Let’s talk about it. Cause. Oh BOY do I have a lot to say.

I might make another post actually talking about some of the other stuff that happened in this issue, but for now as a lover of both Talia and the members of the Al Ghul family I wanna talk about some stuff that happened in this issue

I will point out other parts in this page when I talk about them but I want yall to see the full page first

I think this was bullshit, that feels like Bruce throwing both Talia and Damian under the bus just to justify himself to someone he really doesn’t know all that well. This is just bad overall and this entire removed or rewritten cause even people who hate Damian and the Al Ghuls don’t like this (will show refs later)

First let’s talk about Talia’s design (she’s in pink again but at what cost)

I’m not here to debate on whether she should be brown like in a lot of more modern comics or pale like when he was first shown. I like a lot of her drawings where she’s brown, but I think as long as she’s darker than Bruce or Tim I’m most fine.

But why is she this kind of yellow-ish color. Like. Idk making a mixed Chinese character a pale yellow just feels like it shouldn’t exactly be the move we are going for.

I know this run also has Damian being crazy pale, but at least he’s not yellow

I also feel like styling and coloring the hair the way they did makes her less recognizable since she normally has brown hair that’s straight at the top/near her face

Next referencing Son of the Demon only to imply some BULLSHIT that Grant Morrison made up calling Talia a rapist which was previously retconned unless they are trying to bring it back for some unknown and ungodly reason

This is really just one big contradiction to the comic they are referencing

Unorthodox Cultural Traditions

Really, Matt?? He this in the new issue and it’s insane. Especially when they’ve taken away a lot of the more ethnic features we’ve seen her with in more modern issues and comics

If I was Annika I might personally start questioning whether or not Bruce fucken Wayne is a racist

Who says that

Saying my aristocratic foreign ex who raised my kid outside of America raised him with “unorthodox cultural traditions”

Like. She doesn’t know about the League so why air out Talia’s life and Damian’s involvement and water down a more complex issue and topic as unorthodox.

And to then describe you Arab-Chinese son as a ticking time bomb who needs to be dismantled and made stronger

It feels so dehumanizing and just a bizarre way to refer to your son.

And on top of that to say make “it” stronger

He’s a kid. He’s your kid Bruce so dehumanizing your own son is insane, epescially doing that in front of this woman you barely even know, like you are trying to put him down to justify something to her.

And calling this all a job. Not that he wanted to help his son and to help his son want to strive to be a good and better person considering just how empathetic Damian really is

But no according to this Damian was just something he needed to Fix.

and by the way telling her that to "tame" you "unruly" and "bratty" Arab-Chinese son you sent him to risk his life fighting crime in Gotham, is actually SO AWFUL.

If I was her I would wanna stay away from him so bad

And the only for Bruce to through Damian under the bus just like he did with Talia

Now this specific part oh GOD did it piss me off

Talia loves Damian. That’s her son. Now have a lot of racist fucked with all of that? Of course they have

But at the end of the day

She wanted something better for Damian. She wanted her son to get away from a lot of what happened in the league that she could not. She spent his whole life protecting him in anyway she would and that sometimes meant she also had to hurt him to make sure she could stay in his life

To say she just left Damian with Bruce to torture him or the make him “suffer” is wrong on so many ways. Thats not who Talia is and that's not why she gave Damian to Bruce. The misunderstanding of her character in this a issue where she was one TALKED about and not even a character is gross.

Bruce in the past would never say any of this about Talia

It feels like Fractions has only ever read Grant Morrison’s run or has got ome interanal biases he needs confront like fucken yesterday cause this feels like some slap in the face at this point

Just because characters like the Al Ghuls have a history of their writing being rooted in racism and caricatures does NOT mean you should keep writing them that way, or keep trying to make them these much more one dimensional type villians even in the case of Talia who was prev written to be much more complex

Other reviews from people who like and dislike Damian, all basically agreeing that this was all so weird and not needed. It truly was so pointless and bad

And I’m gonna be real

I ain’t got a single clue as to what is going on in this run as of rn

Straight up no real idea. I feel like I’m missing context or something

Let’s talk about it

I overall liked this issue, tho I do feel a little so so on Damian’s characterization within this book, but that is neither here nor there

I liked seeing Jon still protect this younger version of “himself” despite this version being Ultramans son, and that realization that he hurt both Jon and his own kid

And seeing Jon choose to let himself stay in that volcano, because “he turned out just fine” is so interesting, like it makes a lot of sense for his character, but also makes a lot of sense for his character at the end of the day

I feel like this whole scene can also be used to show the ways that Jon often minimizes his own pain or past traumas that we see him experience

But I do love him sort of taking this role to protect this other version of himself, this is a kid who can be good we’ve seen it.

