A Happy Sunday to all! Sharing this last piece I did for @sumo_restaurant Bjørvika that’s insane and I still couldn’t wrap my head around. Never have I imagined that my work would be on a bathroom floor. You could say… It’s the s#it. 🤣🤣 No? Okay. 🤪 The style of the Koi follows the same creative direction as the Geisha. Similar elements are used together like the Sakura branch and falling petals to have a feeling of familiarity when you see them separately. A little bit of breakdown of the bird animation flying in the background: 1) I made a looping rough pencil animation of a bird flapping its wings on Ps based on the design. 2) imported rough animation in after effects and created frame by frame shape layer keyframes 3) adjusted the timing later on and made tweens to fill some inbetweens. 4) added keyframes on the position of the bird flying across the screen. 5) added motion blur so it still creates some separation from the Geisha. Sharing some new work!!! I had so much fun playing with the shapes, colors and composition for this piece. It’s part of a series I’ve done for @sumo_restaurant , an asian fusion concept restaurant in the neighborhood of Bjørvika in Oslo, Norway. It’s a looping animated piece displayed on a large screen intended to seamlessly blend with the restaurant’s location, and interiors. The style is intended to be somewhere between simplified geometric shapes but not too abstract to obscure certain details.
