For the person asking if starting as a freshman is too old, I started in 7th grade, my friend started in 8th, and my other friend stated as a softmore. Its not too late, bro.

I'm a freshman and I want to play on my school's softball team this year. I've never ever played softball though. I've played tennis for 8 years though. Do you think I'm to old to learn how to play softball?
haha nooooo. You're never too old to learn how to play softball! Just go out there, try your best, and have fun :)
you're a bitch.
gracias mi amor <3
so the other day i went to go see a softball game. I had never seen it before or played it before. Me and my friends went to play it.i liked it. im not bad at it but im not good. i really liked though. i looked up my county softball teams and they had already held thier tryouts on August.what do i do? i really liked it. Last year i was in track cause i like running but at the end i didnt like it cause i didnt like the coach and i didnt want to deal with that pressure. i dont want that to happen
Okay you didn't have to ask me this question three times. And I don't know what you should do. I guess just play with some friends. Sometimes leagues let you play even though tryouts have already passed
Hi can you post a picture of yourself? :)
Come off anon and I might....

I just joined a travel team, I'm the only new girl on the team because all the other girls on the team played together last year. Coach thinks I have "potential" I want to prove to him I can be better than the other girls. What do I do?
Uh I'm not trying to be mean, but this is kind of a question that really didn't need to be asked. I mean, all you do is work hard and prove that you're better. It's that simple
my coach is a jerk and is always on my case but he thinks im good and im mean im not the best but i dont suck by no means how do i deal with him
Grow up.
I don't know if I should try out for a travel team or not. I'm 15 and I've been in tournaments that verse travel teams, but I've never been on an actual travel team. Also, I like playing softball, but I know I don't want to go to college for it or play pro. It's just something I do for fun. I do play high school (my school isn't that good) so it's not like I'm quitting, but I was wondering if it's worth trying out for if I'm not going to take it too seriously.
Anything is worth trying. Talk to you parents about it. Because I know if I just wanted to play for fun, my dad would be like "no that's a waste of money you need a goal". And I'm not saying that I think playing for fun is a waste of money, but some parents do see it that way. So just check and make sure yours aren't like that :)
ok so on next summers travel team, they're going to need another catcher. I've never caught before. (ok maybe like second grace recreational leage but that doesn't count..) I really want to try doing it, and the coaches said they'd give me a chance if I proved to them I'd work hard over the next nine months before the season starts. do you think I should give it a try? please don't just say "yes, you can be anything you wanna be, blah blah blah", please be completely honest! thanks(:
yes, you can be anything you wanna be!
No but seriously, you can. The only thing that would stop you from not doing this is you doubting yourself. Which you kind of already are if you're asking someone if they think you can do it. Of course you can! I haven't caught in six years and I went out the other day and (almost) owned the position. And I have a bad knee, and weak legs compared to other catchers. So if I can do it, you can too! :)
To that last anon about batting last: It CAN be a good thing! Last batters are usually ones who can get on base while the beginning of the line up can get on base. This way you have an extra person (or run) to either mess up or score before the bases can be loaded for the clean up hitter (4th batter). I've been all up and down the line up, so I know what you mean. My ask is open if you wanna talk!

Ok I have a question... so I've played in my school softball team and my travel team for the past 3 years. Every game, I bat dead last. Some people say this is a good thing cause the coach wants me to be a clutch hitter.. but I don't know. I mean I'm an ok hitter but it kind of lowers my confidence hitting last every game.
Honestly I'm not the best person to talk to about this because I don't care where I hit as long as I get to hit. And maybe you should have that point of view too. I mean, at least you get to hit. There's this one girl on my team who always has a pinch hitter. Seriously, she's that bad of a hitter. So look on the bright side of things
I've played softball since I was in 2nd grade (I'm now going into 11th). Last season on my school team, my coach really took the fun out of the game and made things TOO intense. So... with 3 week left in the season, I quit. It was SUCH a hard thing to do but I felt like I needed to... But now i REALLY want to play again but not on the school team.. IDK what to do... Any advice..?
Try and find a travel team. You should never give up on something that you love
lol do you even play competitive?
Yes unfortunately
omg guys guys look
ok obviously not softball, but amaaaaaazing
I'm in eighth grade and I'm not a pitcher, but I really want to start. is it too late to start? I want an honest answer please.(:
Of course not! It's never too late to start. (Ok obviously if you're like 50 years old and you want to try and get a scholarship to college to pitch, it's too late. But I'm pretty sure you're not 50 and in eighth grade...) You just have to work hard. If you only go practice once a week, unless you're amazing and have super powers, you aren't going to suceed like you want to. You have to put in the work, and if you don't "have time" you have to make time. And don't listen to any negative things people say about you. There are going to be a lot of people who say "Oh you're already 14 it's too late to start pitching. Just stay at the position you normally play". Do. Not. Listen. One of the main reasons a lot of people never achieve their goals is because they're too stupid to do what they want. They're more worried about what other people think of them instead of worrying about whether or not they're doing what they love. So go find someone who knows how to pitch and start learning. If you put all your effort into it, you'll surprise yourself with how well you do.
These were Erin's inspirational words for the day. Go forth and succeed.

what does 14U-B mean?
I honestly have no idea. I think "A" teams are supposed to be the ones who go to like, Oklahoma and shit and play like "World Series" tournaments. But if you don't do that, that doesn't mean you aren't a good softball player. I know plenty of girls who are amaaaaaazing and they've never played a tournament out of the state.
What position(s) do you play?
Everywhere. I am master of all positions.
(not really, but I do play everywhere)