I really hope we do get to see Tomorrow Man go on this mission to save Earth-3 Jon, I actually would like to see this kid get a real chance and work through the trauma that he has

Honestly I feel like a lot of that can depend on what characters you like, but I can and will totaly tell you some I personally really liked and some stuff for a couple of different characters.

Also because you said you want to expend a comic library, I tried to make sure these are ones that are fairly easy to get online or in irl book/comic shops

Top ones I've read personally

Mr.Terrific Year One- You get both his first time as Mr.Terrific and him in the persent. The art in this book is so good, and the trade back, just came outearlier this year. It is one of my favorite reads of this year

Robin: Son of Batman- this is about Damian trying to make up for some of the bad things he did when in the league, and where you get to meet his first real friend

The Boy Wonder- A non Canon Damian Wayne book, but it is just so good. Juni Ba did amazing with this character study on him and does a great job at explaining his character too the reader and the portals of everyone in this book is so good and very interesting. This is def one of my favorite Damian books I've ever read

New History of the DC: The Dakota Incident- This is a single issue and all about the Milestone stories (Static, Icon and Rocket, etc). This is not like the other "New History of the DC Universe" series, this is DC's pretty good way at weaving the milestone characters into the DC Proper universe.

Absolute Martain Manhunter- The series has just ended and the second volume is coming out next month. This has great art and has been known to do more experimental things in the comic that actually requires you to do more physical things with the book and show your impact.

Absolute Wonder Woman- While it is a Absolute Series, this is probably one of the most acurate current story on Diana's character and who she is at her core. The world and her lore/story seems to be handled with a lot of care and is one of the bet Absolute series

Absolute Green Arrow & Catwoman- Both of these series have just started and are both so far so amazing. They both do have a bit of a mystery apect to them, tho they are very different, I would try to at least check out stuff about them

Who is Wonder Woman?- This story asks the question of who is wonder woman, and who is Diana. It's a very solid book that I just loved

Compacts (for a more affordable option)

Under the Red Hood- Jason comes back from the dead and we get to see how he acts and what he does when back in Gotham. Overall it's really fun to read especially if you like Jason

Far Sector- I would recommend getting this as a trade back or at least not a reg comic, because Jamals art in this comic is so beautiful. You get to see the Green Lantern Jo on a planet that does not feel or deal with emotions and seeing her use her past experiences to deal with real issues on this planet

Static Shock: Season One- This is another one of my favorites, you get to see virgil get his powers and become a hero, and seeing the very serious ways this event impacted the people who got powers in the incident

Other books I really like

Batman and Robin: 2011- This is Bruce and Damian's time as batman and robin, it's pretty long but they just recame out with the book versions of this story. I would liek to mention that Damina does die around book 2 and you get to see Bruce deal with that

Batman and Robin Dawn of DC into All In- You get to see Bruce and Damians relationship develop and Bruce really try to get close to his son. There is a brief amount of character regression for Damian, but it is there to reframe aspects of him and show how it effects him and really grow PKJ did a really good job with this

Nightwing by Dan Watters- This is a pretty solid story and dan watters has been doing such an amazing job writing nightwing

Zatanna by Jamal Campbell- both his current ongoing run and his prev mini series, the art again is so beautiful and his characterization of her is so much fun

I would also like to recomment Wonder Womans, New 52 run, her rebirth run, and her run by Gail Simone. This are all such great runs of Wonder Woman and her character at her core

another good book Is the Demon Trilogy, which is about Batman and Talia, before Grant Morrison tried to change their relationship and pretend like they where not in love. Batman new 52 was also one of the better new 52 books written by Scott Snyder

