“Name one Swedish artist, you stupid blonde haired sheep kisser.”

“Um, fucking ABBA is Swedish. Also Avicii. Both artists and proud sheep kissers, probably.”

Sarah spun around in the office chair to face the entering nurse. “Yeah, probably,” she said, wearing an amused smirk. “You know, you should really stop lockin’ it. I’m runnin’ out of bobby pins here.” She twirled with the bent hair accessory between her fingers. At his question, her expression fell. “I … just didn’t feel like goin’ today,” she mumbled, purposefully avoiding his gaze. “Didn’t see the point, that’s all.”

Milo’s eyes rolled melodramatically at the smirk, and he slipped up to sit on one of the cots in his office since she was occupying his desk chair. “Or - crazy thought - you could just stop breaking in. Or text me and tell me to come let you in. Bizarre, right?” He shook his head at her, his eyes lifting to her fallen expression. “Whatever. I figured as much. Classes are not much fun as I am, so I can not blame you.” Probably not a good mentality for a school nurse to have, but he didn’t care. He was more of a friend than a nurse to many students at this point.

“Oh yeah. Huge party. It went on for days, pretty much until we heard that you were actually coming back. That was sort of a mood-kill, so thanks for that.”

“That terribly sucks, man. But my punishment doesn’t end there. I will force you to spend Valentine’s day with me”.

“Goddammit, are you serious? My girlfriend the last person I wanted to see on Valentine’s Day.” He reached out to take her hand and pull her close enough to kiss her. “I missed you, or whatever.”

“You’re Swedish. That’s like totally discount European. People in France and Italy are the pinnacle of art and fashion and I’m pretty sure you just make out with sheep.”

“Sweden is basically the only part of Europe that even matters, because people in Sweden make out with sheep and appreciate art. Look how dumb and uncultured you made yourself look now.”

“I guess it can get pretty annoying, especially when you can’t understand they lyrics.” 

“Yep. Exactly. It is hard enough for me to understand English music, anyway, but then add that... uh, noise - whining, in with it? It is the worst.”

“Awe you’ve never heard of Hamilton The Musical? It’s actually all the rage these days!”

"I may have heard of it before but I do not really read much about things I see on the internet. Reading English is not my favorite thing to do. What is it?”

“It’s art, dumbass. Of course you don’t get it,” Clary scoffed, rolling her eyes as she glanced between him and the laptop screen. “God, you’re so uncultured.”

"Excuse you, bitch. I am European, and Europeans are known for being artistic. Probably. You thinking Mr. Five-head here dumping his groceries on a piano is uncultured.”

“Yes. It’s a cute song.” Sure, the generic pop song didn’t have much depth, but that was how Allison liked it.

“Is it? I am not sure. But I guess I have never really listened to the lyrics. Who is it by?”

“Yeah, go ahead, I don’t mind.”

“Thank you. I hate songs like that. When the singer sounds like they are about to start crying while they sing. Like... go calm down and then sing your song. It would be much easier.”

“Yes I do!” Lennox folded her arms across her chest. “Poker Face literally changed my life. I am who I am because of Lady Gaga. Back off.”

“Well, nothing against her. Some of her music is good. But Poker Face is... not very.” He lightly shrugged his shoulders, in an apologetic way. “I do not think so, at least.”

“American History Milo!! Come on! How long have you been living here now?”

“Like, eight months. Dude, I can barely spell ‘American history.’ No way do I actually know anything about it.”
