Beckov Castle, Slovakia
This castle situated on the cliff near the river is natural cultural monument in western Slovakia, close to Trencin. It was originally built in 13th century in stone, but the first settlement at the castle hill is much older and was used as a strategic outpost in Great Moravia Empire. Its present appearance is the result of renovation in the last quarter of the 20th century. Today it is open to visitors.
