freedom  earned  only  with  authorization  of  his  management  comes  with several  conditions  ;  he’s  told  to  stay  on  his  best  behaviour  and  agrees  to  set  terms  with  hesitation  .  promise  is  as  hollow  as  the  smile  painted  across  features  &  displayed  exclusively  for  the  paparazzi  following  him  up  to  the  airport’s  security  checkpoint  .  now  ,  he  sits  in  first  class  seat  with  a  false  sense  of  comfort  enveloping  his  shoulders  &  annoyance  taking  place  of  forced  contentment  .

          sure  ,  his  penchant  for  presumption  &  the  presence  of  an  ego  that’s  almost  suffocating  has  led  him  to  less  than  optimal  encounters  in  the  past  ,  though  recurring  headlines  are  a  testament  to  just  how  little  he  seems  to  care  these  days  .  a  little  too  aware  that  words  to  follow  are  crucial  in  avoiding  another  scandal  ,  which  ,  to  put  it  bluntly  ,  he  can’t  quite  afford  right  now  .  potential  threat  of  irritating  passersby  is  the  least  of  his  concerns  —  makes  that  much  obvious  when  he  chooses  to  provoke  a  clearly  disinterested  brunette  further  ,  rather  than  receding  to  his  own  devices  .

          she’s  pretty  is  the  first  and  only  observation  he  makes  before  declaring  her  the  subject  of  his  personal  entertainment  over  the  span  of  hours  to  come  .  perhaps  occupying  time  with  lackluster  movies  offered  from  airline  was  the  more  viable  option  in  this  scenario  ,  but  seung  was  never  one  to  shy  away  from  discourse  .  “  you’ve  never  seen  my  face  on  your  screen  before  ?  i’m  not  trying  to  sound  like  an  asshole  —  i  just  find  that  hard  to  believe  .  ”

            her  attitude  throws  a  hook  &  he’s  quick  to  bite  ,  own  demeanour  shifting  with  the  appearance  of  raised  brows  and  a  smirk  threatening  the  corners  of  thinly  pressed  lips  .  “  thanks  for  the  offer  ,  but  i’m  going  to  politely  decline  .  that  scenario  sounds  fun  and  all  ,  but  i  don’t  really  gain  anything  from  it  .  we’re  going  to  be  stuck  on  this  flight  for  what  ,  eleven  hours  ?  ”  enunciates  syllables  for  extended  theatrics  ,  “  we  might  as  well  get  introductions  out  of  the  way  ,  since  i’m  sure  you’ll  get  bored  of  forcing  yourself  to  sleep  and  avoid  conversation  soon  .  ”

                               normal  hatred  towards  long  and  unbearable  flight  times  was  ever  present  ,  looming  at  the  back  of  her  mind  and  now  constantly  dreading  just  how  long  she’d  be  onboard  aircraft  ,  practically  counting  down  hours  until  she  wouldn’t  feel  so  trapped  .  she  can  only  hope  that  time  flies  by  at  a  faster  rate  than  usual  ,  though  after  only  minutes  of  being  in  her  seat  ,  such  hopes  quickly  begin  to  fade  .

                           stark  and  quite  frankly  unwanted  conversation  serves  as  the  gentle  distraction  needed  to  stop  mental  clock  decreasing  in  her  mind  ,  silently  glad  that  arrogance  continued  to  seep  off  him  long  enough  for  him  to  continue  conversation  .  it’s  hard  not  to  rake  in  familiar  features  up  close  ,  though  opting  not  to  disclose  any  visual  signs  of  recognition  ,   figuring  feigning  cluelessness  was  perhaps  a  little  more  entertaining  for  both  of  them  .  “  sorry  but  no  —  besides  ,  you  don’t  look  like  you’d  be  in  anything  i’d  ever  watch  .  ”

                                   shoulders  are  quick  to  shrug  in  response  ,  casually  brushing  it  off  as  nothing  —  which  it  was  .  pausing  to  wonder  whether  brief  interaction  would  come  to  an  end  just  as  quickly  as  it’d  started  ,  alas  unwarranted  reminder  of    excessive  time  spent  together  ,  ahead  of  them  is  brought  to  her  attention  .  only  further  prompting  the  brunette  to  sink  further  into  her  seat  with  dismay  written  all  over  her  face  once  again   .  “  do  you  think  it’s  too  late  to  request  a  seat  change  ?  ”

          red  -  eye  flight  to  europe  and  forecasts  show  he  won’t  be  getting  an  ounce  of  sleep  .  he’s  riddled  with  anxiety  ,  as  proven  by  unkempt  nail  beds  chewed  raw  ,  and  if  the  bluish  crescent  shaped  welts  on  lower  lids  weren’t  enough  ,  his  exhaustion  is  hidden  in  plain  sight  .  mood  sat  on  the  murkier  side  of  things  ;  it’s  something  managers  have  grown  accustomed  to  these  days  ,  so  the  begged  question  of  being  granted  permission  to  fly  overseas  alone  is  met  with  little  hesitation  .  wonders  for  a  moment  if  freedom  was  finally  being  considered  ,  or  if  the  ones  surrounding  him  had  simply  reached  the  breaking  points  in  dealing  with  him  .  regardless  ,  insistence  on  independence  is  what  leads  him  here  —  a  first  class  &  one  -  way  ticket  out  of  los  angeles  ,  with  a  stranger  (  whose  face  is  somewhat  familiar  )  by  his  side  .  though  girl’s  features  are  not  completely  foreign  ,  he  just  can’t  place  it  under  his  own  fatigue  .  so  he’ll  decide  to  err  on  the  safe  side  ,  following  words  arrogant  as  they  slip  from  tongue  .

“ if  you’re  a  fan  ,  we  can  make  this  quick  and  get  a  picture  now  .  i  don’t  really  like  to  be  bothered  on  flights  ,  but  i’m  willing  to  make  an  exception  .  ”

                              spontaneous  trip  to  los  angeles  had  taken  everyone  by  surprise  ,  her  management  especially  and  trainer  that’d  been  left  in  the  lurch  and  still  ,  ara  was  nowhere  near  done  with  jetting  off  to  undisclosed  locations  .  eager  for  some  form  of  a  break  from  continuous  training  for  hours  on  end  ,  constantly  monitored  and  told  to  stay  in  line  or  risk  career  falling  flat  before  brazen  hopes  of  being  an  olympic  champion  could  ever  be  fulfilled  .

                                first  class  plane  ticket  had  been  bought  only  hours  prior  and  general  excitement  to  tackle  a  new  setting  had  been  the  forefront  emotion  from  the  moment  she’d  stepped  foot  inside  the  aircraft  .   and  though  flight  was  reasonably  empty  ,  dismay  is  painted  all  over  features  at  the  sight  of  another  besides  her  own  dedicated  seat  .  slumping  down  into  dangerously  comfy  chair  ,  she  eyes  him  carefully  for  the  briefest  of  moments  ,  recognition  easy  enough  but  quickly  distracted  by  drinks  menu  that  was  silently  calling  out  to  her  .

                                 scoff   of  amusement  is  quick  to  follow  at  the  sound  of  unwarranted  interaction  from  the  other  ,  brows  perking  up  ,  yet  gaze  not  leaving  long  list  of  potential  beverages  .  “  to  be  a  fan  ,  i’d  have  to  know  who  you  are  so  ..   i’ll  pass  on  the  photo  .  ”  a  lie  —  it  was  hard  not  to  know  the  face  of  someone  that’d  filled  her  screen  on  many  lonely  days  and  yet  ,  feigning  nonchalance  was  natural  instinct  .
