The biggest part of being a functional human being (as far as I can tell) is being able to tell yourself to shut the fuck up and do the thing.

Being alone is quiet, no matter how busy the streets are. It’s an emptiness in your skull in which thoughts you’re uncomfortable with, thoughts you didn’t know you could make, thoughts that don’t feel like your own, echo. Being alone is not knowing who you are. And it’s fucking terrifying.

I keep trying to think of ways I could make friends, share meaningful experiences with people, I don’t know if it’s ever going to work. I wonder if being alone could possibly be a part of me, something I’ll never escape. I wonder if I’m doing it to myself, alienating myself from exactly what I want most. Probably.