This series has officially been extended to 12 issues

Let’s mini yap about it

So I really liked this issue and overall there’s not all that much I have to say about it

Except for the ending

Firstly let’s just get some background info about this issue. In this issue Harley tells Bruce about her backstory/childhood, in this we learn that her father or at least the person who claimed to be her father is Jack Grim aka the Joker

Bruce is not being very receptive to the story and thus never actually hears the end

His actions also cause the split between the Batman and the Red Hood gang I think they might pose work together in the end but for now he is going to have to deal with this

But the main thing that stuck with me this issue was the ending

Bruce goes to his father’s grave and ends up digging it up. He’s not sure why. He knows his dad is dead and he’ll be in the coffin, but when he opens it he sees it’s empty and then gets a call from Scarecrow

And fuck. Dude this kind just felt awful. Bruce has been through so much in this and for them to just add this on top of it

I feel so bad for Thomas as well, and him stating that they promised they would just let Bruce think he was dead. God

So I’ve been reading Barbara Gordon Breakout, which is a great comic run so far I’m really enjoying seeing Barbara not as Batgirl.

And when reading I’ve noticed this like. Weird aversion they have to calling Cass Batgirl, despite her also being Batgirl.

Nightwing on the next page calls Barbara Batgirl only for her to later call herself Oracle

I think I’d prefer if they just kept calling her Oracle, I feel like calling her Batgirl ignores all the time we saw her as Oracle

Let’s talk about them

It’s the last day of Pride Month and I’ve spent everyday talking about a different Queer characters, where I provided info and lore about the character and what comics they are currently in or even what events they might be apart of

But I thought on the last day it would be fun to talk about all the different DC characters that are kinda sort implied queer or are only queer in different worlds like the Arrowverse or Young Justice so on

Just cause. It’s actually a pretty weirdly long list. I honestly never realized just how many character are only Queer in these shows

this might not be everyone, but it's at least a good amount, I will also be noting the specific ones I wish were queer in canon runs

Let's get to it

Jackson Hyde

While yes he is queer in canon dc, in Young Justice (Earth-16) he is Bi and Poly, which is just an interesting change so I thought I would not it

Captain Cold

Is Pansexual in the Arrowverse CW show The Flash and specifically stated as Gay and with the Ray in Earth-10 within the Arrowverse. I would be fine with him being Pan, and I'm gonna be so real with y'all I love Captain Cold he's gotta be one of my favorite villains and him and the Rogues are so much fun

Mr. Terrific

Is gay in the Arrowverse, and if I'm being real I don't know how well I think this would work if it was at all canon, but in the Arrowverse then sure since I know he had basically very different lore in the show

White Canary

Is bisexual in the arrowverse in both the show the Arrow and DC Legends of Tomorrow and honestly I do not know about her outside of this world to say my feelings about it

I will also say there are insteresting choices they made with her in this world

Bart Allen

Impulse is described as Achillean in Young Justice which I actually find like an interesting choice, that made more sense then anything else. Plus I do feel as though you don't here enough about achillean all that much)

El Dorado

He is also described as Achillean in Young Justice, where much like Bart its canon but never outright said, but you can see him and Bart go on dates

I kinda like his design in the Young Jutice show, but I don't know a lot about him in general so I'm not sure if its weird considering this lore or anything but the outfit kinda fucks ngl

Halo

is nonbinary and queer in Young Justice

The character is redesigned and the storyline changed. Halo is now the reanimated body of Gabrielle Daoa, a Quraci refugee who had been kidnapped and used for metahuman trafficking.

Lagoon Boy

Bi and Poly in Young Justice. much to his dismay, saying Gamma always gets the "soft job". When he talks he uses many atlantean slang words. He is also shown to have the abilities to breath underwater and Enhance his strength with rune like tattoos, like Aqualad's

Nora West-Allen

XS is a Lesbian in the the Flash tv show, and I will be honestly I lowkey thought she was a Lesbian in canon. Also I forgot how much I love a lot of her art in the comics, she has such a good design

Joshua Williamson has stated that XS will show up at somepoint in the upcoming Legion of Superheroes book, so if you do like her as a character checking that out might be worth it

