Hello! My name is Orion. I am fourteen years old. I have major depressive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, and autism spectrum disorder.

My situation… Well to be honest, it sucks right now. My depression and anxiety are getting worse. I’ve been having more and more meltdowns and panic attacks. Going to school is so hard, I have meltdowns just thinking about it. I struggle to complete daily tasks at home, and when things get really bad, I can hardly keep myself safe. I’ve been through an intensive outpatient program twice, I’ve been in a psychiatric hospital four times, and I haven’t been able to stay at one school for over a year for a long time. Nothing seems to work.

My parents and I have agreed on another option- a service dog.

A service dog could do many things to help me. It can do things such as lead me out of crowded areas, apply deep pressure to me when I’m anxious or overwhelmed, and interrupt harmful behaviors (such as skin picking, head banging, etc).

My parents have agreed that I can get one only if I can raise the money for both the dog and the training by myself. That’s why I’m making this post!

The dog itself has to be hypoallergenic (my dad’s allergic), but big enough to do things such as deep pressure therapy. I’m currently looking at either a standard poodle or labradoodle. The bad thing is, dogs like these are really expensive, going upwards of $800. This is my first goal. My second goal is to pay for the training, which costs around $600.

I can’t afford this myself, so I’m asking for help.
