Hello Tumblr, I'm returning online after a new wind! (I went to the Philadelphia Zine Fest and tabled my art and it was NERVE-RACKING but also a great leap for my confidence as an artist.)

So, with renewed zeal, here are some of my submissions for Dog Bowl Zine Makers Club!

Feral Zine, INSTINCT&URGE - A self-portrait where I explore myself and my gender identity. I don't often give myself any attention, and at the time my mind was trapped thinking only of my insecurities, so illustrating these things helped me feel less depressed. (I needed time to pass before I posted this one. Also peep the sketch~) This zine was also going to be printed in color, hence the major saturation.

Birthday Zine, HBD Mug Cake - I modified a mug cake recipe I found online because I don't often have milk and I have an extra virgin olive oil obsession. I wanted to draw Pez Gato, I really missed him and thought he should make a silly cameo. (This recipe is editable, but make at your own risk and microwave fully till all goop is solid!) Two versions: the print version (more white for less ink usage) and "dark" version.

Secret Zine, Secret CRUSH - Drawn in the span of a few days (nearly missing the deadline) I wanted to draw my girls interacting together. But because of my limited timeframe, I was unable to fully finish my illustration (no shading or additional refinement, just line and color). TT_TT I also sent the B&W version in for print because I was so sad I couldn't shade this in time. I don't intend on finishing this artwork so I can continue to finish other artworks that are currently needing to get completed. (The girls are Hikaru, Umeko, and Kohaku who I ship with Hikaru heavily in my head.)

Meet Mema!!! AKA Megaquirópteros Malévolos.

Basilio "BAV" Aiza-Villa | He/Him | Adult | FTM Basilio Aiza-Villa grew up deeply rooted in pro wrestling culture. After saving enough cash while working at his family’s restaurant, Basilio enrolled in a wrestling training program at La Federación de Combatientes de Oaxaca (FCO). He then went through a rigorous training program coordinated with FCO and AOR (Assailants of the Ring).  He then trained for four straight years until he showed great promise to finally make his debut as Megaquirópteros Malévolos.

Megaquirópteros Malévolos’s debut match was against the seasoned rudo, Lagarto Poltergeist. The two rudos fought over whose evil spirit was strongest. Megaquirópteros Malévolos was victorious in the first round, but Lagarto eventually won the match by defeating him during the second and third rounds.

During the aftermath of their match, Lagarto showered Megaquirópteros Malévolos with endless praise, saying his form was excellent, his speed was perfect, and his agility was impressive. Megaquirópteros Malévolos had just met Lagarto and was shocked that he was a kind soul outside  his ring persona.

The only thing that bothered Megaquirópteros Malévolos about Lagarto’s praise was that he would call him “Mema” instead of his pro wrestling name. When he confronted Lagarto about this, Lagarto cheerfully told him “I’m sorry, I make up nicknames for everyone here. I have trouble remembering everyone's names. Mema also makes a better crowd chant too, yes? Me-ma Me-ma!”. Megaquirópteros Malévolos knows Lagarto is right, and allows him to continue to use the nickname Mema, even during their matches.

Here are some more unfinished characters (and one that's mostly finished) that I've worked on from January through March. 1). Frauke redesign(s) of the current Frauke armor and of the more traditional Frauke bone armor. I am thinking of rewriting Frauke's backstory and giving the amulet that she wears a personification or something... just a thought for now. I also decided to change her weapons to two short swords instead of the great sword. 2). Ayano's current design. I have planned a few other design options, but haven't sketched any of them yet. Her backstory is also still a WIP, so more on that once it's actually finished... 3). & 4). REIN redesign WIP. Showed his original creator and she said "He seems younger here, before 90+ fatal injuries". In the past, we discussed the ownership of REIN, and I was told he's basically mine in a way, so that's why I gave him a wild new coat of paint at the moment. Now, I gotta finish him up... just like the rest of these... (Just drew him the other day tho, so he's the most recent WIP. Also felt like giving him color, so there is the color version (for now).) 5). & 6). Hattie's final linework for her wrestling outfit. I still need to outline the casual outfit and her mechanic outfit tho... I've been working on/off the same sketch of Hattie since 2022... 7). & 8). Kohaku's redesign. I think I need to improve a lot on her most recent WIP of her wrestling outfit, but for now, I just wanted to show that I have been working on her... I think more "armor" elements would really help, but not sure how to go about that yet... also not sure if I should keep the purple in her design...

I also worked a bit on my first D&D character, Eros Borgia. I think if I ever finish this sketch of him I will include his stats and make a character sheet or something like that (found the old one on my hard drive so I have all the old info).

