Easter holidays gave us 4 free days. It was a great idea to go to the Austria. We’ve spent the first day hiking around Gosausee and the second day kayaking Salza river. We’re a active sport lovers- we’re snowpigs.cz and we hate to be bored. So we decided to spend one day also skiing at the glacier. Weather forecast was not very promising- mostly rain, slightly snowing and fog in higher altitude. Even this couldn’t change our minds. Mölltaler glacier area is one of our favourite places to go. It’s always very friendly and kind. We like skiing of course but there’s much more to love here. Because not even from skiing is a man alive. We made a few rides up’n’down. It was about 10 cm new snow today and it was sometimes quite nothing to see around thanks fog and snowing. Our moods were still fine because the noon was slowly coming. We kept quite clear ideas in our heads. Panorama reastaurant Eissee is a guarantee that we spent always a great time at Mölltaler glacier despide the weather. You’re pretty wrong if you’d expect that you’ll pay an additional hight see level altitude charge for meals. The only additional hight altitude charge is very big and nice portions. Here are some of our tips: Kässepätzle (small portion) To be honest – standard human can‘t eat whole this portion (the small one). It‘s quite a challenge to eat it all alone. You’ll be then extra full and destroyed by this big tasty portion. Almost better to share this meal with one of your friends. Spätzle is full of cheese and gratinated onion on the top is like a cherry on the piece of cake. Kässpätzle are yummy. Spare ribs with pommes I can’t believe my eyes that austrian hogs are so big to have such huge and juice ribs. And all of that for decent price. Nice surprise at the end is that you’ll get 3 types of sauces with pommes. Käsesuppe Just simply perfect. No more words to need. Just try that and you will not be disappointed. Germködel mit Vanillesoße Our attention engaged this big dumpling which hides inside sweet plum jam and is covered by lovely vanilla sauce and poppy can’t be missed as well. Unfortunatelly you can’t get it after the main meal (specially after small portion of Kässpätzle) like a dessert because you’re pretty full. So next time we’re going to try this goodie. We had a lovely coffee after this gastronomic orgy. We’d watched the snowflakes falling down behind the window while sitting pleasantly inside. And we felt great. A few rides at the end and the time to go was here again. No sorrow is needed because we’ll come back very soon although probably already without skies. However Mölltaler glacier can offer lots of activities in the summer season as well..
