone else in his place.
He wanted to put an end to everything himself, specially for you and for your daughters.
In the past, his future had been taken from him, but now he refused to let that happen again.
âMom?â
You turn around and look at your eldest daughter, who is nervously chewing on her pen.
âDad⊠heâs on his way, right? Do you think thereâll be much traffic? Maybe heâs coming tomorrow morning while weâre at schoolâŠâ
You swallow with difficulty.
âYou know your dadâs always late. Donât you know him? Bet heâs taking his time.â
You force a smile and try to sound as convincing as possible, though itâs pointless.
A few minutes later, you hear the sound of a car engine on your street getting closer. You donât expect it to be Leon, but the moment a pair of headlights lights up the living room window, you canât help but sigh in relief.
âHeâs finally here,â you whisper, quickly standing up and heading to the door.
Your youngest daughterâs still asleep, but your eldest mirrors you, jumping up from her chair and practically running after you, relief written all over her face.
That changes the moment you open the front door.Â
Instead of Leonâs Porsche, you see a dark green Skoda, one you know all too well, and then you see someone you know just as well stepping out of it.
Sherry looks deathly pale and completely exhausted, as if she hasnât slept in days. You can see how hard itâs for her to walk toward you, how her lips seem to move as she looks for the right words.
Your whole body goes still except for your eyes, darting around in search of your husband. Leon must have come back with her. He has to have. Maybe he just fell asleep in the car, or maybe he got hurt and, before coming to see you, she took him to the hospitalâŠ
Your stomach churns the moment Sherry finally stands in front of you and all she can do is shake her head.
âWhereâs dad?â your daughter asks, confused.
As you already expected, Sherry doesnât answer her.
All she does is finally look at you.
She doesnât need to say anything for you to understand what happened.
âCan I come in?â she asks, her voice breaking.
You grip the doorknob tightly while your mind screams at you to say no, to tell her to fuck off and go away because letting her in would make everything become real.
You donât want reality to hit you yet.
âOf course⊠Yeah, come inâŠâ you finally say, betraying your own mind.
Sherry steps inside but doesnât dare move past the hallway. You notice how she plays with her hands, nervously, and how her eyes stay fixed on the floor, not able to meet yours again.
Your daughter, however, goes from being confused to being quite frightened, as if she already knew what was coming.
âSherry. Whereâs dad?â she repeats.
The blonde opens her mouth, but closes it again when she realizes she canât bring herself to say it.
Youâre so confused, so desperate, so on edge that your sense of time completely slips away. You donât know how much time passes, or how many times you hear your daughter begging Sherry to tell her where Leon is.
âWhat happened?â
You donât even realize youâve said it out loud until Sherry steps closer and pulls you into a tight hug.
âIâm so, so sorryâŠâ
You pull away from her immediately, too abruptly. When you look at her again, you see tears streaming down her face with no shame.
âNo⊠Sherry, donât say thatâŠâ
Your daughter looks at both of you, then at her little sister, still asleep on the couch.
âSay what, mom? Sherry: dadâs okay, right?â
âLeonâŠâ Sherry begins cautiously. âThe FBI agent, Grace, was in dangerâŠâ
She forces herself to stop.
She canât do it. She canât say it.
âNoâŠâ you repeat in disbelief, though the truth is slowly sinking in.
âWhereâs he?â
You glance at your daughter and see desperation taking over her more and more. You donât know what feels worse, her truly believing Leon is alive, or knowing youâre going to have to tell her that heâ
You feel a wave of dizziness. You close your eyes, trying to steady the nausea rising in your stomach.
âSherryâŠâ
She looks at you and, then, at your daughter.
âSweetheart⊠your father didnât⊠Your father didnât make it.â
Your mind refuses to process the meaning behind those words even you force yourself to. You hear your daughterâs breathing grow fast and uneven, and you feel like the worst mother in the world because you canât do anything to comfort her.
Youâre in shock. You donât know what to do.
You want to scream, to cry, to grab the gun you keep in your nightstand and shoot yourself in the head just to end this nightmare.
You feel the urge, but you canât.
You need to keep going for them.
They had just lost their father. You couldnât take away the only thing they had left in this world.
You.
And Leon⊠You know he wouldâve wanted you to keep going and not having those thoughts he dealt with as well for many, many years.
âNo,â your eldest says suddenly, almost shouting, making you turn back to her and Sherry. âThatâs not true.â
âSweetheart, Iââ
âSherry, damn it, youâre wrong!â
Instinctively, you glance toward the couch, hoping your youngestâs still asleep, but youâre not surprised to see her awake, rubbing her eyes as she slowly sits up.
