false advertising! the sun is not smiling at me it is blasting me with radiation and giving me stupid tanlines on my shoulders and ankles. when will it be October skull emoji.

don't tell the music supervisors about this one, it's too saturated-colours-swirling-galaxy atmospheric and they'll just put it anywhere! this is a very cool mix, the bass drum Booms and (as per the title) shakes the whole song back and forth and there's some kind of crazy reverb going on, too, very monochrome and cool. also there are shakers for the chorus (that are matchy with the shaker-esque cymbals that have been going the whole time). bassline sounds good, some fun stereo-panning synths, vocal is perfectly textured (both the singer's great lightly husky voice and the layers of cosmic cloud that have been digitally added to it). the overall vibe is like...chill but also dramatic? fun combination!

I selected this pineapple because I thought its excessive greenery was kind of funny.

just going to grab the sad-smashed-cake art from the bandcamp, suits the song even if I don't even want to think about dropping a cake on the ground. :(

did I just want to find some art of a snake with some oranges (we're ignoring the Cake part of the band name)? yes. kind of tempted to shift this over on the schedule to Friday as Synthesizers is definitely its main sonic feature (although in a chill shoulder-swivel way, not an Unstoppable Dance Music! way) but then I'd have to find something else for today so we're all going to look at this charming snake and its citrus fruits today! and also listen to the song, which is very nicely mixed! lots of nice spray paint blurred muzz and interesting layering on the lyrical vocals as well as some neat processing/stereo stuff on some wordless vocal samples. melodic synths are all well selected, kind of spacey. drum machines have a nice muffled/sharp balance in the mix with some fun stereo bounce. this song is like...pastel coloured chiffon scarves being waved around over a deep charcoal background?
