biancaruiz: I actually liked this blog. Worth reading and it's very informative Women should never be treated like that. It's just so sad.
phoebeugarte: LET'S FIGHT WOMEN!
glenkristine: I'm a guy but honestly, I will never do something like that to any woman. It's just so gay to hit women lol
_kate: Women should have equal rights as men. Nobody should be inferior than the other.
isupportfeminism: I support the feminism post. lol obviously it's my username
rizaphan: Everyday, I see countless women, they maybe smiling outside but we'll never know what they feel inside.
carsonrusell: I'm a guy too but I support feminism
lisamae: I used to have a neighbor which used to be abused, I can hear the loud voices of her partner. But now she's okay. Her partner's in jail.
femalesinaction: I stand up for women. Just because we wear make up and heels, that doesn't make us weak!
angie_louise: I agree with the comment above me. I do carpentry at home when my husband's not around. What men can do can be done also by women.
sheilamarie: A guy who hits a woman is not deserving to get married. If he's abusive as a boyfriend, there's a greater chance he's more abusive when he's a husband.
iamfarrah: I am quite sad about knowing that how gentle a woman is, some men take it for granted. It's so heartbreaking. Tell me I'm being emotional but it's true.
joanacastaneda: Being a filipina woman, I am against violence against women. Why? I am a feminist and I demand abusive men to be punished.
lanatordezado: Ladies must not be abused, ladies are like flowers, bringing color in a prairie. And guys, WITHOUT A WOMAN, you are nothing.
kcastro: I am a guy and I have a bestfriend which is a girl so I know what a woman feels when she's hurt verbally, physically and emotionally. So all I can say is, guys who hit girls are gay!
kyle_tor38: I have a sister and I have a mom, so it is not right to hurt women, especially the women we love. Women who are mothers, should never be battered, 'cause without them, there's no us.
ginagarcesp: I am a woman who values womanhood as much as you people do. So in my opinion, just a single slap from a guy, report them immediately! Because if not, it may continue until it becomes worse!
royceb: I am a guy but I support the rights of a woman. Because a guy is nothing without them.
ninacapua: I am a teenager and I'm a girl, I support feminism even at my age. I am a woman, I should stand for my right.
shanekubow: I may not have a sister but I have my mom, she is a woman. And if somebody hurts her, I am going to kill whoever touches her, same for other women.
justinkubow: I have female friends but that doesn't make me gay. And it's very wrong to hit girls. And whoever hits one should land in jail.
gloriapcolo: I am a woman myself and I will never let anyone try to hit me. Because one slap or blow that hits me, I will never be afraid to stand up and fight for my rights.
malourdes: I support a woman's right to choose. Why? Because, quite rightly, I am a woman and I do feel the pinch as my fellow women. Secondly it is a woman's fundamental right and above all, we were all equally created by God. Finally, we are dependable on each other. So why this slavish behavior on women?
katemonique: We should all support a woman's right to choose. It's her life not anyone else's and that is the reason why most of us want our freedom to choose. If your religion or religious beliefs do not concur with others, so what? It's not your decision. Everyone has to make their own decisions in this world. Women don't ask the world what education to pursue, so let women decide what's best for their physical health.
christinearceo: I think feminism is necessary, but often misused. Many people are unaware of how unequal the men/women situation still is, and it is important that we work towards fixing this. There are so many injustices involving women it's ridiculous, and I consider myself a feminist.
ninamaelahoy: Feminism can be good but it can also be a very bad thing. I am not a feminist either but I can understand where these women get it from. Women have been pushed aside for years and years and they just want to speak up and be treated equally. However, the women who go over the top with the whole feminist idea are kind of ridiculous. Some say the reason chivalry is dead is because of feminism and I'd have to agree. It's okay to be a little bit of a feminist but when you get offended when a man does something as simple as opening a door for you, then you need to check yourself.
juliemendez: "FEMinism" comes from "FEMale"
airishrain: Because that's all feminism fights for: women's rights.
"Feminism supports equality, not superiority of women over men."
daisyjane: The feminist actually looking for equality between men and women are perfectly fine. The ones that go to the extremes (the ones that are usually publicized) are the ones I can not stand. They seem to think that women deserve more than men and this is not true. They use the " we birth the children" to justify their actions, but the men work and have to do their own things too. What do they expect, the men to start birthing the children? It's impossible and will never happen and even if that did they would find something else to complain about that the men "don't do enough of" or "don't know how it feels"
cherrybutcon: Feminism or feminists are just fine in my book. Without feminism I would not be where I am.
malenbrusas: I like feminists. I am trying to be one. My father and mother raise me to be a strong and independence.
