I've been sitting on this incredible artwork by Ainna, since March! Shameful I know!!
In honor of the halfway point in the MLB season and the All-Star Game approaching (GO HALOS) I thought I'd share it FINALLY!!
To be fair, I was going to write a piece for their family outing as it comes to play in another story.. but as you know time and other things push it back.
The Castro/Dalton's time at the Ballpark will be written.
In the meantime, look how awesome it came out. β¬οΈβ¬οΈβ¬οΈ
*their choice in teams are highly questionable. π€£π€£

The sun sat bright in the sky, only giving some warmth to a cold December morning, the smell of pines surrounding them. Ethan found himself in search for the perfect Christmas Tree. Tessa was somewhere else with the rest of her family at a local Christmas Tree farm that was just outside the city limits. The ground crunched under his shoes as he tried to keep up with the little girl in front of him.Β
It wouldnβt be hard to lose sight of her they way she was dressed, black pants, shoes that lit up with each step she took paired with a βugly sweaterβ as Melody called it and a beanie with a white pom right on top.
Ethan knew if he did not have her in his eye sight she would turn and go off on one of her adventures, where he would call out for her and he would only hear her soft giggles when she hid from him.Β
Ethan sighed, he had been bested by Mel more times than he cared to admit. βHave you seen one you like?β
Melody answers him with a simple shake of her head.
What she was looking for Ethan had no clue, they passed trees he would have chosen, full, a nice shape to them, height was perfect for Taliaβs family home.Β
They were all here when Talia mentioned to Tessa and him about doing this when they went over to her home a couple weeks ago. Tessaβs sister was trying to work around their hospital schedule, Ethan found it quite nice to be included in their family activities and memories.Β
He watched Melody stop in front of tree, it stood only a few inches taller than her. Ethan came to a stop next to her, looking down he saw the cold had nipped at her nose making the tip rosy.Β
He felt the opposite of a chill when Melodyβs warm little hand settled into his. βThis one Uncle Ethan.β
The words he wanted to say died on the tip of his tongue but that didnβt stop him from thinking them in his head. The tree in question was quite sad, he tilted his head to the side while he took it in, it was more branches than anything, the needles sparse.
βMel, are you sure?β He asked, she had to be mistaken the space meant for the Christmas Tree in her family room would swallow this little runt up. βWe passed by a lot more bigger onesβ¦β
βBut I like this one.β
Alright.
How was Ethan going to sell this one to Tessa and her sister, he saw a smile spread across Melodyβs little face and he knew that this little tree was going home with them. He could already hear Tessa, βthat little girl has you wrapped around her finger.βΒ
βI guess we could make room for two trees in the family room.β Ethan said.Β
He started pulling out his phone to call Tessa, when Melodyβs voice stopped him. βNo, Uncle Ethan itβs for you. Auntie Tess said we could decorate a tree for you.β
Ethan tucks his phone back into his coat and drops down to the four year oldβs height, sort of he was still a couple inches taller but that didnβt stop her brown eyes from locking with his. βI donβt need one, sweetheart.β
Her little arms wrapped around his neck, Ethan lets out an oomph as he balances the two of them from the force of her hug. βI donβt want you to become a grinch.β
A grinch? Tessa. Ethan shook his head before taking the little girl in his arms, balancing her as he stands them up. βI wonβt become a grinch.β
βBut you donβt have any Christmas decorations, how will Santa find you to leave presents.β
βOh.β Santa, right. Ethan tickles Melody, feeling her wiggle and her infectious laugh fill the air, itβs a quick distraction, one he hopes will buy him some time to come up with something.Β
When she stopped laughing, Ethan turned them back to the tree in question. βYou really like this one?β
Melody nods.Β
βThere you guys are.β Ethan and Melody turn to see Tessa making her way towards them. βWhat did you two find?β
βAuntie.β Melody calls out, trying to wiggle out of Ethanβs arms, before she can fall, he places her down and watches her run towards her aunt.Β
βDid you find it Ladybug?β Tessa asks.
