HELLO I'M BACK!!! I can finally share what I've been working on these past months (other than studying that is, I finally did my exam! On the same day the st patrick's day parade happened in my city where I participated with my irish dance class... it's been crazy)

I had the honour to do these two illustrations for Emmet Taylor to go with their presentation on trophy heads in medieval irish literature. It was a delight to do them, I can't believe this is the first time I've drawn Conall (won't be the last, he's fun to draw). I also spent too much time looking through the digital archives of archeology museums for more or less period accurate jewelry and weapons to put in these. It was really fun.

So the first illustration features Cú Chulainn, in a scene from Fled Bricrenn ('Bricru's Feast'); in wich my poor guy comes back from single-handledly killing like thirty guys and a sea monster. Another tuesday for him, I guess. I have to admit I had way too much fun painting all the blood...

The second one, features Conall (and also Cú Chulainn, and also Lóegaire) in a scene from Aided Chonchobair ('Violent Death of Conchobar') (excelent title if you ask me); where he is showing of the calcified brain of a king he'd killed to prove he's the coolest of the three. As one does.
