“Hey Euniques and STAYs. It feels like it’s been forever since we actually sat down and talked like this — so I wanted to leave a little message.

And yes, before anyone asks, let’s talk about the hair. It has honestly been on quite the journey recently. We went from blonde, to pink, and now we’ve settled back into this warm chocolate brown. I think my scalp is finally thanking me for it. But I’ll let you in on a tiny secret. So this darker brown and the pink shade might, maybe, possibly have something to do with a certain intense sound we’ve been building toward in the practice rooms lately for our next group project. That’s all I’m saying. Seriously. Pretend I never said anything. If Chan finds out I casually hinted at an album concept through a random video message, I may never see daylight again. So keep that between us, okay?

Governor’s Ball was honestly incredible. Being out there on that stage with the boys, performing in the open air with that kind of energy surrounding us, was such a surreal experience. Backstage, though, was complete chaos—which, to be fair, is pretty much how our lives have been lately anyway. The boys have basically adopted my solo album as their personal entertainment source. Han has spent the last two weeks wandering around and dramatically screaming the chorus of ‘Slow Down Baby’ at full volume like a Broadway performer who just stepped on a Lego. Felix somehow keeps appearing behind me without warning, immediately launching into the point choreography for ‘Back in the Day’ while adding the most dramatic hair flips imaginable. And then Lee Know will just be sitting nearby, completely serious, assigning numerical scores to Felix’s attitude and hip isolations like he’s judging a dance competition. It's scary sometimes.

I’ve also been reading through so many of your messages about ‘Back in the Day,’ and I really can’t put into words how grateful I am. Seeing how much love you’ve given the album and hearing so many people say they appreciate how different it feels from what’s currently popular ... it means more than you know. I even saw someone say I should be a guest on Jimmy Fallon, which is honestly crazy. Slow down! You guys manifest things with terrifying levels of confidence. But really, creating this album was such a special experience for me. Combining those 50s-inspired brass arrangements and old Hollywood cinema influences with elements of the R&B and hip-hop sounds I explored on my second album. I’ve always loved older music. There’s something timeless about it, something warm and comforting that never really disappears no matter how much the world changes. It carries a kind of nostalgia that I’m constantly drawn to, and being able to bring that into my own music was a dream.

And the boys have been unbelievably supportive throughout the whole process. What makes me happiest is that they genuinely love the record. They understand exactly why I’m so passionate about these vintage influences, and they get excited about them with the same energy that I do. Having people around you who truly understand your artistic vision and celebrate it alongside you is such a gift, and I’m really thankful for that.

Anyway, what i wanted to say is... I’m going to read a few of the letters you guys left earlier and I just wanted to say thank you, for sticking around through every up and down, for supporting the album, for listening, for sharing your thoughts, and for always being there. No matter how busy things get, you continue to be my anchor through all of it.