βSanta is going to like it aaalot.β
βIs he? Show me which one.βΒ
Ethan watched the interaction between aunt and niece before they made their way to him and the tree he stood in front of. When they reached Ethan, he heard Tessa let out a soft laugh before she turned to him. Tessa was biting her bottom lip to prevent herself from laughing even further.Β
Ethan leans down and places a kiss at the corner of Tessa mouth, βThis has you written all over it.β
Tessaβs eyes go wide. βMe?β
βYouβre the only one who calls me a grinch.β Ethan says wrapping an arms around Tessa and bringing her into him. βAnd youβve been trying to get me to decorate, so you enlist a child to do your bidding.β
The two of them look out in front them, Melody skipping around Ethanβs tree singing a Christmas song he doesnβt recognize.Β
βDid it work?β
Ethan doesnβt answer her because Tessa already knows the answer. βThis is the one Mel.β
Melody stops skipping and singing to only start jumping with excitement. βI did it Auntie Tess.β
βYes, you did Ladybug.β
βI picked the ugliest tree like you said.β
Tessa slipped out of Ethanβs embrace before he could say anything that Melody could hear. Ethan could only laugh to himself, he had fallen once more to the mischief niece and aunt came up with.
OK I did not see that happening. lol Melody executed that perfectly, even if she gave it all up in the end. This was so heartwarming! It was nice to see Ethan x Tessa back! Hope you had as lovely of a holiday as they (obviously!) did! :)

This was so stinkin' cute! Every time Melody calls him "Uncle Ethan" my heart just melts. And Tessa would be 100% correct, that sweet little girl absolutely has him wrapped around her finger, but so does Tessa.π
I just loved the little twist at the end...Ethan getting played by a 4-year old.π€£ππ€£
Right! Uncle Ethan does it for me every time and with Melody calling him that..swooning and so freaking cute. π― both of those girls have Ethan wrapped around their finger.

βBoys, letβs goβ
I call up to my sons, Mason, and Mickey, from the bottom of the stairs for what seems like the hundredth time. I had a surprise for the four of us, the baseball season was coming to an end and the chances of the Bronx Bombers making it into the postseason were not looking so hot but that did not stop me from going all out.
Oh, and Marieβs hometown team from LA was in New York, giving her a team to cheer for, it was sure to get me some brownie points for what I planned out, I sure could use those at the moment.
Ready to call out for the boys again, having no clue at what could be taking them so long, they were already dressed. Mason, Mickey, and I opted to wear the all-gray New York jersey instead of the classic Pinstripe, something a little different for our last game of the season, so really the three of us should be waiting on Marie. Iβll never say that out loud again.
Turning and taking a step up at the sound of something one of the boys yelled out, my face lights up at the sight before me, Marie making her way down the stairs, a smile on her face, her chestnut hair cascading down just past her shoulders, wearing the classic LA Dodger Blue cap to go with the white Dodger jersey and denim pants that hugged all her perfect curves.
βYou look breathtaking Ms. Castro.β I work my gaze back up to her the moment she stops with a step or two between us.
A small laugh escapes from Marie and she turns so I can continue assessing her outfit. βEven decked out in the other teamsβ colors Mr. Dalton.β She arches an eyebrow and the corner of her mouth lifts in smirk at me, tossing her black jacket over her shoulder before she stops in front of me again. Β
My smile widens, I take another step up the stairs, closing the space between us just a bit more. I reach out and wrapping my arm around her waist and pulling her closer to me. Marie throws her arms over my shoulders and leans in to press her lips to mine.
Returning her kiss with a light press of my own, my lips faintly pressed against hers. βItβs a good thing you have that jacket to cover up a highly questionable choice in team.β
Marie throws her head back with a laugh. βHmmβ¦ says the one withββ She begins tracing the letters across my chest. βGuess I canβt hate the jersey too much.β
My eyes widen at her words. βAre you saying that you actually like our team?β I say teasingly, knowing well enough that she would cheer on any other team before my beloved Yankees, even the one down in Boston. I almost shudder at the thought.
βI would never join the Evil Empire.β Marie says before placing another light kiss on my lips. βNever, but back to the boys, they are looking for their baseball gloves. We were looking everywhere in the room and could not find them. So, I came down to see if maybe you had seen them...β
My head drops, clearly, they forgotten we had set them on one of the chairs in the family room so they wouldnβt be looking for them at the last minute, like they were now.
βThey were down here the whole time, werenβt they?β
I nod.
βIβll go get Mason and Mickey so we can go.β Marie says.
Watching as Marie makes her way back up the stairs to grab our boys, she stops and looks over her shoulder. βIf we forget to tell you, thank you Sam.β
It was the simple things that we did has a family that brought joy to my boys and Marie, even when I tended to add a little bit more to make it more extravagant then necessary. Something I couldnβt help.
