Hero of Legend

                                     “You’re bad at makin’ wagers, Bedhead,” he chimes, humming in content against the shorter’s lips as he eagerly returned the affectionate gesture. Not that he was complaining, given the arrangement sounded quite pleasing either way– he lost, and he had to kiss his beloved, which he was never averse to doing and never would be. A victory, however, meant he had something to rub in the brunette’s face, with a received kiss as an added bonus.

          Had it been anyone else forcing a wrench between his plans to get a head start on his studying, despite class having ended not even an hour prior ( and the upcoming exam an entire week away ), the star student likely would have protested and nearly blown a gasket. Link, however, seemed to be the exception to everything, his playful interruption earning him a light chuckle as the freckled teen marked his page within the hefty textbook and set it aside.

                    “There somethin’ I can help you with?”

          A quirk of a brow, as the dots upon his cheeks shifted, grin ever widening the longer he stared at the famously sleepyheaded hero - ah, so that’s what he wanted; no surprise there, and no point in arguing either, he supposed, knowing Link would never take no for an answer ( and, Pipit couldn’t say he wanted to turn down such a desirable request to begin with ).

        “Patience, my friend.” Not that Link would need it, seeing as Dark’s belongings were but a few steps away. From his small collection emerged a picture of the heroic boy and his loftwing - colorful and intricately detailed, from his emerald green tunic to the vibrant, candy red feathers of his winged companion. He took one of the shorter’s hands into his own and gently placed the painting atop it before stepping away to turn his back to the hero. Truth be told, the shade was proud of the artwork itself… but not of his reasoning for making it to begin with.

        Dark had had the pleasure of eyeing Link flying the large bird many a time, both recently and when he was still a pawn of Ghirahim’s plan. As imaginative as the silverette tended to be, it was easy to lose himself within the thoughts of how it felt to ride one of the majestic creatures. The sky was calming and beautiful, even from where he stood on the Surface - he couldn’t imagine how it was above the clouds.

        … simply put, he had taken bits and pieces of his imagination and brought them to life upon paper, to which he had decided to gift to Link.

     Calloused fingers curled around it as eyes opened, and Link immediately allowed his gaze to drop to the gift settled in his hand. What his eyes met with was nothing from the list the boy had procured in his head, but that didn’t mean that he was disappointed - for this was even better.

     Link’s mouth fell open in awe at the sight of the art, eyes wide with admiration. The knight himself had a talent when it came to carving, as well as with painting his creations, but illustrations were something that the young man didn’t dabble in often - his counterpart, however, was obviously quite gifted in this area.

     “You made this... ?” The fingers of his other hand came to brush gently against the picture, his expression soon changing to that of a delighted smile. It was a gift that the boy hadn’t expected to receive, and one that he would certainly treasure always.

     “It’s not silly at all!” Blue eyes snapped up to meet with a set of reds, beaming at the shade. “I love it! I didn’t know you liked stuff like this Dark, I...”

     Needed to thank him properly. There was no hesitation as Link stepped forwards once more, arms throwing themselves around Dark in yet another embrace, though the hero was careful so as to not damage his gift. The brunet didn’t intend to leave his thanks at that though, for now he was formulating a better way of showing his gratitude.

     “You’e only ever watched me fly, right... ?” Admittedly, the brunet felt excited about what he wanted to suggest, and Link was certain that fact was seeping into his words. “How... would you like to actually come flying? With me and Kaiser?”

     Fingers brush against his cheek and neck in midst of the action, causing the blond to lean into the brief touch while it lasted. The quilt is warm and soft, perfect for falling asleep in comfortably, but with all it’s comfort there was still something lacking. After a brief moment of thought, a look of contemplation coming over the Hero of Time’s expression, it was finally realized just what was missing.

     With only a smile to tell of his planned actions, arms open wide and engulf the younger hero within the quilt’s domain, bringing the brunet down alongside him to land upon the soft bedding. A soft nuzzle with his nose against his pumpkin’s cheek, a kiss being placed upon the very spot soon after, it’s clear that the elder is pleased with himself for his actions.