Penguin

Specifically queer and has feelings for the Riddler in the later half of the Gotham tv show. I would also like to mention that I really liked this show and his character within that show

Lena Luthor

Is interested in women within the Smallville tv show, I also thought she was queer in the supergirl show, but maybe all those edits got me

Tess Mercer was born as Lutessa Lena Luthor as the daughter of Lionel Luthor and Pamela Jenkins. After a few years, Lutessa was give up to an orphanage, run by Granny Goodness. Granny trained Lutessa to become the leader of her personal team - the Female Furies

Livewire

Is a lesbian in both the Harley Quinn show and in My Adventures with Superman

A popular vlogger who was well known for her makeup tutorials and pranks, Leslie Willis attempted to pull her biggest prank yet by rerouting Metropolis’ power grid to spell out a dirty word that could be seen from space. Her device was taken by Superman, but she insisted on attempting to carry out her plot anyways. When it went awry she was electrocuted, and so gained her electrokinetic powers

Stephanie Brown

Is specifically Bisexual in the Gotham Knights tv show.

Stephanie Brown is the daughter of Cluemaster. When he comes back into her life she finds her father back to his old tricks, except he no longer feels the need to leave clues behind. In an attempt to try and stop her father she created a costume of her own and began to call herself the “Spoiler”

Personally I love Stephanie Brown and I vote they make her Bi in canon and the reason dc won't do it is because they are cowards

Dr. Light (Hoshi), Big Barda, Lois Lane, Supergirl, Vixen, Hawkwoman, Mera, and Nell Little

Are all Sapphic or Bisexual are all in DC Bombshells, I'm not sure what was going on in that series that so many characters where queer but honeslty good for them

Let’s talk about him

It’s the second to last day of pride month and considering how big of a character Tim is you’d assume I would’ve done one of these for him sooner

But I’m a asshole and I waited this long to spite my friend who loves him. As all good besties must do. He would’ve gone last but I have a plan for tomorrow so I had to do his now

But great news for my dear friend cause I accidentally wrote a novel. I’m sorry for everyone else.

I will say all of this is a more simplified version of his history as a don’t know all of his lore and he’s been in well over 1,000 stories since he first debuted back in June of 1989

Tim Drake was the 3rd Robin, and formerly operated under the alias Red Robin before going back to Robin and as of now he has fully left any superhero role tho I’m unsure how long that is going to last

Tim Drake is the son of Jack and Janet Drake. When he was a child, he visited the circus with his parents and managed to get a photo with the Graysons before the show. That night, Tim met Dick Grayson before the young acrobat's parents were assassinated.

Tim Drake had followed Batman and Robin's career ever since the murder of the Flying Graysons. One day, he saw the original Robin on television performing a move he had seen Dick Grayson perform at the circus; he quickly made the connection that Dick Grayson was Robin, and after learning that Dick Grayson was the ward of Bruce Wayne, he realized that Bruce Wayne was Batman

After the death of Jason Todd, Batman grew more violent and reckless. Tim noticed that this wasn't in Batman's true character, and he sought Dick's help. At this time, Dick was going by the code-name Nightwing. Tim tried to convince Dick to retake the mantle of Robin, saying it was the only way to keep Batman sane. Dick partially agreed to this, but said that he would only help Batman as Nightwing.

Tim did not like Dick's decision, maintaining that Batman needed a Robin. Eventually, he was able to get Alfred to assist in altering the Robin costume so that he could help Batman himself. Alfred and Dick gave Tim their approval as the new Robin, but only so he could keep Batman sane. However, Batman protested that he did not want a new partner, while noting Tim's potential. Eventually, Batman accepted Tim as Robin under one condition: Tim had to endure physical and mental training before he could become Robin so that he would not suffer the same fate as Jason Todd

Tim distinguished himself from Jason Todd by being far more reserved in temperament and from Dick Grayson by being more of a detective and less of a great acrobat

In the Knightfall storyline, Tim was in Gotham when Bane broke open Arkham Asylum and unleashed almost all the inmates. Tim was the first person to suggest to Batman that it was Bane who was responsible for these actions.