And the three smiling faces I saw as we made our way to the waiting car would be worth the little extra in the end.
βΎοΈβΎοΈβΎοΈβΎοΈ
The noise that came at us as we made our way down field was like no other, the sound of balls hitting against the leather of a glove, the music playing around the stadium and the chatter of other New Yorker's and a few transplants going for their respective team, mixed with Mason and Mickeyβs awe as they pointed to their favorite players they saw warming up, of course this was after stopping at the concession stand to get Mickey some popcorn, that boy couldnβt wait.
As our guide led us all the way down the steps, passing our seats, to the small door next to the dugout and opening it, waiting for us to walk on the dirt of the batting box. The boys looked back towards me and Marie, βDad.β βSam.β Mason, Mickey and Marie said in unison surprised shock lit up their faces.
βGo on. Weβre meeting some of the players before the start of the game.β My smile grew wide almost ear to ear at the excitement that the boys display as the set foot onto the field. Marie giving my hand thatβs entwined with hers a gentle squeeze as she ducks her head to avoid the netting and takes a step onto the field with me right behind her.
Mason and Mickey run towards a couple of the home team players they see with our guide right behind them. I could see the animation in them as they talk and get autographs and get ready for pictures, those kids were fast, I even caught them asking for one of the players to hit a home run.
βThey love this Sam.β Marie whispered in my ear.
βIt was nothing.β I reply.
At that, I receive an eye roll from Marie. βOnly you would say that, but it is something, look at them, look how happy they are and what makes it something is they get to experience this with their dad, not the chance to meet their favorite players but the time they are spending with you.β
Marieβs words spreads warmth in me and I fall more in love with her, not knowing that was even possible and yeah seeing the look on her face and Mason and Mickeyβs was something.
I did have another little something up my sleeve before it was spoiled by one of the LA Reps waiting off to the side. βYou know we are not just here for the Bronx Bombers.β
A quizzical look settles on Marie as she turns to face me. βWhat are you saying?β
βI was able to pull some strings so you can also meet some of your favorite players too.β
Before I could get anymore words out, I feel Marie wrap her arms around me and gifts me with a kiss on my cheek. βYou didnβt have to, you know, I would have slipped on over there anyway.β
I laugh, knowing that definitely would have happened. βI know. But this way we..β I pull her closer to me. βdonβt get kicked out for you getting a little too excited with the players and banning us from the ballpark before the game even begins.β
Marie gives me that innocent look of hers at calling her out. βThank you. Mason and Mickey will never forget today, now go--.β Marie gently pushes me towards my boys. βIβm gonna go meet my future husband over there.β Marie winks at me with a little smirk before heading to the opposing dugout.
Knowing she is only joking, that still doesnβt stop me from looking over my shoulder as I head over to the small group that has gathered around some of the New York players and spot my boys getting their gloves signed.
There was nothing like being on at the baseball field on a Sunday afternoon, the sky a bright blue with sparse clouds and the sun making it just perfect. After spending some time talking, taking pictures and getting autographs, the four of us stand at home plate I looked down at Marie, catching her looking up at me with a smile on her face that I return, Mason and Mickey one on each side ready for the picture that will capture this happy moment forever.
Lost in the whiskey color of Marieβs eyes, I almost missed the photographer asking if we would like to look at the picture. The empty feeling of losing Marieβs touch as she made her way towards the photographer brought me back to the now.
The boys and Marie look down at the screen of the camera to see the captured moment. A chuckle escapes from Marie as she looks on, ruffling the hair of Mickey as he shoves more popcorn in his mouth.
Standing next to them, I look down and see our family photo. The four of us standing at home plate with the outfield as our backdrop, Marie and I locked in a look that can be described as loving. Mickey being mischievous, his signature style and Mason the only one of us ready and waving at the camera.
Marie and I both look up at each other at the same time she speaks before I could say anything. βI think this captures us perfectly.β
I couldnβt have agreed more.
Now every time I walk by and see our family outing, it brings me back to that day our little family was happy.
I love the artwork π It's such a cute family picture captured in art work I love it.
Iβll never say that out loud again.
This happened before didn't it? I am glad to see that Sam learned his lesson π
I am probably getting laughed at, but what are Marie's and Sam's separate teams that they're cheering on? I read New York that must be Sam's team and Marie's favorite team is from LA right? And what about the twins? As you can tell I'm not the most knowledgeable baseball fan ;)
βItβs a good thing you have that jacket to cover up a highly questionable choice in team.β
I love the banter between Sam and Marie π»
βI would never join the Evil Empire.β
Like I said I love their banter.
