“Charlie stop starting new projects and just vacuum your goddamn room”

You thought she was dead. So did she. And yet, here you are.

The candle melted, but the melted wax arose, and danced, around the dying flame.

As she sank into the dark below the surface of the water, she tried to remember when she had left her home in the first place.

No one but she told see the beast. Every time she looked over her shoulder it stood behind someone else, and every time she looked over her shoulder there was one less person to stand behind.

The ground caves in with every step it takes and you can only watch as your feet fall from beneath you. At its mercy, in its wake.

He wears a skull over his head because he no longer has a face. The skull used to have a face too.

Her skin was soft, and her eyes were kind, but her hands were broken and bent as if they did not fit her right.

It came to you in a dream. It’s sickly sweet perfume floating past your face. You reach out, for what you are unsure. It takes your hand.

She gave her eyes to the animals, so that they could see the way she could.

If only pretending not to see him made it so he was not there.

It walked on the legs of a bird. Though it stood taller than any man.it had no beak, though, and it’s mouth was full of teeth.

She perched herself on the edge of the cliff, unafraid of the endless darkness below her.

She wore a thin sheet veil that hung from her ears and draped low below her chin. Her neck extended long over her shoulders and sloped gracefully towards her aging face.

No one had ever seemed more normal. But that’s what made him so odd. His smile was so bright it seemed dark.

She could run, but only so far. It could run too, and much further than she would ever dream of running. It was miles behind her but she knew it was there. Catching up.