Robin was with Alfred when Bane broke Batman's back and threw him from a roof top in downtown. They acquired an ambulance and took Bruce back to the Batcave. Robin wanted to take Bruce to hospital but it was too big of a risk to expose all the identities of the Bat Family. All Robin could do is stay by Bruce's bedside and pray. Thankfully Bruce did not die but when he woke up, he was psychologically scarred, as his defeat to Bane came as a big blow to Bruce mentally [in addition to his broken back]. Tim could barely stand to watch his mentor so shattered but he stayed the course, helping Alfred recruit Dr. Shondra Kingsolving to be Bruce's personal physician. Once Bruce was in better spirits, Tim talks about the escalating violence and gang war in Gotham. Tim told Bruce about how someone should step in as Batman while Bruce heals. Bruce agrees but turns down Tim's suggestions that Nightwing should take the mantle of Batman, saying he is his own man now with his own responsibilities (the real reason that Bruce did not want Dick to take the mantle is because he was scared that Dick would run into Bane and get injured like he did), so Bruce picked Azrael (Jean-Paul Valley). Tim gave Azrael the Batman costume, which Azrael modified.

Bruce's condition was partially heartbreaking for Robin, given that his father, Jack, was still learning how to use his body parts again after coming out of his coma. Robin went out on patrol with the new Batman and was dismayed with the amount of violence Azrael used to capture the criminals and Tim had to keep reminding Azrael that there was more to being Batman than just a costume, but Azrael became more and more lost in his role and actually killed a criminal. Bruce realized that if Bane worked out his identity that meant he knew Tim's as well. Bruce's hunch was right and he and Alfred set of to the Drake home to rescue Jack who had been kidnapped.

Tim wanted to go and save his father but Bruce told Tim that Azrael needed him and that Bruce would go and save him. Azrael kept getting more and more violent and started to reject Tim. Tim also found himself spending more time with Nightwing, and the two eventually established an almost perfect partnership stopping many villains together. Tim told Dick that he felt responsible for Azrael's recklessness. Dick told Tim that it wasn't his fault and that he was surprised that Bruce did not ask him to take the mantle.

Tim came across Azrael fighting Bane on a railway. Robin manages to save the people on the train as the new Batman beats Bane. And much to the relief of Robin, Azrael does not kill Bane. Although Azrael did not kill Bane he was still acting reckless.

All Tim said is that Azrael is out of control and has locked himself in the bat cave. Bruce decided to take the mantle back by force; this meant a trip to Lady Shiva for a crash course to get him back to his peak. Tim was very happy that Bruce and his father were back safely.

Bruce "graduated" from Shiva's training with the support of Robin and Nightwing but Bruce wanted to face Azrael alone. Bruce beat Azrael, but instead of starting as Batman straight away, Bruce decided that he needed some time off to train more. Bruce gave the mantle to the man who should got it the first time: Dick Grayson. The new Batman and Robin got along very well and again formed a near perfect partnership. After some time, Bruce returned and Dick gave back the mantle of Batman and regained his identity as Nightwing. Tim and Dick have formed a brotherly bond and often team up.

The conclusion of "Knightfall" was the beginning of Robin's solo series. Although he would still frequently be a "guest" in the regular Batman titles (and likewise Batman would "guest" in his), he now had his own adventures in his own title. Many storylines and arcs would crossover between the two titles, such as "Knightquest", "Knightsend", "Prodigal", "Contagion", and "No Man's Land".

As Robin, Tim was a member of Young Justice and leader of the Teen Titans. It was during his tenure teamed with other young heroes that he learned valuable lessons that Bruce could never have taught him, such as the importance of friends. He forged many long-lasting relationships, most notably with Superboy.

After the death of his father during Identity Crisis, and his best friend during Infinite Crisis, Robin left Gotham City for stint in Bludhaven. It was during this time that Tim, immersed in grief, sought to re-clone his friend and donned a new costume in homage to Conner.

Upon his return to Gotham City, Tim was formally adopted by Bruce. He continued to operate as Robin in Gotham City right up until Batman's apparent death in Final Crisis.

