humans can be wonderful, affectionate pets. there are however some tips you should get because no one tells dragons this stuff before they make those mistakes
take them to the store and let them pick out their own bed. humans are remarkably choosy about their beds and if theirs is uncomfortable you will never stop hearing about it
temperature control is more important than everyone says it is. yeah they can survive in most environments but they probably don’t want to wear a coat all the time. consider rotating the temperature sometimes so they can wear cute outfits for different seasons
humans are social pack hunters. get them some friends! but let them pick out the friends. humans are also very choosy about who their pack is. also, most humans don’t really hunt anymore, but they still like a team coordination activity! consider giving them a way to play a team sport or a co-op video game. if it’s the latter, you can even play with them!
(most) humans aren’t cats. they won’t irreparably fuck up the environment or endanger themselves if you let them outside. in fact, many humans enjoy going places a lot as a form of enrichment. trust them. if you make a nice enough place for them, they’ll come back. it’s easy to worry about your beloved pet getting hurt or running off but it’ll be ok
your human is smart. let them talk to you. if you try to handle them and they say they don’t want to do that, don’t do it! (unless you really have to) don’t get frustrated. negotiating with humans is only as irritating as you let it be
