Ever since getting out of my long term relationship I have been very focused on the idea of finding peace. For someone who is constantly quite anxious, this feels like an impossible task if you’re looking at peace in a broad perspective.

I started to look at peace in a way that was only mine. Instead of trying to perfect the things around me and make my surroundings peaceful, I realized looking in is the only true way to achieve it. Peace is not how good your life is or how easy it is or organized. Peace is realizing everything is the way it is for a reason and letting it be.

You cannot be at peace if you are trying to control it. Only when you learn to accept will you learn peace. The feeling often feels impossible when looking through the lens of control. Letting go brings freedom.
