this whole jimothy thing is really just showing me how people won’t actually educate themselves on something they care about

jimothy is a racoon with short spine syndrome. the condition is not inherently painful, however we dont know how bad the mutation might actually be—so he may be in pain.

it can cause internal problems with bone placement and nerve compression. he could easily be in pain, wild animals are easy at hiding it.

he is very much more susceptible to predators. he can’t look or run as fast or climb as well as a normal racoon.

people are also feeding him—leading him to be more dependent on humans. he could easily get killed by a dog or hit by a car because of how much he’s depending on humans.

please remember, this is a wild animal. do not interact or feed him, it would be much better for him to be in a wild life refuge, or just let nature take its course.
