Heyyyy, so I'm still learning my way around making Paralives CC at a snail's space cuz I got bit by the Stardew Valley bug recently, but I did manage to convert my old HQ eye set thanks to @myshunosun's excellent tutorial!
I've also noticed some quirks when it comes to making eyes that I figured I would share for anyone else who's interested in making their own, so, notes on that below the read more!
Basics: If you're at all familiar with TS3 CC-making, you'll be pretty comfortable here. There's a grayscale texture and a tricolor mask that determines how colors are distributed by the game's color picker. By default, the eye "zones" are the sclera, outer iris, and inner iris, each one controlled by a different color on the tricolor mask. The texture formats are PNG, though, so no worries about fucking around with DDS files and channel layers (which is a relief for me, personally). The texture for the eye is about 150x150px, and it's spherical, so converting eyes from TS2 in particular will be difficult if you don't have a hi-res texture as your starting point. Not impossible, but difficult.
Separate textures: Each eye texture is separate so you can decide whether you want to mirror the texture or have completely different ones per eye, so that's neat! The same goes for the tricolor masks, so if you want to have slightly different coloration in each eye, you can.
Pupil dilation: The Paralives eye mesh reaaaaally stretches out the pupil. I'm not sure off the top of my head how this compares to the TS3 eye mesh, but for TS2 textures at least, you're going to have to shrink the pupil a lot to get it looking how it did in TS2.
Separate highlights: Exactly what it says on the tin. Highlights for the eyes are controlled by a separate resource in game, so you can mix and match them. Other people have already figured out how to make additional custom highlights but that's still above my current skill level. When making your eye texture, you'll want to blend out any preexisting highlights on the texture itself.
Sclera washout: Although you can put textures on the sclera of the eye, it renders weirdly in game. Any texture you put on it turns gray and light textures don't show up. I tried adding a little bit of pink and faint eye veins, but the changes ended up not showing up at all in game. It looked identical to the default sclera. However, some folks have managed to make changes to the sclera with darker texturing like these ones by CodeNekko, but it looks like the texture has to be very dark for it to show up.
Pupil lightening with saturated colors: The way the game renders eye colors, anything at 100 brightness causes the pupils to turn from black to a light gray, even if the actual color of the pupil texture is pure black (#000000). This unfortunately includes very saturated colors that aren't actually light (such as #0000ff) but are expressed with 100 brightness on the color wheel. I did a lot of fucking around trying to mitigate this, but didn't have any luck. It might be possible if there's a way to enable a fourth color channel on eyes to control the pupils separately, but I have no idea how to go about adding additional channels to eyes or if that's even possible.
Note that I might be wrong abt some stuff or it might change in early access, this is just what I have found in the course of messing around with this one little project! Okay, hope that was helpful to some folks! Back to the Stardew spreadsheet grind lol.

Job talk under the cut.
I recently applied to a nearby library, and I am really hoping I get this job because it seems perfect for me. 16/hrs per week, $11.50/hr, four hour work days. I am dreaming of this job but the reality is it's unlikely I'll get it.
The only places I would be likely to find a job easily are retail and food service, both of which are not hiring near me. Distance is a factor because our car's registration is expired, and there is no public transit within five miles of us.
I feel like I'm making the same excuses over and over again but I am trying so hard to figure this shit out. I have been following up, keeping in touch, listening to potential employers but I rarely get interviews and my anxiety makes me bad at them. I'm recording all rejections for my next SSI case.
I need a GED badly but I have no clue how to navigate getting that set up. My job coach said they can pay for it but it'll likely cost $100+ round trip to talk to my case worker (he only does in-person) and a $100+ round trip to get the GED test taken. I honestly have no idea how much it would cost altogether, or how many trips it would actually take. I am struggling with this really badly.
I put in three more apps over the weekend, including the library one. God I'm hoping for some good news soon.

Like many of us, I grew up with Garden of Shadows. To me, it was more than just a forum. It was a place I could ask for help, learn new skills and, best of all, find amazing content in any style I could possibly want. I loved the board names, the people, the themes; everything, really.
And I admit I was more than a little heartbroken to find it gone.
After mulling it over, I decided that I wanted to preserve what I possibly could. I spent a few hours yesterday running through strategies and ideas about how to best go about it, and the best I could come up with was, well, exactly the same.
So, here it is: the Garden of Shadows mirror forum.
I've only just started, but I hope to add a little bit to it every day. The primary focus will be on preserving all the knowledge and custom content. I'm tackling it myself, but if you feel so inclined, you're more than welcome to join in.