âMommy?â
A knot tightens in your throat, making it hard to breathe, but you rush to her, pulling her into an embrace that catches her completely off guard.
âNo,â you hear your eldest repeating just a few steps away. âNo. No. He promised us. He promised heâd come back.â
âMommy? Whatâs wrong?â your little one asks in your arms, her eyes moving between you and her sister.
You canât answer her because you donât know how to tell her, but neither Sherry nor your eldest daughter seem able to either.
You see as the blonde wipes her eyes with the back of her hand, shyly, as if she was ashamed of grieving the man who was like a father to her.
âThings got pretty bad, so there wasnât much we could do,â Sherry continues, speaking to your eldest. âYour dad⊠thinking about what might happen⊠he just wanted to save that FBI agent, GraceâŠâ
You canât keep listening.
You feel your body give out as you collapse to the floor, dropping to your knees. Your youngest kneels beside you immediately, bursting into uncontrollable tears as she asks whatâs wrong.Â
You canât tell her.Â
You canât.
Your inability to breathe is joined by a growing pain in your chest. A broken scream escapes your throat, and youâre not even aware of what youâre saying.
As your eldest and Sherry rush to join you and your youngest, memories crash over you all at once.
Leon laughing because the pancake batter heâd promised to make for your daughters on a Sunday morning slipped from his hands and fell to the floor.
Leon cradling your daughters when they were babies, and how heâd kept the habit of reading them a story, no matter how old they got, before bed.
Leon promising all of you that heâd come back, that heâd take you all to Disneyland before your eldest left for college the following year.
Your whole body begins to tremble with spasms to the point it genuinely frightens you.
âThatâs not⊠Thatâs not possible, SherryâŠâ you whisper, denial taking all over you.
Sherry cups your face, forcing you to look at her.
âI heard gunshots. And Grace told me howââ
You grab her coat and start shaking her angrily, not being able to think straight.
âIf you knew he was in danger, you shouldâve told him to leave!â your voice breaks. âYou shouldâve warned him he could die! You shouldâve reminded him he promised us heâd come back!â
Your eldest stands up and goes to her sister, whoâs beyond confused but from just hearing the conversation sheâs beginning to understand whatâs happening.
âMommy?â your youngest asks, though your eldest starts stroking her hair, asking her to give you a moment. âMommy? Are you okay?â
âGet out of here.â
âBut, mommyââ
âFuck, get the fuck out of here!â
Your youngest flinches, her eyes instantly filling with tears.
âI want daddy to come backâŠâ
Those words shatter what little composure you had left. All you can do is cry harder and let the grief finally take over.
Your eldest canât take it anymore either. She ends up beside you again, hugging you the way she used to when she was little.
âDad said heâd come back,â she sobs. âHe promised us, mumâŠâ
Sherry covers her mouth to muffle her crying as she watches you, wrapping an arm around your youngest.
âDid daddy die?â
The youngest Kennedyâs question hangs in the air while you, at least you, try to figure out how to tell her that yes, that her fatherâs dead and heâs not coming back⊠not even his body, probably.
Your eldest, however, immediately shakes her head.
âNo. Dadâs coming back any minuteâŠâ
Your vision blurs as you look at her, while your ears fixate on how she tries to convince her sister and herself that heâs just in the hospital and itâs only a matter of days before he comes back home.
Your youngestâs wearing one of Leonâs hoodies, the same one he last wore when you talked about adopting a dog once he got back.
You canât help letting out a bittersweet laugh.
âYes.â
The word slips from your lips at the same moment a broken sob escapes hers.Â
Your youngest throws herself into your arms, crying that she wants Leon back. You hold her tightly, desperate, rocking her as you cry into her hair while stroking it.
âI knowâŠâ you whisper, trying to stay calm, though your voice breaks. âI know, sweetheart. I knowâŠâ
Your eldest joins you, wrapping her arms around both of you. You feel her whole body trembling.
Sherry clears her throat, and you force yourself to pull yourself together. You want to stay there, on the floor, crying, but once again you remind yourself that you have to be strong for your daughters.
You stand up, gently separating from them, straightening your clothes and your hair, and wiping your tears, though you know itâs useless.
âLeon⊠He gave me something before all this happened,â Sherry tells you.