At long last, I can say he's a Chaotic Good Fighter. ^_^

Hey Tumblr. Sorry for my absence, I had to move out of my home this past December. (I wasn't pretty, and it's still ongoing...)

In the meantime, here are some illustrations I started for some friends of mine. (I hope that posting these here will help me to remember to finish them.)

I watched ManlyBadassHero play the indie game Pizza Ghest years ago, and I think about it randomly all the time, so I finally made some fan art of it that does it justice! (I tried last year, but it didn't turn out so great in my opinion.) The visual style of the game is incredible. <3 The story is fun and cool, and the characters are unique and I love all their designs~ The game is made by bagheads. So in case you're obsessed with the visual style (like I am), they're still making games, so go check them out! Here's a link to ManlyBadassHero playing it. Yo Tumblr. Here are some WIPs that I started recently:

Kohaku (dressed as Brian Yu from Monster Prom), Hikaru (cutie witch), and Umeko (Y2K alien) dressed up for Halloween. Hikaru wanted to take a TokTik of them together, so yeah.

Okay, so I'm working on a lot of different art projects right now (two drawings for old friends, two more wrestling OCs inspired by Sukeban, eventually outlining older sketches (and shading them too), and fantasy art because I'm head over heels for fantasy stuff right now). BUT I redesigned and finally fleshed out this old OC and gave him purpose! His name is Daigo, and his companion is Ayano (who rests across his shoulders). His story is currently complex and a work in progress (the same goes for Ayano), so for now, I will share what I typed up for his Art Fight bio:

Daigo (he/him) was once a cursed, enraged demon. The curse placed upon him shrouded him in an overwhelming anger. Daigo fought against the curse's veil, to combat the rage that was beginning to seep into his soul, but it was too late. He was trapped by the shroud and left to rot. As time slowly passed, he succumbed to the curse and used the rage that was building inside him to break free from the entrapment. He was free, but his mind had been driven mad by all the time spent trapped within the shroud. Daigo brought chaos and harm to anyone who crossed his path until he was greeted by Ayano. Ayano was a wandering water elemental who used her abilities to soothe Daigo's rage. She was able to calm his soul, which ended up breaking Daigo's curse. Finally free, Daigo was able to find himself again, and slowly find a life of peace. Daigo now spends his time in a small mountain home, learning about teas and tea ceremonies. He also spends his free time by the coastline, hoping to trade his teas for different tea varieties. Daigo does not know who cursed him or the specifics of the curse used on him, but Ayano knows about such dark magic. She has decided to guard Daigo to make sure that the original curse caster does not return to inflict more damage. (Ayano is the dragon resting across Daigo's shoulders btw. She will have her own profile on Art Fight after character art is created for her.) Daigo (and Ayano) exist in the same world as Fauke and Stein. Eventually, they will cross paths, and Daigo will join Demonstein, hoping to encounter the curse caster in the hopes of bringing retribution upon them. Ayano will be hesitant to join, but eventually agrees in order to continue to protect Daigo.

Lucid is a great artist and a dear friend of mine. <3 We met in uni, and spent most of our time working long nights in our department. We spent so much time together that we eventually started to call each other Mother and Son (I am older, hence the Mother title, and I would also "mother" other uni students, including Lucid :P). And that is how Lucid became my Son. <3 Lucid doesn't have a Tumblr and is currently in need of cash, as they just lost their job, their biological mother, and their housing, all last month. You can help him out by purchasing a commission, spreading this post around, or following their social media. Anything helps. <3

I WENT TO THE ALL STAR JR. FESTIVAL U.S.A. 2023!!! AND I GOT TO MEET BUSHI!!! <3 <3 <3

If you don't know, allow me to explain a bit. NJPW is THE REASON I like wrestling. The first match I fell in love with was Taguchi vs Low Ki. And ever since, I have been keeping my eye on the promotion. I used to joke about going to a match if they ever came to the states, and they did in the past years, but this time, it was basically in the backyard!!! And what an incredible night! And it was so LOUD!!! I never realized hitting the ring could be that loud and piercing to the soul! It made everything feel more impressive and impactful! And the amount of sweat that got smacked off the wrestlers was like watching a fog roll in! I never imagined that seeing a match live could be so much more exciting than watching it from a screen. Every match that night was great (except for Bushi's, cause I wanted him and Shun Skywalker to win 😅). If you get a chance and have the coin to spare, you can watch the full night here. Kohaku’s ring title is The Blue Flame, and I enjoy the bright energy that surrounds her.

And the dust cloud (gives me “rising from the ashes” energy!!!).