However, I do not hate men. Men are okay. There are some good men and bad men.
joyposesano: This is absolutely true and is my motivation for being a feminist entirely. If you really examine the position of women even in contemporary society, it is obvious we have made great strides but we are not there yet.
angelceniza: Part of the problem I have seen being a male is that many live in very horrible and very unhealthy relationships. I see interaction and things said between supposed lovers that raise a red flag of coming abuse. It starts early with honest issues and major betrayal. Being effed over if you know what I mean.
nelsoncolo: Individual feminists and even organizations may have done things that have offended some people but no one can please everyone all the time and there are millions and millions of feminists and we should not all have to answer for others we have no control over. The basic tenets of feminism are sound and that is all that matters to me.
Women can't get out from it or get away either. They become emotional prisoners and feel it's their fault and the guys resent them more for being supportive or emotionally available. That's just one concept. The key is not to accept any red flags and go with your gut. End bad relationships with honesty and strong will.
josephneil: Domestic Violence does nothing but highlight the perpourtraitors low self esteem and self loathing, aswell as highlighting their insecurities.
tessiepcolo: Feminists are always saying it's about equal rights but only to convert ACTUAL equal rights' activists' onto their side. In reality, feminism is about gaining more power and advantage for men.
lanator_38: We have a bullying male controlling society, its not too difficult to work this out...... My big concern is woman now seem to want to equal men, especially in business, we are now seeing woman developing some of the negitive traits of men, shame as I always thought of the females of this world as the wiser ones
ginagarces: I do think that women and men are politically, socially and economically equal - and consequently, I am trying to rid the world of the institutions that try to do things like the above.
In some relationships, violence arises out of a perceived need for power and control, a form of bullying and social learning of abuse. Abusers' efforts to dominate their partners have been attributed to low self-esteem or feelings of inadequacy, unresolved childhood conflicts, the stress of poverty, hostility and resentment toward women (misogyny), hostility and resentment toward men (misandry), personality disorders, genetic tendencies and sociocultural influences
ninamaelahoy: I have never suffered from domestic but i have friends that have. i have actually known her for about twenty years. we have stuck together for a very long time. i have been there for her since day one. her husband used to beat her anytime he felt threatened by her. atleast that was his excuse. she let him do it for atleast three years. i always tried to give her advice her husband was also very close to hitting me because i was defending her. one day i went to her house because she needed a baby sitter for her 3 kids. when i got there she was in the bathroom floor bleeding that was the last time i let that bastard do that to my friend. i wiped her blood got her kids and put them in the car.she thought we were going to the hospital but we went to the police station instead. she just cried and cried. he was sent to jail. she held it against me for some time but now we are back to normal. she thanks me to this day. for those women out there that think there is no way out. there is. and if ur excuses are that ur doing it for the kids or that you love him. trust me its worse that the kids are being exposed and do you really want to love someone who doesnt love you back.
christinearceo: I think the way to prevent domestic is by educating our young people to respect themselves. If we love and respect ourselves we can make better choices in our life. This gives us confidence which will give us the inner-strength to get out of terrible, dangerous situations where domestic violence occurs.
relynrojo: I don't think the rate of domestic violence is rising, I think we're seeing it more because it used to be so taboo and kept behind closed doors and now it isn't quite so much.
nallosmuriella: I think that feminism isn't supported by a majority of people so some women don't support feminism because being a feminist is not considered cool and feminists get shunned
espana_joyce: The feminist movement in general is tied in with liberalism.
Conservative women tend to feel their way of life is threatened and/or insulted by feminist policies and ideologies.
charisseponce: So how about an organisation to step in and provide proper help. Steer the damaged into counselling, provide shelter for the urgent cases and respite for people so they can work through their issues without being right in the middle of it all the time. Sure, there are voluntary organisations that do help, but it's obviously not enough.
juliemendez: I think it is about empowerment. You will often find that the abuser (be it man or woman) is un-empowered in other parts of their life, and that their partner is the one thing that they can control.
gianneolita: I think we need to start w/ the little ones. Teach a girl from the time she is little that she deserves to be w/ someone who respects her. The options for someone who has been a victim of domestic violence need to be more easily accessible
shaninep: domestic violence is a very difficult issue. its easy to say that we can help but how can we help if the victims themselves dont want to cooperate, victims of these kind violence chooses to keep in silence to avoid the nieghbors gossip and the talk of the town. a best thing to do it to have a support group in the community
alexiscumba: Women and men abuse eachother mentally and physically equally. Men report it less, and when they do they are laughed at or ignored. When men are abused by women, and it is not seen as abuse. How can a man that abuses see himself as doing a wrong. Want to stop it? Put the truth out there, and then educate people that abuse others mentally and physically.
maryangelcolo: They say that because they do not understand the reality. It is hard to see past their own privilege. Oddly enough, the inability to see past privilege, is part of privilege. It's like they are staring through a window, and trying to tell us there is no glass there. If they would only walk forward, and run into the damn thing, they would finally see it! But we can't force them to see something they don't want to.