âWhatâŠ?â
âIn fact, now that heâs goneâŠâ she closes her eyes and shakes her head after saying it. âEvery time he went on a mission, heâd give me one of these in case something happened to him. I kept them, because obviously he always came back to you⊠but now that heâs not⊠Iâll find them and bring them to youâŠâ
She pulls a black USB flash drive from her jacket pocket, its edges slightly worn.
You stare at it, then at Sherry, who doesnât seem able to hand it to you, as if doing so would make Leonâs death even more real.
âWhat is it?â
You carefully reach out and take it from her open palm, handling it with care.
âI have no idea,â a knot tightens in your stomach as she says that. âEvery time he gave me one, he told me that, no matter what happened⊠not to open it. You know what Leon was like.â
Was.
You feel your daughters move closer to you, still clinging to each other. You turn slightly to look at them. Your eldest canât stop staring at the USB drive in your hand, clearly wanting to take it and put it into the computer herself. Your youngest just tugs at your sleeve to get your attention.
âIs that really from daddy?â she asks.
âYeah, looks like it.â
âIs it⊠like a message?â she asks again, now looking directly at Sherry. âIs it a secret he didnât tell us? Is he going to tell us there that heâs hiding because bad people are chasing him and that heâs not really dead?â
Dead.
You can see Sherryâs discomfort, and you understand it.
âI should go,â she says quietly. âThereâs⊠a lot to do. Figuring out how weâre going to fix thisââ she lifts her hand, darker than the last time you saw it. âAnd you⊠I guess youâll have to start preparing⊠you knowâŠâ
You nod, though the truth is you donât even know where to begin, or even if youâre even capable to begin preparing his funeral and everything that comes with his death.
Above all, you donât know how to go on with your life without Leon after nearly thirty years.
You walk Sherry to the door. Before leaving, she hugs each of you and tells you that if you need anything, you go and call her no matter what it is, and no matter the time.
âLeon never stopped talking about coming home,â Sherry says, a little more composed now, offering a sad smile. âHe loved you three. Donât forget that.â
Your eyes burn, but you force yourself not to cry and, like her, you manage to fake a faint smile.
You end up placing the USB drive on the kitchen table, next to your eldest daughterâs unfinished homework, and run your hands over your face, desperate. Now that itâs just the three of you, reality is finally hitting you all at once.
Leon isnât coming back.
Leonâs dead.
âAre you going to see whatâs on it?â
You feel your youngest take your hand, and you hug her instinctively. Your eldest is gathering her homework, though her eyes never leave the USB drive.
You donât answer, and you donât dare say anything else the next few hours either. The only thing you do is make several calls, mostly to your relatives and some of Leonâs friends so they know what happened.
You donât bother calling a funeral home because, without a body, you donât even know if itâs worth having a traditional funeral. At least, thatâs how you feel at that moment, but maybe in a few daysâŠ
You donât know exactly when the girls fall asleep, both of them on the couch, clinging to Leonâs hoodie. Youâre grateful they did because you know thatâs the only way they can rest, even if their dreams will still torment them with their fatherâs death.
You donât know how long youâve been sitting in one of the kitchen chairs, staring at the USB drive still lying on the table.
You want so badly to grab your laptop and see whatâs on it but, at the same time⊠you know this is it.
This will be all thatâs left of your husband.
You wonât have anything else about him except whatâs stored on USB drives from years ago.
âOkay⊠Guess itâs time to see what you put in here, LeonâŠâ
You sigh and finally decide to stand up, though you move as if youâre afraid. You approach the table carefully, trying to make as little noise as possible so you donât wake the girls. You pick up the USB drive with extreme care and, just as quietly, head for the stairs and go up to your bedroom.
You sit on your side of the bed and take the laptop from Leonâs side, unlocking it by entering your wedding date while avoiding looking at the wallpaper, where the four of you are smiling at Claire, who took the picture.
You insert the USB drive, and within seconds a single folder appears.
For them.
A knot tightens in your throat, and you feel unable to go onâbut you do anyway.
You click on the folder. Thereâs only one video inside, though you canât tell what it isâthe thumbnail is just a black image.
You canât click on it.
Youâre not ready for a final goodbye, specially not one like this, but at the same time you know that, if you wait any longer, you might never be able to watch it.
You donât think about it anymore.
You click on it and thereâs Leon, sitting exactly where you are now, playing with his hands, nervous, avoiding the camera for the first few seconds.
You notice that even though heâs tired, even though he knows what might happen and why heâs recording that, heâs still smiling.
