They are in the middle of something, they need to sneeze. And after they do so, they wait a moment until the need to sneeze dies down.

But the moment they get back to work, the sneeze comes back to tickle their nose, causing them to have to pause again. After this time, they rub their nose and wait again. Nothing.

"He's not well enough for that!"

"Fuck, she's burning up."

"Wow, he's, like, proper sick."

"In case you hadn't noticed, she's actually really ill. She should be in bed!"

"Hm, he definitely has a temperature."

Bonus points if it's followed by the sickie (grumpily) going "I can hear you, you know".

Whumpee is given the task to write down a list of positive qualities about themselves and end up just staring at the blank page for hours.

Or maybe they come up with some depressing, whump filled bullet points:

Don't eat much

Don't need much sleep

Can take a beating without making much noise

Don't complain

Good at first-aid

Can sleep anywhere

Know how to work around injuries while healing

Always try to follow orders

Instead it is quiet, as though the cold itself is keeping them quiet. Every request sounds pitiful because they have put all their effort into sounding just above a whisper.

And while they do make it through most of the day and are finally heading home from work/uni, they are walking with their friends and hoping they can fake it for a bit longer. That is until a tickle starts to spread through their nose, and they can feel that they won’t be able to keep this at bay forever.

So they slowly slip to the back of the group as they walk and let out a silent stifle. Now they can- another sneeze, this one also stifled but a little bit of the sneeze slipped out at the end. But it’s fine they- another sneeze. This one is fully audible and A turns around and notices them lagging behind