Also as someone who's never been to a baseball game either I can understand Mickey and Mason's awe and looks and I'm also very impatient for my popcorn (btw what's Mickey's favorite flavor sweet or salty?). I know when I put the popcorn into the microwave? I'm literally standing next to the microwave to see the popcorn pop π
βOnly you would say that, but it is something, look at them, look how happy they are and what makes it something is they get to experience this with their dad, not the chance to meet their favorite players but the time they are spending with you.β
This is such a sweet gesture π₯Ή I bet the boys loved this moment not just because they met some of their favorite baseball players but they also got to spend time with Marie and Sam.
βYou didnβt have to, you know, I would have slipped on over there anyway.β
I laugh, knowing that definitely would have happened. βI know. But this way we..β I pull her closer to me. βdonβt get kicked out for you getting a little too excited with the players and banning us from the ballpark before the game even begins.β
I bet Sam was like I don't want to get banned from the ballpark, let's avoid that at all costs π
Standing next to them, I look down and see our family photo. The four of us standing at home plate with the outfield as our backdrop, Marie and I locked in a look that can be described as loving. Mickey being mischievous, his signature style and Mason the only one of us ready and waving at the camera.

I can't believe I missed this reblog. Thank you so much, it makes very happy that you enjoyed the Dalton Craziness. LOL
You know Sam, he caught himself this time with not telling Marie she was the running late. Does he ever really learn his lesson?
I would never laugh or make fun of you! It makes me giddy because I could talk about baseball all day!! Fun for me and sometimes not so fun for others.π A quick rundown on the teams, there are 30 teams throughout baseball in different cities in the US. NY being one of them and LA being another. Sam and the boys are Yankees fans, Marie being from LA goes for the Dodgers (she doesn't know any better) π
Yes! I love their banter, especially when its around being competitive. Seeing kids being in awe of a baseball field and seeing their favorite players is such the cutest thing to witness. Mickey loves Kettle Corn (sweet) but if buttery salty goodness is avail he would not say no to that.
I always and will always love the moments when Sam is being a Dad with the boys, its such a heartwarming moment. You know Marie was not going to let the moment pass up to meet some good looking ball players. LOL! And Sam would do anything to avoid being kicked out from the ballpark.
You are gonna make me cry! First do not apologize for the amount of time it took you, NEVER NEVER! You get to when you can and if you can't that is totally OK! I'm so freaking happy that you loved it!! π₯°π₯°
Same Girl, Same! The writing is slowing coming back.
A few weeks ago I received an ask about doing another holiday prompt list this year, and it was suggested to use the same list from last year as there were so many prompts on it. So here is the list for the Choices Flashfics Holiday Prompt event, starting Sunday November 26th and running through January 6th.
Guidelines:
The fic can be no more than 2500 words. Word count must be present.
The prompts must be used exactly as they are except if you need/want to change βChristmasβ in any of the prompts to another winter holiday that you/your character(s) celebrate, you may do so. (some already give an option, but you can choose any winter holiday that fits your story, or just βthe holidaysβ is fine too)
Any of the prompts used must be bolded. Please put in your A/N which prompt(s) youβre using and specify if they are from the holiday prompt list and/or the weekly prompt list.Β
Use proper warnings/tags for the fics if they require any (nsfw, etc.)
Tag @choicesflashfics when you post and your fic will be reblogged. If your fic isnβt reblogged within 48 hours of posting (because we all know how tumblr tags are wonky sometimes), send a message with the link.Β
Post your holiday fic(s) by Saturday, January 6th (11:59 EST)
You can post as many holiday fics using as many of the prompts from the holiday list as you want during the duration of the event. You can combine the prompts with the weekly flashfics prompts if youβd like and/or use them with other ongoing Choices events. Any fics submitted will be linked in that respective weekβs weekly fics post, and a special post containing all submitted holiday fics will be posted Sunday, January 7th. I hope these lend some inspiration if needed!Β

Ethan and Sawyer answer questions about themselves from this list: Make Me Admit Stuff.
Timeline: Second Year, Post-Attack
For context, Sawyer ran away to San Diego a few days after the funeral. Ethan flew out to CA to be with her.
(Both Ethan and Sawyer)
#3: Have you taken someoneβs virginity?
Sawyer: βNo.β
Ethan: βYes.βΒ
#6: What are you excited for?
