this is 100% accurate. i work in the medical field and the pregnancy tests they give you there work just as well as the dollar store ones. it’s just that they are sold at the dollar store for a dollar because it is a no name brand. brands are charging you more for the name and not it’s actual effectiveness, jsyk.

A while back when I couldn’t afford to go to the doctor, I needed a “proof of Pregnancy” so that I could get on medicaid and thus..go to the doctor. I went to a free clinic that would help with that sort of thing and they had these tests there. You took one while being watched by someone (I guess people try to get fake proof of pregancies? I don’t know) and then they wait for it to get double bars. If it does well you’re pregnant. So you know…clinics use these things too. Not because they’re cheap (they are, probably half the reason they use them too) but because they work very well.

I had no idea about this. I honestly was under the impression that Dollar Store tests were the same terrible quality as many of the other items there have. I want to reblog this one so that people can learn about the testing scale. Now I wonder if the quality is so good because some paragon at the top of the food chain said to themselves: ‘women need cheap, reliable tests’. I want to think it’s true. Maybe it is, maybe it isn’t.
