One of the things that really upset me about being pro-recovery and engaging in spaces like this is how misunderstood both points are.
People who have never struggled with an ED will say that you canโt have both, and will attribute the mere existence of these spaces as anti-recover and pro-ED. And, yeah, these spaces arenโt super healthy for people actively suffering, but neither is bed rotting completely alone and stewing in thoughts thatโll kill you.
I can say confidently that not hiding my ED sometimes is necessary. When I go through my day making up lie after lie to maintain feeling normal despite starving myself and obsessing over food, I end up never speaking to anyone and isolating myself into oblivion.
While itโs not great to be engaging with thinspo, counting calories and hoping I come across triggering content, people need to realize that I will be doing all of these things with or without tumblr. At least now I have a way to do so that allows the remainder of my day to be less miserable. I can see my friends and even if I feel misunderstood, I can come into the warm embrace of misery shared when I log in.
None of this means I want others to be miserable. If I could make it through the day knowing nobody else had an ED, that would be a better way to do it. The sad truth is, Iโm not the only one, because none of us are the only one. At least now someone can say โoh, Iโm not crazyโ and maybe even say things in writing that theyโve been hiding from their friends and family for so long.

Feeling like a wannarexic atm bc Iโm now realizing how harmful it is and how I could die and I wanna stop but I just canโt bc I hate my body and the feeling is so euphoric ugh
is it bad that i donโt WANT to look skin and bones? does that make me invalid? i want a thigh gap, completely flat stomach, slim legs and arms, collarbones and rib cage popping, but i donโt want to look sickโฆ is this the same as anyone else? or does this usually just change the skinnier you get and the deeper into ana u getโฆ

Me after coming back to anablr after a 7 month โrecoveryโ and seeing I lost 3 lbs during said โrecoveryโ and realizing I never actually recovered ๐
My Reasons
Saw someone else do this just as a reminder and as motivation <3
1. To look good in clothes
I always look so square in Literally anything tight, and summers right around the corner and ur girl doesnโt wanna have belly rolls while on the beach
2. To fit into Brandy clothing
Okay I have never tried on Brandy before, but I donโt think Iโll fit not even gonna lie. I look on the website and they all look so skinny :( i just wanna be a Brandy girl yk
3. So I can maybe find a girl that likes me (+ if she can pick me up easily)
Iโve literally only had 1 gf before but it just didnโt count bc it was 7th grade ๐ and Iโm almost a junior bruh. I just donโt feel pretty when I look 10 weeks pregnant.
4. So my collarbones, fingers, and thighs are more defined / slim down
I just wanna be able to have long elegant fingers and have my collarbones show and to be able to sit down without my thighs doubling in size :(
5. So I can look elegant in ballet class
Im getting back into dance competitions again and we have to take ballet, and I wanna look elegant and beautiful during class. Is that too much to ask for ?!โ?!&!&