Ethan: βFor us to finally be together. No more pretending or denying how we feel.β
Sawyer: βSame. ThoughΒ IΒ wasnβt pretending or denying anything. My feelings for you were pretty obvious.β
Ethan: βYouβre right. And Iβm so grateful that you never gave up on this. On us.β
#10: What is the last beverage you had?
Ethan: βWe went out for Italian tonight. I ordered a glass of red wine.β
Sawyer: βI had a mocktail. Something with lemon and raspberry, if I remember. Iβm trying to avoid alcohol while Iβm on certain medsβ¦β
#12: Do you own a pair of skinny jeans?
Sawyer: βYes. Several.β
Ethan: βWhat the hell are 'skinny' jeans?β
Sawyer: βEthan, they're the kind that I wear. You know, the style that made you curse in frustration the other night as you tried to remove them.β
Ethan: βAh, yes, I have a love/hate relationship with those jeans. But I think I have the technique down now. Unzip, fold down, and peel away.β
#13: What are you gonna do Saturday night?
Sawyer: βI was promised that if I changed out of my sweatpants and went to dinner with you, that I could pick the rest of the activities for the night.β
Ethan: βAnd I plan to keep my promise, Rookie. So? What will it be? Another rom-com, cuddling by the firepit, a walk on the beach? What do you want to do?β
Sawyer: βYou. I want to doΒ you.β
Ethan: βWell then, let me prove that I can be a man of my word.β
Ethan throws her over his shoulder and carries her upstairs.
#14: What are you going to spend money on next?
Sawyer: βA plane ticket back to Boston?β
She looks at Ethan.
Sawyer: βI think Iβm ready to go home.β
Ethan leans forward and kisses her forehead.
Ethan: βThen Iβll be buying those plane tickets. Weβre going home in first-class, baby.β
#17: Who do you feel most comfortable talking to about anything?
Sawyer: βMore and more, Iβm realizing itβs Ethan. He knows what Iβve been through. Heβs was there. Romantic complications aside, heβsΒ alwaysΒ been there. He listens and doesnβt try to tell me how to feel. Thatβs what I need most right now. And even before the incident, he was always the first person I sought advice from. He just understands the current version of me better than anyone else.β
Ethan: βItβs been Sawyer for while now. Before her, I would say it was Naveen.β
#21: Are you in a good mood?
Sawyer: βToday β¦ today has been one of the better days.β
She glances at Ethan for reassurance.
Ethan: βYesβ¦β
He looks lovingly at Sawyer and squeezes her hand.
Ethan: βItβs been a good day.β
#34: Listening to?
Ethan: βJosh Groban.β
Sawyer: βTo be honest, I had Gone by Charli XCX and Christine and the Queens on replay for the past couple weeks. I was in a bad place. But now that Ethanβs here, Iβve gotten on the Josh Groban bandwagon. Thereβs something so soothing about his voice. On the good days, Iβve been listening to new stuff from LANY and Lauv. I have a few favorites from Jane and the Boy too.β
#36: Do you know where the last person you kissed is?
Ethan: βYes.β
Sawyer:Β (points to Ethan)
#37: Do you believe in love at first sight?
Sawyer: βLustΒ at first sight, yes. ButΒ loveΒ at first sight? No. I think you have to get to know a personβs heart before you can say that you truly love them. I do believe falling in love can happen quickly though.β
Ethan: βSame.β
#47: Who was the last person to call you?
Sawyer: βMy mom. Sheβs been checking in everyday sinceβ¦itΒ happened.β
Ethan: βNaveen. To also check on how Sawyer is doingββ
Sawyer: (covering his hand with hers) βAndΒ youβ¦β
#55: Favorite type of fruit pie?
Sawyer: βThatβs a tough one. I love cherry and apple. Not a big fan of peach. Hmm, if I had to pick just one, Iβd go with Razzleberry. Itβs a mix of raspberries, blueberries and blackberries. Though I do love lemon and key lime too. Really anything tart.β
Ethan: (distracted)
Sawyer: βEthan? What about you?β
Ethan: (looks up from his phone where he was Googling Razzleberry pie recipes) βOh, uh, Dutch apple.β
#61: Wear a bath robe?
Ethan: βNo.β
Sawyer: βOnly because I live with roommates. If I lived on my own, then no.β
#72: Ever win a spelling bee?
