Nader Al-Anqar is 17 year old. He was studying hard and trying to graduate when his school was bombed and destroyed.

His family has been displaced over ten times. During the short ceasefire they were allowed to return home, but when they arrived they found it bombed and ruined beyond livable conditions. They're now homeless and are trying to survive in desperate conditions, fearing bombs day and night.

His family includes his mom, his dad (who has cancer and needs urgent treatment), his little brother Mohammed (14 years old), his older brother Abdul Salam (26 years old), his sister-in-law Aya Al-Batniji, and his niece Iman (who is only 1 year old). He worries for his father who can't receive cancer treatment because Israel destroyed so much of the healthcare system, infrastructure, and resources. He worries for his baby niece who has been born into genocidal conditions and only knows this level of danger.

He is just a kid. We text over Signal and he is shouldering so much responsibility for the survival of his whole family trying to fund-raise on tumblr.

He and his brother survived an explosion of two planes just last night. I'm sure you've seen other posts discussing the recent bombings.

He just sent me this recording. You can hear the sound of helicopters firing nearby.

Things are really scary, and he is desperate for help. He shouldn't have to do this alone.

I am very grateful to everyone who continues to donate and boost Palestinian fundraisers. Thank you for standing in solidarity and I hope in spirit of that, you will spare a few minutes of your time today.

Today I want to bring your attention to a very important fundraiser for Gazan students, who are simultaneously trying to survive through a genocide and fighting to preserve their future. It is important that they be able to continue on with their education- it is important that they are able to complete the courses they have been enrolled in. Please remember that Gaza WILL BE rebuilt one day. And it will be her own children who will do the rebuilding. But for that to happen, the students need to finish their degrees. A degree can help them gain employment-they can travel outside Gaza or may even work online.

So in short what I am trying to say is, education is the way to self determination. Please remember that back in 2023, Universities were the very first places to have been bombed. "Israel" has tried its best to destroy ways of Palestinian self determination ( education being one of the most powerful tools had been under relentless attacks ); let us then at least try to stand in solidarity with Gazan students and help overturn some of the damages.

Please donate to the Isnad campaign which is supporting thirty students. $1500 needs to be raised immediately within 4 days to rent a room which has facilities like electricity and net connection. Final exams are about to start. Please this is urgent. Isnad campaign needs to raise the amount by Saturday.

For most of us, college/university is hella expensive- even if some of us may have government schemes or something else to fall back on as safety nets, it ends up costing quite a bit. But as it stands now, a degree is important to access certain jobs which in turn can help with accessing a better life.

For close to two years now, students in Gaza have been living a life of uncertainty. When I talk to my friends, they often tell me how difficult it has been to access even the most basic necessities of life. Still they are persevering with the hope that one day they will rebuild both Gaza and their lives back. They have enrolled themselves in online courses and distance learning programs and are working hard to get a degree. However these cost money- from renting a space, to paying for both electric and net connection to do the course work. So to help with that, Gaza based ISNAD FOUNDATION ( reblogged by Nabulsi ) has been started and for now it is sponsoring 30 students. The goal is to raise $2000 USD per month to cover these bases. So please spread the word and donate if you can.
