it's been a while since i was last active, but i was pleasantly surprised to log back and see that so many people are still reading my works! coming back here briefly and re-reading some of my past works really reminded me of how much i enjoyed writing and sharing my works with you all.
life update: i graduated from my master's program! things are kind of hectic as i'm job hunting and working as a research assistant at the same time. but i'm currently enjoying my last summer in the city my university is located in before moving back to my hometown.
i'm still working on my wips, and have a few wips that i have yet to reveal that i did hint at previously. but rest assured that they will be completed and will be published (my goal is to finish those three before the end of the year).
i am also planning on completing ten reasons why i hate you before the end of summer (i.e., end of august/september). there are three chapters left, including the epilogue, and i just need to polish/edit them before publishing them (aka i need to stop being a lazy ass lol).

1) âJust in what universe did people from 1600s speak like this?â: If I were to use the English people used to speak back in the 1600s, no one would be able to understand. Technically, Early Modern English which was prominent from the 1400s to the late 1600s, is unintelligible to modern speakers (i.e., plebs like you and me) unless youâve studied it. I would have to write like Shakespeare. You can argue that a lot of Modern English words or sayings came from Shakespearean English, and people will only understand some of it. Also, issue is, I canât write Shakespearean English, and Shakespearean English is so complicated that I didnât even want to attempt it because of annoying hating readers like you who nitpick at every irrelevant detail that has nothing to do with the plot.
2) The fic is also set in Versailles, France. Going by your logic, the characters should then be talking in French. Hell, I couldâve written everything in French if I wanted to because I am French. But that wouldnât be fair to people who cannot read French. Once again, Middle French is highly complicated and no one would be able to understand unless theyâre a) a native speaker, and/or b) someone who studied and understand Middle French. Honestly, in WHAT universe do FICTIONAL CHARACTERS set in FRANCE speak ENGLISH!!! Cannot fathom this logic!!!
3) âAnd you have the audacity to put a disclaimer that says âany similarities are coincidencesâ when you canât even keep their manner of speaking as historically accurate as possible.â: Bestie, go back and read what you just wrote because it makes no sense, and thereâs no correlation between the two.