Sawyer: βNo. Itβs not that Iβm a bad speller, but Iβm more of a visual person. I have to be able to write it out and see that itβs correct.β
Ethan: βYes, I won the spelling bee at my elementary school and then at the district level. I took second place in the regional competition.β
Sawyer: βOh, so closeβ¦β
Ethan: βI would have gone on to state, but I threw the regional competition. My dad insisted on taking time off work to come and watch me compete. He had to work overtime to compensate. It was the same year my mom left. I hated when he worked late. I cared more about having him home in the evenings and on the weekends than I did about winning.β
Sawyer: βAw, babe. Youβre making me cryβ¦β
#74: What is your favorite book?
Ethan: βMine.β
Sawyer: βI canβt tell if youβre joking or not.β
Ethan: βIβm not. But I do also enjoy the author, Dr. Robin Cook. He writes medical thrillers. If I had to pick a favorite, it would be Chromosome 6.β
Ethan: βAnd you, Rookie?β
Sawyer: βYours.β
Ethan rolls his eyes.
Sawyer: βIβm serious! I wasnβt lying when I said that Iβm your biggest fan.β
#78: Who would you like to see in concert?
Ethan: βBelieve it or not, Iβve never seen Placido Domingo perform live.β
Sawyer: βYou need to cross that off your bucket list soon. Heβs getting up there.β
Ethan: βSo are the Back Sync Kids.β
Sawyer: βHa. Ha. Iβve already crossed those ones off my list. Hmmβ¦ Oh, I know! Conor Maynard. His voice is incredible. Iβd love to hear him live in concert someday.β
#79: What was the last concert you saw?
Ethan: βGarth Brooks.β
Sawyer: (snaps her head to Ethan in surprise and laughs) βThat isΒ notΒ what I was expecting you to say.β
Ethan: βNaveen is a huge fan. When I heard that Garthβs tour was coming to town last year, I gifted him a pair of tickets for his birthday. He insisted that I go with him.β
Sawyer: βDid you wear a cowboy hat and boots?β
Ethan: βNo.β (starts scrolling through this phone) βBut Naveen did. He had the big belt buckle too. I have a picture here somewhere. What about you?β
Sawyer: βJustin Bieber.β
Ethan: (rolls his eyes)
Sawyer: βHey! Donβt judge me. I went with my baby sister.β
Ethan: βOh, Iβm so judging you right now.β
Sawyer: (murmurs under her breath) βMy mama donβt like you and she likes everyone.β
Ethan: βWhat?β
Sawyer: βNothing. Next question.β
#80: Hot tea or cold tea?
Ethan: βCold.β
Sawyer: βIβm not a fan of either. But if Iβm sick and desperate for some relief, Iβll sip on some hot tea.β
#87: Ever won a contest?
Ethan: βYes. Many.β
Sawyer: βWhich one were you most proud of?β
Ethan: βAll of the ones where I kicked Tobiasβ ass.β
Sawyer: βEthan.β
Ethan: βIβm kidding.β
Sawyer: (glares at him)
Ethan: βIβm mostly kidding.β
Sawyer: βFor me, I won some science fairs when I was a kid. And I almost won the intern competition for the junior fellowship on the DT. I mean, I got the spot anyway, but I like to think that I would have won fair and square had the competition continued.β
Ethan: βYou would have.β
Sawyer: βI think you were a little biased though.β
Ethan: βGoddamn right. But that doesnβt change the fact that you were still the best for the job.β
#92: Do you want to get married?
Sawyer: βYes? Iβve always pictured myself married one day. But is it a deal breaker if I meet the βone?β Not necessarily. For me, itβs not about the certificate or the title and name change. I just want the promise of commitment. And to be honest, most of my hesitation about getting married has more to with the actual wedding. My mother is a wedding planner, and the thought of her insisting on a huge, over the top wedding makes me break out in hives. If I get married, I want my wedding to be intimate and romantic. I want to be present and savor every moment with my partner. I donβt want to be the main attraction at a circus, dancing and performing for everyone else just because itβs 'tradition.β Does that makes any sense?β
Ethan: (looks to Sawyer) βI didnβt used to think so. But one thing Iβve learned recently isβ¦itβs impossible to know what the future will bring.β
(Sawyer only)
#7: What happened tonight?
Sawyer: "I decided earlier in the week that I was ready to go home. To Boston. Ethan and I are flying back tonight."
#13: What are you gonna do Saturday night?
Sawyer: "When we land in Boston, we're going back to Ethan's place. He's going to make us dinner later and we're just going to have a quiet night in. Tomorrow, I'll head back to my apartment and try to settle into some normal routine."
