Despite being the peak target audience at the time of its release, I, a gamer kid, managed to live until the Year Two-Thousand and Twenty Two having never even seen a loading screen for Skyrim.
We’ve all seen the memes. There’s not much to be said that hasn’t been already. But until the first week of this, the year of our jarl (idk), my brain was a virginal paradise of absolute blissful ignorance toward this game. Minus one major blood-feud related spoiler that my best friend dropped on me literally as I was telling him “hey dude I finally started playing Skyrim.” If you’re reading this Austin, fuck off outta here.
Real talk I cannot claim to have zero familiarity with Bethesda entirely. I played my embarrassing share of ESO and Fallout 4 — oddly, never New Vegas even though my friends reference it constantly. So I expect to love Skyrim, but until our relationship has fully bloomed, I expect there to be a lot of swearing, saving and re-loading, and accidental killing of collateral followers (that was my b Faendal, but maybe don’t look so much like Forsworn next time).
If you follow just know that despite loving rpgs, I am absolute shit at following lore and storylines, and I’m kind of a dick player in that I far prefer stealing from innocent civilians and killing non-innocent bandits over dialogue and intrigue. I hope to somehow make it to the end of this game still not knowing what this war is all about and whos fighting in it. so, u know, my disinterest in wtf is actually going on may frustrate some. ✌🏾
