I know it’s been said since Arctic Monkeys came onto the scene that they were a ripoff of Milburn, but I can’t listen to or watch videos of Tom without feeling like I’m witnessing a ripoff of Alex Turner. Which makes me wonder if Alex has legitimately been ripping Tom off all this time, or if they’ve just morphed into the same person. I guess if Alex doesn’t want to tour ever again but the other Monkeys do, they can just slap a wig and a pair of sunglasses on Tom and shove him on stage, problem solved. Bring Miles on to awkwardly grind on him during 505 and we’re grand, no one will know.

No idea. I feel like if he had such needs, they could get someone from the record label to deal with it.

Alex was actually really cool at the beginning. His awkwardness was not cringe. He was natural and humble but sassy. He started becoming cringe and uncool during his transformation from Humbug to AM. Trying way to hard. So his 'coolest' phase was actually the most uncomfortable to witness

I’ve never liked him and that was before I ever knew much about him lol. Really can’t stand him. As I’ve said many times, we have no way of knowing what the actual dynamics are between all of them, Breana could be the problem, etc. But shading Breana has been a pattern since he got with Amanda and I don’t recall Breana doing the same since they started coparenting. Maybe she was advised to stop talking about him by her lawyer, maybe she was forced to during custody proceedings, maybe she only did it in the first place to publicly shame him into stepping up and stopped once he did, idk. But I also don’t believe she’s ever referenced or shaded Amanda, someone correct me if I’m wrong. I just see this situation happen too often to be on Mattanda’s side, wherein the man gets with a new woman, they publicly vilify the mother, then the stepmother tries to step in and take the mother’s place with the full support of the father. Not saying that last bit is true in this case, but it’s usually part of the pattern. As always, I feel for the kid stuck in the middle of such a dynamic. It sucks when your parents hate each other.

It’s the Timothee Chalamet effect, essentially. He cultivated this image of being an intellectual over the years and people bought it. I did too at one point, but eventually you have to look at who a person surrounds themselves with and realize it’s a reflection of who they are. And yes, when I meet those types in the real world, they’re usually so exhausting to be around. I want to tell them, “just be normal!” I do think that Alex is having normal conversations with people of course, the faux-intellectualism is probably overemphasized by us on here, but again, it’s how he seems to want to present himself to the world as.

I’m just so over it like… I really don’t come on here to fight with people. If I simply disagree with you on something, eventually you just need to get over it and move on. I don’t get why people get so fixated on needing to “win” an argument. And it’s always the stupidest shit, usually to do with boring ass Louise. God forbid we actually discuss the band my blog is named for….

Sad, sad

I know there are people on here who really discredit astrology buuuttt… Alex is very much a Capricorn imo in the sense that he appears to put up a good enough front that most people won’t bother looking past to see the insecurities lurking behind it. Not to say that I know more about him than a close acquaintance, but I’d say his own lyrics about himself should be taken more seriously than the words of someone else. And I do think in some ways, Alex does have a strong sense of self, but he also clearly struggles with his confidence and identity. Perhaps it’s that he knows who he wants to be rather than who he actually is, and just plays that character. Since he’s gone full hermit at this point, maybe he’s finally resolved those issues, but they’ve been recurring for much of his career and it’s likely he’s still the same, we just don’t hear his POV anymore. The Car was long enough ago that any of the hangups he wrote about then could now have been worked through. Who knows.

Like no one is saying she’s out here speaking advanced English but she has improved since she came on the scene. She used to speak very little. None of these people are having deep, intellectual conversations regardless. I don’t see why it matters. Their relationship is weird and likely dysfunctional no matter what language they speak, or how much of either they speak.

Because some of you just can’t let anything go? I don’t come on here to endlessly argue about stupid shit. I’d rather not even talk about her if she isn’t doing anything.

I’m just pointing out that he could leave it there and have plausible deniability for not getting it removed. I know he got the tattoo for her, I’m not stupid.

I swear. I don’t like Louise either but some people are really just saying anything. She’s obviously not fluent but can clearly speak and understand English well enough to communicate with Alex which is what you were saying.

If you can hold conversations with people in another language, you have established a basic proficiency and thus can speak the language. I think she’s probably at an intermediate level at this point. The insistence that they have this like insurmountable language barrier is tired. We still have no idea how much French Alex can speak at this point btw.

Yeah we’re aware, but honestly who cares? Alex wasn’t having deep conversations with the girlfriends who spoke fluent English. Louise lives most of the time in France anyway.