#18: The last time you felt broken?
Sawyer: "Now. I feel broken now. But I'm working through it. I feel like I'm being held together by duct tape at the moment, but at least I can function. That's an improvement over a couple weeks ago."
#19: Have you had sex today?
Sawyer: "No. Maybe later? I'm going back to my apartment tomorrow and Ethan goes back to work on Monday. I'm sure he'll be swamped for a while. Since I'm not sure when we'll be together again, I wouldn't mind making tonight count. If Ethan's in the mood, that is."
She shakes her head and chuckles.
Sawyer: "Who am I kidding? Now that he's not holding back, he's always in the mood."
#26: Is your current hair color your natural hair color?
Sawyer: βRight now, it is. Iβm naturally a light brown with some reddish undertones. When I spend a lot of time in the sun, it lightens up a lot. But I usually help it along with blonde highlights. When I started at Edenbrook, I was much more blonde. Every once in a while Iβll change things up and go darker brown or slightly more red.β
#37: Do you believe in love at first sight?
Sawyer: βWith people? No. With donuts, everything bagels, and pepperoni pizza? Absolutely.
#45: If you could, would you take back your last kiss?
Sawyer: "Not a chance.β
#68: Favorite Taylor Swift song?
Sawyer: "I'll admit I like Taylor, but I'm not really a Swiftie. I have 'The Archer' and 'Gorgeous' on my current faves playlist. 'Archer' has a cool vibe. And 'Gorgeous' makes me think of when I first met Ethan."
#81: Tea or coffee?
Sawyer: "Not really a big fan of either one, but if I had to choose? Coffee. Usually a mocha Frappuccino with either raspberry or peppermint and lots of whipped cream."
#88: Ever have plastic surgery?
Sawyer: "Yes."π
Timeline: Post-Series
(Both Ethan and Sawyer)
#4: Is trust a big issue for you?
Sawyer: βDo you mind if I answer for both of us?β
Ethan gestures for her to go ahead.
Sawyer: βTrustΒ isΒ a big issue for Ethan. He eventually trusted me enough to share why, and I totally get it. Trust is super important to me too, but I wouldnβt say itβs aΒ bigΒ issue. Iβm generally a pretty trusting person unless you give me a reason not to be. Ethan on the other hand? You have toΒ earnΒ his trust.β
Ethan: βWell said.β
#5: Did you hang out with the person you like recently?
Sawyer: βNo-β
Ethan: βYou wound me, Rookie.β
Sawyer: βYou didnβt let me finish. I was going to say, no, I hung out with the person IΒ love.β
Ethan: βMy apologies. According to your reasoning, my answer would also be no.β
#17: Who do you feel most comfortable talking to about anything?
Sawyer: βEthan.β
Ethan: βSawyer.β
Sawyer: βReally? I would have guessed yourself. You talk to yourselfΒ a lot.β
#23: Are your eyes the same color as your dadβs?
Ethan: βYes.β
Sawyer: βNo. My dad has brown eyes.β
#33: Are you one of those people who never drinks soda?
Ethan: βIβll drink a Coke once in a blue moon, but Iβm not much of a soda drinker. Sawyer on the other handβ¦β
Sawyer: βI do love my Dr. Pepper. Itβs like a comfort food for me. And for the record, I donβt drink nearly as much soda as he drinks coffee.β
#41: When was the last time you ate a cupcake?
Ethan: βItβs been a few months. I think it was at Hudβs birthday party in Minneapolis?β
Sawyer: βToday. Sarah brought them in for Marleneβs birthday.β
#48: Do you sing in the shower?
Sawyer: βOnly if Iβm home alone. I love to sing, but I know Iβm tone deaf.β
Ethan: βI donβt sing in the shower.β
Sawyer: βBut he hums.β
#56: Occupations you wanted to be when you were a kid?
Ethan: βI wanted to be a detective.β
Sawyer: βIβve shared before that I wanted to be lots of things. I went through so many phases including teacher, doctor, scientist, astronaut, surfer, rock star, and FBI agent. But I remember another oneβ¦ when I was pre-teen I wanted to work at Disneyland. I thought it would be so cool to work at βtheΒ happiest place on earthβ and meet people from all over.β
Ethan: βYou would have made a beautiful princess.β
Sawyer: βBold of you to assume I wanted to be a princess. But I know youβre just trying to be sweet, so Iβll forgive you.β
Ethan: βYouβre right though. My apologies. So whatΒ didΒ you want to be?β
Sawyer: βA princess.β
Ethan rolls his eyes.
