So Tumblr will ban adult content in a unexplainable move against one of its most engaged community. Probably under the pressure of Apple who recently banned the Tumblr’s iOS app.

RIP Tumblr.

So what’s next? Where to go?

I am looking for an alternative, probably like all of you.

But an alternative that could be up to our standards :

Community based approach

Micro blogging approach

Ability to follow other users

Ability to like and repost posts

Ability to add comments

Support for videos, images galleries, text and more

A private messaging feature

And of course, no discrimination.

Mobile first and a great mobile app

Ability to transfer all data from Tumblr to the new platform (thanks GDPR)

No discrimination doesn’t mean no rules at all. Child pornography, hate speech, racism, homophobia, call to violence can be prevented, banned and the accounts involved suspended, banned. Those are illegal (at least in my country) and shall be punished. Everyone is responsible of one’s own actions. But nudity and pornography are not illegal!

So Tumblr is dead. Long live…?