When Tim returns to the Young Justice, the whole team decided to vote for a leader instead of letting Tim retake leadership. Wonder Girl wins the election, but Tim worked closely with Wonder Girl, helping her with leadership, and the team still looked to Tim for tactical advice. Young Justice eventually disbanded after the death of Donna Troy. Robin, Superboy, Impulse, and Wonder Girl would go on to join the new Teen Titans and fight alongside Cyborg, Starfire, and Beast Boy. Even though Robin was one of the younger member and was not the leader of the Titans (Cyborg was the leader), Tim often took leadership amongst the younger members.

I don’t know much about Tim but I do know that I love THIS SPECIFIC SUIT

Currently Tim is dating Bernard Dowd in canon. Who fans seem to be split on, but personally. I do like him a lot actually.

He’s a bit of a conspiracy theorist pointing out to Tim when they where in high school that Stephanie Brown has become the newest Robin, as well as presenting his theory that Batman owns secret orphanages through which he selects children to become Robin when the previous ones die, as well as Batman working for a secret shadow government that runs everything.

He eventually is targeted by the Warlock's daughter, formerly Darla who has been revived by magic on his way towards a date with a girl named Linda. Warlock's daughter promptly dismantles his car, suspending him in the air demanding to know where Tim Drake has moved to, once she reveals her identity the two have coffee at a diner where Bernard reveals Tim has moved to Bludhaven following the gang wars.

Tim has also appeared in many different animated shows and movies and even possibly going to be in the new Batman Knightfall,which I have also heard many people calling this the most accurate version of Tim Robin they’re seen in an animated piece of media

Tim appears as Red Robin in Batman Unlimited: Animal Instincts, voiced by Yuri Lowenthal. This marks the character's animated debut as Red Robin.

He’s also in Batman: Gotham by Gaslight

He shows up in s2 as Robin in the show Young Justice

Tim also appears in Batman: Death in the Family

He makes another appearance as Red Robin in both Batman Ninja and Batman Ninja vs the Yakuza League

He’s also made at least one or two appearances as Robin in Teen Titans Go

Tim is also technically the Robin in Batman the new adventures, but he does more act and have a similar story to Jason Todd so idk if you can really count it. That version of his character also makes an appearance in Static Shock and Batman Beyond Return of the Joker

Tim Drake appears as a major character in the third season of Titans (I thought that show ended after two seasons I guess it had four so this was a shock to me) In the fourth season, Tim officially joins the team and begins undergoing training to become the new Robin. Bernard was a major character in the series final season, as the head of Star Labs, where he would help the Titans in their missions. He would guide Beast Boy through Superboy's bloodstream, and give Tim advice on how to be a hero. Tim & Bernard like the comics would end up forming a relationship, with Bernard helping Tim in becoming the newest Robin.

GAMES

Cause he’s been in his fair share of those

Robin is playable in Batman: Rise of SinTzu.

Tim is in Batman: Arkham City but is only playable through the challenge maps. Tim has his own set of combat moves as well as gadgets. He is playable on every map and comes with two additional maps, Black Mask Hideout and Freight Train Escape. Robin makes a small cameo in the story. He is sent into Arkham City by Alfred to deliver the Line Launcher to Batman who then gives him a sample of his blood for testing. He is later heard talking to Oracle. Robin appears in the final DLC titled "Harley Quinn's Revenge" as a playable character, along with Batman

Young Justice: Legacy

All of the Lego Batman games (I think I’m not 100% sure on this actually so don’t quote me on it)

Batman: Arkham Knight aka the game with Bald Tim tm. In this game, he and Commissioner Gordon are kidnapped by Scarecrow, who forces Batman to reveal his identity to the world. In the epilogue, he is shown to have married Barbara Gordon.