Ethan: βInstead you became a very successful pain in the ass.β
#61: Wear a bath robe?
Ethan: βNo.β
Sawyer: βWhen itβs just the two of us? No.β
Ethan: βWhat do you call the puffy robe you wear in the winter?β
Sawyer: βMy David Gandy Wellwear duvet coat? Thatβs not a robe. Itβs more like a snuggie. And I only wear it when youβre not around to cuddle with.β
#73: Have you ever cried because you were so happy?
Ethan: (locks eyes with Sawyer) βYes.β
Sawyer: βStop looking at me like that. Youβre going to make me cry right now.β
(Sawyer only)
#16: Do you think youβll change in the next 3 months?
Sawyer: (rubs her swollen belly) βYep, I think a lot will be changing for me in the near future.β
#42: Did you hug/kiss one of your parents today?
Sawyer: βUnfortunately, no. They are both on the other side of the country. But now that you have me thinking about it, Iβll definitely be giving them a call later to check in.β
#56: Occupations you wanted to be when you were a kid?
Sawyer: βEverything! I went through so many phases. I wanted to be a teacher, a doctor, a scientist, an astronaut, a professional surfer, a rock star, an FBI agentβ¦β
#91: Best room for a fireplace?
Sawyer: I think the aesthetic is cheesy, but I do loving have a fireplace in the bathroom. I stayed in a hotel suite once with one of those two-sided fireplaces in the master bedroom and bathroom. It was so relaxing to soak in that tub and zone out as I watched the flames flicker.

So I was wondering if there are any Halloween traditions your MC / Li loves to celebrate. Whether itβs from their childhood or from their adulthood.
If they have any special Halloween traditions what are they? And how do they celebrate?
PR!
I love this question!
Marie, Sam and the boys love dressing up and it's always fun when they take the boys out trick or treating. The dressing up for Halloween didn't come until later until Marie was older (occasionally during her school years) but more and more with the boys. A not so much Halloween tradition Marie showed Sam and the boys was celebrating and showing them about Day of the Dead and how those who have gone are still remembered.
Tessa enjoys a good Halloween Party and dressing up for one. Never one for missing the chance to include Ethan in the couples costume. Ethan eventually gives in to Tessa ideas. It became a tradition for everyone to dress up with the kids at the hospital, which is something Tessa loves. With her nieces and nephew living in the same city as she is, she gets to enjoy joining her family when they go out trick or treating when given the chance.
What are some of their favorite Halloween costumes? The Halloween Costume that will always be Sam, Marie and the boys favorite would be when they dressed up as some of the fish from Finding Nemo, as it was the first time they were able to dress up as a family.
And favorite candy? Marie, Micky and Mason will always choose chocolate, anyway and any form. Sam enjoys gummy candy, don't get in they way of his gummy bears.
What are some favorite Halloween costumes for Ethan & Tessa? The time when they dressed up as two avocado halves. Tessa always has fun seeing what Ethan would allow, of course there have been costumes that have been vetoed.
Do they choose couples costumes to complement each other? Or do they go with a certain theme for Halloween? Tessa tried to doing couples costumes for her and Ethan and once in a while can get him into it but for the most part Tessa tends to choose costumes that will work with the children at the hospital, whether its certain characters from a popular book, kids TV show, or movie.
First... I love how you made these edits on the phone background. They look so good!
Second... Ethan Ramsey, bobbing for mini bottles of alcohol is probably the most genius thing you've ever thought of. How could you forget that?π€£
And poor Tessa, what a traumatic experience. I would be right there with her and would have probably given up apples entirely. But Ethan's response about "worse things?" Ohmygod, I died.π€£π€£π€£
I just love their teasing banter. So, here's some mojo to get your creative juices flowing again because I want more of them!
If Tessa was with a woman in OH who would it be.
If Ethan was with a man in OH who would it be.
Hi Nonny!
I am horrible and very sorry for the long time answering your ask.
Hmm... this would be with characters we already know in OH.
The first and only person that I would picture Ethan with is Bryce. I could just picture these two as a couple. Opposites Attract and Ethan falls first..yes please!
If Tessa was with a woman in OH, its a toss up because she fits well with Jackie and Sienna...in the end it would be Sienna. These two would no doubt be a power couple!
