If your little reflexively says “sorry” about everything, yelling will only make it worse. Whether from anxiety or abuse this repetitive apologizing is a learned behavior. They say it without thinking about it. It’s a verbal “flinch” to try and avoid getting hit, either physically or verbally. The only way to correct/stop it is to patiently teach a new behavior. It will NOT happen overnight. Explain early that you only want to hear “sorry” if they are apologizing for something. That YOU will decide if an apology is needed. Then comes the hard part for you. Every time your little says “sorry”, STOP. Every time, you must pause what you are doing. Gently ask them; “Are you apologizing for something, little one (or your pet name)? Sometimes you may get another sorry. Sometimes tears. You must be strong and gentle and constant. Slowly but surely they will unlearn that flinch. They will come to use it properly. And you will both be happier! 😍❤️

This is so important because I do this and sure it can be annoying but work always helps you can never be too caring with these types of situations
