when I say I want Katara to be firelady, I absolutely do not mean that I want Katara to leave the Southern Water Tribe and abandon her culture, I mean that I want her to have the ability to look fire nation nobiliy in the eyes and say “wow, shut the entire fuck up” and no one can tell her no because the fire nation treats it’s royals like gods, but then also she doesn’t Technically have political power in the fire nation, so no one can complain that she’s too blunt or anything, because she has the excuse of being “not a politician,” she just has the power to go to every meeting she wants to and talk without being interrupted and servants attending her whenever she’s in the palace and Zuko as her literal husband who will trust her on anything, and because of this she can also be unapologetically water tribe while she’s there,, i mean,, we are talking “set up a literal tent in her bedroom and sleeps there instead of the bed because this isn’t her home, she’s just camping out here” “bigoted idiots are like ‘i just want to have a reasonable discussion’ to try and promote fascism and katara just pretends to not speak the language” and then Katara, being Katara, makes friends with the entire staff of the palace and literally every noble and dignitary who’s a decent person and “accidentally” starts like 12 rebellions because she’s like “you shouldn’t let people treat you that way, you deserve better” and people are like “oh yeah huh, you’re right” and she is still Katara, she’s still super sweet and adopts anyone who shows her kindness in an instant, but she Will Not Stand for bigotry, and she is a public figure who’s opinions spread to the entire fire nation and she’s beloved by the citizens, but she makes racist/sexist people fear the wrath of the gods,,, and yet all of this is like,,, just her side gig, her main job is being “not chief” of the Southern water tribe (because Sokka is technically chief but Katara makes a ton of the decisions without having the stress of being technically a politician so she can still just live her best calm life down there) she usually lives at the South Pole and Zuko usually lives in Caldera city but they visit each other a lot,,, So Katara’s just “fun side hobby” is becoming the face of change in the entire fire nation and adored by the common folk and royalty alike, meanwhile Zuko’s “fun side hobby” is being adopted by the entire water tribe,,, that’s what I mean when I say I want firelady Katara

Nico and Percy’s dynamic in BotL is honestly the funniest fucking thing because Percy’s this emotionally exhausted 15 year old who is the sole person concerned about this feral 11 year old street urchin that wants to kill him…Chiron and the rest of the camp are just like ‘sometimes, children are homeless and they die. what can you do😔‘ and Percy’s just like ‘no???? we need to make sure he’s eating???? and that he’s not captured by an army of monsters???’ and Nico keeps trying to plot Percy’s downfall except he can’t actually come up with a plan because he’s Eleven or whatever and it’s just….remember when you were 15? remember what that felt like? now imagine being 15 and trying to wrangle an 11 year old that’s hissing and kicking your shins into brushing his teeth. imagine trying to tell this little asshole to go to bed before 10pm and he pulls out a fucking sword. how is someone supposed to handle that??? Percy surely doesn’t know! there’s a scene in BoO where Nico’s like ‘I don’t want to eat anything, but I know Percy would annoy the fuck out of me to force me to eat if he was here ugh’ sfkjsdfkj Percy literally had to CONDITION him into acting like a functioning person…and Percy’s inner monologue half the time is like ‘Yes I would kill for Nico di Angelo. Yes he is the worst person I know and I Will strangle him to death one day.’ like he doesn’t even completely like Nico as a person but everyone else is just chill with letting him run around by himself so Percy somehow ends up having to pseudo-parent this goth brat when he’s 15 and Barely Holding His Own Shit Together like….objectively an incredible dynamic lmao