A frankensteined version of the Moneywell Computer. The main object includes the screen, speakers, keyboard and mouse and it is functional. The case is a separate object and decorative (use cheats to place it under desks). Both objects can be found in the Electronics / TV and Computers catalogue.
Known issues and differences
Sims will play the insert CD animation in the monitor when playing games. I didn't like that so I removed the CD. The animation will still play, but without the CD. Edit to clarify: in this computer.
When the computer breaks, sims will look as though they are repairing the monitor. This doesn't bother me, as broken monitors can sometimes smoke and spark (speaking from personal experience). Sims will turn the screen around when repairing it, their arms might clip through the speakers a bit when doing so.
This is not cloned from Monique's hacked PC as I don't use it. Feel free to make a clone that works with that mod.
played sims 4 for the first time and one of the married cis men had a desire to try for baby with his cis husband. i accidentally pinned it and could not unpin it. trying for baby is physically impossible. I tried to use cheats to give him a viable womb in create a sim but it wouldn’t let me do so retroactively. so I thought, maybe if they adopt the want for pregnancy will go away, and had them adopt a toddler daughter. but then the try for baby desire did not go away. since they now had an unwanted adopted child I tried to remove the toddler from the household, thinking this would send her back into the ether. it did not. instead she wanders the neighborhood like a feral cat. i thought the social worker would come and take her back so someone else could adopt her, but I guess there is no social worker in sims 4. so now the neighborhood is haunted by a smelly miserable baby that has no home but cannot die and everyone who sees her is uncomfortable. fucking omelas scenario.
OP— do ctrl+shift+C and type “testingcheats true” and then “cas.fulleditmode” into the bar, then go into CAS and change one of the sims to be able to get pregnant. mpreg is possible ALWAYS

Hi! This is an Amazon wishlist for things I usually regularly use that I have used up or have not replaced in some time. If you can help me, I would be super appreciative because the lack of some of these items is contributing to my bad mental health. I feel weird asking for any money to buy all these things, and my friends suggested I make a wishlist. If you wanted to send me a care package, this is the way.
I am in desperate need of toothpaste, laundry detergent, and the USB-C cord (to charge my phone. I have been using a Switch charger to charge my phone and uh. this kills the phone).
The power bank is incredibly expensive comparatively but one of my friends suggested adding one. If anyone is able to purchase this, it would allow me to charge my phone (in conjunction with the USB-C cord) for a few days if we get our power disconnected.
Some items are not the cheapest item for their type, but I chose known quantities. I need Sensodyne because I'm having teeth problems, Purex because I get contact dermatitis from the other detergents I've tried so far, and "fancy" lotion because I have psoriasis and only thick lotion really helps.
I have disposable dishes on the list. These are most definitely not necessities in the traditional sense but would help immensely because I have a lot of executive dysfunction.
If anything seems unreasonable and you would like to suggest a cheaper alternative, please let me know.

I've always been curious about Pandorasims' Growable Marijuana mod (found on the Booty HERE) but it's always looked a little outdated. So when @tvickiesims' Harvestable Hemp Plant with new resources showed up on my feed, I knew I just had to have it, but I didn't want to lose the functionality of the original mod.
So this mod ports TVickie's changes back to Pandorasims' MaryJane2. This version includes a custom garden plot, which will grow new version the plant. When it's ready your sim can harvest bags, which can be made into joints, or added to Pandora's Bong (which I've moved to be found in Hobbies / Recreation).
My biggest contribution is figuring out how to make the bags sellable using OFB, so your Sims can now sell out of their garage, or set up their own dispensary. The bags can also now be placed properly onto shelves. I also spent some time messing around with the catalogue descriptions/ text strings.
As a bonus, since it can't be cloned I included a replacement for the Bong using @2fingerswhiskey's 3t2 conversion of Simchimi's Bong, plus @pixelatedollhouse's 6 recolours for good measure. It looks a little funky when it's used, but so did the original.
All the files have been renamed, to make them easier to identify, so you'll need to delete the originals before putting this in your game.
