St Mary's Daily Prayers

The earth is the Lord’s and everything in it. The cattle on a thousand hills belong to God. The silver is mine and the gold is mine, declares the LORD Almighty. Ask God for financial provision today.

Lord God Almighty, as the deer pants for streams of water, so may our souls pant for you. Give us a hunger and thirst for you and your word, in Jesus’ name.

As the school holidays begin, let us ask God for His protection on our children and for His provision on parents and guardians regarding child care. Pray also that these children will not be lured into criminality but will find meaningful things to do throughout the holidays.

“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession”. (1 Pet 2:9) Praise God! May His word be made manifest in our lives and may God help us live up to our calling. Amen.

In the Bible, God shows His particular concern for widows, orphans, the fatherless, poor and foreigners, warning against mistreating or oppressing them. Jesus Himself, Joseph and Mary were refugees at some point and Jesus became poor (2 Cor 8:9). May God touch our hearts to love and care for these people like He did.

Today, we remember leaders, governments and authorities in this country and beyond. Pray that they would govern wisely and come into divine alignment.

Today, we come to the middle of the month. Let us reflect, not on what we do not have but on the many things God has done for us including dear life and keeping us, and give thanks. Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

Let us pray for our family and friends, remembering in particular any who are sick or bereaved at this time. Pray for the healing balm of Gilead and for God’s comfort.

“If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” (James 1:5) Let us take hold of God’s word, believe it and receive it.

Here is God’s promise: I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you. (Psa 32:8) Pray for direction and counsel in every area of your life.

As we begin a new week, pray that the LORD will be your shepherd and that you will fear no evil. Let us come against every lack in our lives, in Jesus’ name.

Let us bring St Mary’s, St Luke’s and the church in this country to God. Pray for renewal and revival and for us to be salt and light in our neighbourhoods and various communities

Let us bring our needs and requests to God, trusting in His word: Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. (Phil 4:6).

We pray for The Green School for Girls Founders Day Service. May the parents, guardians, teachers and pupils alike have an encounter with our Lord Jesus Christ in this service and beyond.

We pray for The Green School for Boys Founders Day Service. May God’s presence be felt by all at the service. May He watch over the children during the upcoming Summer vacation.

Have faith in God, Jesus said. Pray today that God will increase your faith in Him.

This is the day that the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it. Lord God, let the morning bring us word of your unfailing love, for we have put our trust in you. Show us the way we should go, for to you we entrust our lives.
