S.O.D.A. League was founded in May of 2023 as the main social group of bi+ organization Fluid Array Foundation in Phoenix, AZ. S.O.D.A. League has since rebranded (as of the summer of 2025) as an online social experience dedicated to improving the status of bisexuals & those using bi+ microlabels, such as pansexual, polysexual, omnisexual, sexually fluid, etc., as well as those with a more fluid sexual orientation who don’t prefer to use a label.
S.O.D.A. League stands for the Sapphine, Oblique, and Darb Affinity League. We use the words sapphine, oblique, and darb to refer to bisexual women, bisexual intersex (& nonbinary) people, and bisexual men respectively. An affinity league is an organization whose members have an attraction or liking for something, in our case: other women, intersex (& nonbinary) people, and men. And we hope you have an affinity towards us, as well.
S.O.D.A. League honors the past history of the bi community and the legacies of its bi elders, promotes past bi culture and creates new bi culture in the present, & forges forward together as a bi+ community towards a visibly fluid future.
S.O.D.A. League’s soda bottle symbolism represents men, women, and woven throughout history and the world.
S.O.D.A. League is an online social experience for sapphines, obliques, & darbs. Improving the status of bisexual, pansexual, & people with fluid sexual orientations.
Those in the bi/pan/fluid+ community: Feel free to create, monetize, & benefit from all we share.
Established 2023.

KNOW YOUR BI HISTORY:
Yoshiko Kawashima’s life was marked by a struggle with her own identity, navigating being a Chinese princess raised in Japan and often rejecting traditional feminine roles, which contributes to the complexities of classifying her sexual orientation today. She was often described as bisexual, a conclusion drawn from her known romantic relationships with both men and women. She famously wore men’s clothing in public and served as a military commander known as “Commander Jin,” which was a public departure from traditional gender roles.

KNOW YOUR BI HISTORY:
In the first half of the 20th century, dancer and singer Josephine Baker left the segregated United States for Paris, where she became one of the world’s biggest stars. Baker fought for equality in the U.S., first by refusing to perform in segregated theaters and later by speaking at the 1963 March on Washington. She accomplished all of this and more while also staying true to herself. Being open about her sexuality was a risk at the time, but she didn’t hold back from forming relationships with men and women - some famous - during the 1920s and beyond.

Darbs represent a significant, yet often undercounted, segment of the population.
While national estimates suggest a small percentage (around 2-3%) of men identify as bisexual, this number is likely higher due to factors like individuals refusing to identify with listed options or identifying as “mostly straight”. Research from the Kinsey Institute suggests that the percentage of men with bisexual orientations (ranging from those with a 50/50 preference to those who experiment) could be around 12-15%.
