tho i love ray so much and want to see him develop more. i think currently his character doesn't need anymore developing. but i would like to explore his relationship with norman. like how he sees norman's plan logical yet he sides with emma or something like that.

Tbh I don’t agree, but I agree in a different way- Ray needed development before this point. He wanted to commit suicide for 6 years, yet it was pretty brushed over. I feel like an arc should have been dedicated to Ray earlier on in the series, so he could more realistically learn to accept and love life, rather than magically just be like “I’m better!” since mental health really doesn’t work like that.

For now, since that sort of arc is out of the question for him, I’d like to see some closure with Isabella if possible. But I agree it would be interesting to see his views on Norman’s logic vs Emma’s ideals. But even that’s being a bit shafted so far.

I guess we’ll just have to see what happens.

Aaaaarghhh I hope Ray gets the development and focus he deserves in the remainder of this arc... I really want to hope that Ray has been sidelined up to this point because the author has a great character arc saved for him up to this point that will make the wait worth it but I feel like that’s hoping for too much, ahhh... there is hope, though, being the note he left Krone, and Isabella if she’s alive... I’m solidly an OT3 person but if Rayemma is what it takes to let him develop&shine,so be it

I’m hoping for most of this too. I’m hoping he can get some focus why they return to Grace Field, since he needs more closure with his past, relationship with Isabella, etc. The other children don’t even know he’s Isabella’s biological child. Maybe this can be revealed so he can more fully accept himself?

It sucks that Ray’s been sidelined these past couple of arcs after the escape... I really hope the author fully utilizes his potential and does his character justice, but I feel like all of the focus is going to land on Norman and Emma. Which sucks, because the last couple of arcs were all about Emma and the escape arc was primarily Norman but Ray never got an arc centering around him

Yeah I agree with you,,, Ray really did need an arc to solidify his thoughts, feelings and growth. But the series is sort of getting butchered- I feel like he won’t get much of an arc.

Ray had such potential to be a phenomenal character. Not saying he isn’t right now, but he could have been a much gripping character had Shirai spent the time develop him and show his development. It’s a shame, honestly.

I've caught up with all the latest chapters of The Promised Neverland chapters so far. Even though Ray & Emma have spent 2 years together and fighting demons. I only ever see them as close friends/siblings. I just don't see them as "lovers"... What's wrong if they care deeply for each other as siblings? I don't see anything wrong with my pov. Of course there are shippers in every fandom.

Anon, your POV is totally valid! I actually have the exact same view as you. Don’t let shippers make you feel bad about your interpretation.

I also see Ray and Emma as close friends/family, and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with a healthy platonic bond between two people. Two people can care about each other and not have romantic interest- it’s totally normal.

Just try and ignore what people say and enjoy the series if you can.

I wonder how much season 2 of the anime will end up covering, especially assuming it's gonna be 12 episodes only again. I mean we have the meeting with Sonju and Musica and the talks there, there's meeting Yugo and the stuff in the bunker, and then there's EVERYTHING that goes down in Goldy Pond. It'll definitely be a jam packed season if they include all that stuff. Well, I hope that at the very least they don't cut out internal dialogue again next season.

I’ve heard rumors it’s going to be two cour AKA around 24 episodes. If it is two cour, I imagine it would reach up till right before the timeskip so season three will open with that.

Since the anime portrayed Mama's lullaby as a sort of goodbye song, is it possible that when she sung it to the remaining kids it was a goodbye to herself?

I think it’s possible! I feel like the song had a lot of different meanings to Isabella, so she sang it for various reasons.
