SO! I stumbled upon the Angst-era color photo (below, left) on Pinterest and it reminded me of this here pink suit jacket question. So now, when getting a full look at it, it's pretty likely it's the Top of the Pops jacket because of the linen-like texture. You can also catch the texture in black and white.
Single-breasted, ridiculously straight British shoulders, and oh-so-versatile set-in flapped breast pockets. (Very 70s James Bond.) Them shoulders say that the French TV appearance I linked is probably this suit.
That's all well and good, you say, but what about the "Progress" vs Hippopotamus question? So I thought I'd do some calculatus eliminatus here- So if Ron isn't wearing the linen suit, what IS he wearing? Reminder that it's another single-breasted pink jacket, this one with more rounding on the bottom hem and at least one barchetta pocket. Lapel notches are definitely more acute than the linen one...

Yeah, I'm gonna call it. All of the above, bright pink and doesn't fit? I'm gonna say it's Russell's.
But then...
Is the Primavera Pro jacket the OTHER other pink jacket? Double-breasted wrap suit with cornered hems and no breast pocket... those wide lapels... those wider-still saggy shoulders on a man who has never met a shoulder pad he didn't like...
Between the no-longer-fashionable 80s oversized-ness and Russell no longer being a 35-playing-30-year-old gym bunny refusing to go gently into twink death, a decent tailor could whittle this down to a happy medium. A loose jacket, dyed an adventurous deep pink and relieved of excess buttons, would make a nice piece for a man with eclectic style. (It'd certainly explain why both sides have stitching on the front...)
