The flat was quiet in that soft, slow way that made everything feel heavierโin a good way.
Just you and Alfie tangled in bed, the duvet half falling off, neither of you bothering to fix it.
You were awake, but you hadnโt moved.
Your head was tucked into his chest, your arm draped across him, your leg loosely hooked over his like it had settled there hours ago.

You turned your head slightly, pressing a quick, soft kiss to his cheek. โGood.โ
Your hand stayed in his the whole time, fingers loosely intertwined, swinging gently between you.
At one point, you stopped, turning toward him.
He looked down at you, expectant.

There was no annoyance in it. Just quiet amusement.

This time, the kiss he pressed to your neck was softerโright beside the last one, more gentle, like he was balancing it out.
Then he settled properly against you again, half on top of you, his arm tucked around your side, keeping you close.
You relaxed into him instantly, your fingers tracing slow patterns along his back.
And neither of you made any move to get up.
