This article really caught my attention. I have been a passionate lover of music since I can recall my first memories. Just to give you an idea of how truly young I actually was…well, let’s just say that I was the eccentric six year old who was listening to ‘Dark Side of the Moon’ on Saturday mornings –while the ‘normal ‘ kids were totally consumed and utterly content with their favorite cartoon. With that being said, I myself, was a notoriously huge Nirvana fan. Yes,I agree that to an extent Kurt and his music got the majority of attention. The reason being, perhaps had something to do with a few main things :Although Kurt was,ironically enough, a rock star that absolutely loathed the spotlight. ..this backfired in a sense when he felt the media was ultimately pressuring him to fit the stereotype of a ‘rock star’ . I believe it was because of his aura of mystery that had the public so hyper focused on Nirvana. ..leaving many INCREDIBLE bands on the back burner of music media. I couldn’t possibly end my opinion at that.I must say that I couldn’t agree more with stating that,yes,during this 90s Era of life changing rock n roll and grunge the music was iconic. Not only Alice in Chains. .but Pearl Jam, Soundgarden,Blind Melon,Sublime,Jeff Buckley. Etc. I could go on and on. I want to remember ALL of these phenomenal talents for how they changed my life. .not to mention the revolutionary change that was made possible because of there musical genius . I feel sorrow when I think about associating beautiful talent with drug use. RIP:LAYNE STAYLEY. Rip:SHANNON HOON. Rip:JEFF BUCKLEY rip:BRADLEY NOEL
