‘How charming.’

‘I think he’d call me a bitch since he has no reason to assume I’m a snitch.’

“You’re not allowed to shoot at cadets, I do not care who you are.”

“Example? Please. You call me that all day, every day, kids or no kids; you don’t call Fox ‘Mr. McCloud’. You don’t call Slippy ‘Mr. Toad’.” 

“Y’wanna know what I think?”

“There is a fundamental difference between you and the rest of the team. It being that they are basically my family and you are not. So I will continue to address you as formal as needed unless I am convinced otherwise.”

That might’ve been an actual smile. Should’ve brought a camera.

“Can’t I get an A for my audacity?” He asked her, leaning against her desk. “Or my animal magnetism? Or – ”

Everything was going fine. And then she noted him leaning on her desk. Again.

“Good t’see you, too, Doll.”

He reached into his pocket and pulled out … an apple. He casually tumbled it over her desk.

“Sorry I missed class. I’ll make it up in extra credit.”

“Jeeze, it’s quiet around here.”

“Ain’t you guys tired of behavin’ yourselves by now?”
