Wait do people understand that when aspecs complain about shipping, our complaint isn't "ew that's gross stop it," it's "our culture is absolutely saturated with everything sex, romance, etc, which causes me to feel like I have no place I belong--because I don't--and people who actively reinforce this at every turn instead of considering other aspects or perspectives for once in their lives sound like they, at best, don't care about us, and at worst, hate us"? Do people know this? I'm not sure they know this.

I am aware the terminology doesnt exclusively refer to one thing but I lowkey hate how "purity culture" has been watered down to someone hating sex scenes and shipping drama when a lot of it is shit like being told youre going to hell for masturbating or children being afraid to speak up about sexual abuse.