Your breath catches when you realize that, there, he was still alive, but nowâŠ
Leon leans forward, adjusting the camera before sitting back again and finally looking straight into the lens.
At you.
Your Leon, looking at you, as if nothing happened.
âWellâŠâ
He lets out a soft sigh, rubbing the back of his neck, clearly uncomfortable.
âSo⊠if youâre watching this⊠things probably didnât go the way I hoped.â
Your vision blurs again. You cover your mouth to stifle a sob.
Leon exhales slowly, glancing from side to side as if he was looking for the right words.
âThis isnât something they taught me how to do when I worked for the government, you know?â he says, rubbing his hands together nervously again, letting out a small laugh. âHow are you supposed to record a goodbye video without it sounding like a goodbye?â he sighs again. âThereâs no happy way to do it, thatâs for sureâŠâ
He leans forward slightly, resting his elbows on his knees.
The nausea returns the moment he smiles at you.
âHi. Hey, love.â
Those words break you even more, and this time you canât hold back the tears. They start falling down your face quite quick.
You see his eyes linger on the camera, as if heâs imagining you there with him.
âI know you probably hate that I did this,â he continues softly. âYeah, I know, you always say I prepare for the worst, and yeah, youâre right⊠but this missionâs different. And I think you know it as much as I do.â
Youâre forced to set the laptop down on the bed, gripping your hands as they tremble uncontrollably.
âYeah⊠I know,â he says quietly after a few seconds. âI know I promised Iâd come back, and I meant it.â
Meant.
He runs a hand through his hair, frustrated.
âThe truth is, right now⊠Yeah, today, fucking September 30th, while Iâm recording this, I still believe that. But, if something happens⊠if this doesnât go the way we expectâŠâ his voice shakes. âI didnât want you to be left without anything from me, even if itâs just this stupid goodbye video.â
âLeonâŠâ you whisper, shaking your head through tears.
You watch as he lowers his gaze and reaches out.
You stifle a broken cry when you see the photo in his hand, the one of the four of you from last summer at the lake.
Youâre sitting in a chair with your youngest on your lap, your eldest behind you, hugging you both. Leon is right beside you, his arms wrapped around all three of you.
The Leon in the video stares at the picture for a long time, his eyes shining. It breaks your heart to realize heâs holding back tears.
âThis is the best thing thatâs ever happened to me,â another sob escapes your lips. Any composure you had left disappears. âI know I donât usually say things like this because⊠well, you know Iâm not great at expressing my feelings. And emotional speeches arenât really my thing either,â he carefully sets the photo on the bed and looks back at the camera. âBut I think that today, of all days, you should know something: you saved my life.â
You canât help reaching out to touch the screen, as if somehow you could comfort the Leon from the past.
âYou made everything way easier for me.â
A tear slips down his cheek, and he doesnât bother wiping it away.
âYou gave me a home. You gave me two incredible daughters, and you canât deny it⊠theyâre my copies, so Iâm glad you have two little ones that are exactly like me now that Iâll be gone,â he lets out a faint, tearful laugh. Your breathing falters even more. âI know that by the time youâre watching this, you three might be far from okay, but tell them a few things for me, or show them this video. Tell our oldest to stop pretending sheâs strong and that she doesnât have to carry everything on her own. And to our little one⊠tell her to keep bringing that joy like she always has. Oh, and let her keep my hoodies, we wonât have to fight over them anymore,â he laughs softly through tears. âTell them that even Iâm not there anymoreâŠdDad will still be with them. Always.â
Leon falls silent again, though his expression shifts slightly.
âAnd, hey⊠of course I havenât forgotten about youâŠâ his voice softens. âI wish I could tell you this in person, but⊠Iâm so sorry. I know you never wanted this kind of life, and that it was hard for you at first⊠and, still, you chose not just to stay with me, but to build a life with me. You know, Iâve never been afraid of dying, but what scares me most about all this is the thought of leaving you behind,â he exhales. âAnd, listenâŠâ he sighs, and you find yourself doing the same. âJust letting you know that, no matter what, Iâd choose you again. Every single time. Because you made my life worth living.â
You lower your gaze, crying, unable to stop.
On the screen, Leon reaches out his hand, as if he was trying to touch you. You canât help but to the same as him, really feeling him in some way you canât explain to yourself.Â
âTake care of our girls, okay? And try to be happy again someday⊠for them, for me, and specially, for yourself.â
Leon sighs, then leans closer to the camera and presses a kiss to it.
âI love you. And Iâll always love you. See you in our next life, love.â