Gotham Knights he is one of the four main playable character

For those of you who don’t know Tana Moon is one of Kon-El’s first girlfriends (she might be the first but I don’t know enough about Kon to know for sure)

She was around the age of 23 and Kon was about 16

Also I will warn you THERES A LOT HERE

So overall we actually don’t know much about his backstory, but we do know that he was abused both physically and sexually by his parents while growing up

Black's team, the Elite, gained worldwide popularity for viciously killing their foes and thus preventing them coming back to cause more problems.When Black and his Elite came to Metropolis, they were opposed by Superman, the city's protector , who disagreed with their tactic of wanton violence, leading to a showdown on Jupiter's moon Io that was videotaped for the Earth's media

Black used his powers to give Superman a stroke, and his teammate Coldcast apparently was able to destroy Superman using a giant explosion. While the Elite were gloating, however, Superman used his superspeed to seemingly kill all the team members, except for Black; After fleeing back to Earth and being pursued by Superman, the Man of Steel disabled the Englishman by using his x-ray vision to locate an unusual growth on Black's brain. He identified the growth as the source of Black's powers, and then carefully fired a thin burst of heat vision through Black's retinas and told Black that he had cut out the growth (he had actually given Black a micro-concussion that left him temporarily powerless).

Faced with the apparent loss of his powers, Black actually wept, hypocritically appalled that Superman had seemingly adopted the lethal tactics he and the Elite had spent so much time advocating. Superman then revealed to the powerless Black that the rest of the Elite were only unconscious, he had not removed anything from Black's brain, and that murdering opponents makes a hero no better than his enemies. Furious, Black declared that by not killing him, Superman had guaranteed that as long as Black was alive, he would come after Superman again and again, but Superman calmly replied that he wouldn't want it any other way, and that dreams like the ones he gave to Earth were what made life worth living.

After the war, Black mentally controlled dozens of super-villains by revealing Superman's secret identity and sending them in mass after the Man of Steel.

Black was stunned at Superman's fortitude, and as his spirit wavers, his mental spell crumbles, and it is revealed that Lois is still alive; Black was trying to force Superman into a position where he would have to kill a man, but his plan failed despite all the lengths Black went to. Distraught at the revelation that he had become a villain himself, Black made the supervillains forget that Superman is really Clark Kent, and then used his telekinetic powers to take his own life.

Manchester Black only appears halfway through the arc, where we learn that he orchestrated this grand plan where Kathy and her dad (Cobb) turn evil and threathen Clark, Lois and Jon. He eventually manages to imprison Jon for a while, only to make him "Superboy Black", thus being evil. Lois and Clark eventually restore Jon back to normal. Subsequently, Clark, Jon and Kathy beat Manchester Black.

After Lex used Manchesters power to make sure everyone forgot who Superman was (setting us into Dawn of DC) his soul became stuck in Metropolis

It seems she if officially going to be Alfred’s daughter

Because of course she is

I really didn’t want this, but I am hoping this means they will be less likely to make her a love interest for Batman since Alfred filled a father role for Bruce and having him dating on of Alfred’s daughter

Tho Verity def is an interesting name especially since Alfred’s other daughters are named Julia and Daphne so I’m not sure what the vibe change was about

Let’s talk about them

They first appeared in Future State: Teen Titans making them honestly still a pretty new character all in all

Stitch is a golem-like ragdoll made from a blend of dacron and Egyptian cotton

They were an apprentice to Doctor Fate when Nightwing and the other Titans opened the Roy Harper Academy to train young metahumans and vigilantes. Doctor Fate saw an opportunity for Stitch to learn what it means to be a hero. Stitch saw an opportunity to make friends and fit in

It has also been hinted on in some stories that Chupacabra possess feelings for Stitch, the effigy regarding it as a potential subplot

Would have been awesome if we got both superboy and Ultraboy from the beginning, like if superboy jon did remain long in the volcano but both Jons got saved, Ultraboy would still have the trauma due to being there longer than Superboy ways in this hypothetical situation.

I honestly like Ultra Boy a lot, but I do feel like dc won’t keep him, which sucks

Being able to see how his trauma affects his actions and how he lives as a hero. He’s really trying hard to be a hero and for the most part he’s doing a pretty good job. Even Tomorrow Man agrees with this statement that Jon is doing a good job at this, and I do think Tomorrow Man/Older Jon is a pretty good mentor. Ultra Boy has had some slip ups where he’s too ruff, but he’s a kid with a lot of power and strength and from what we’ve seen now it really does not seem to be on purpose

Like you can tell he’s a pretty empathetic kid

And I feel like he’s got similarities from what we saw with younger Damian. I feel like Ultra Boy would really benefit from a friend like Damian

Someone who grew up in a really bad situation and has trauma from that and can be pretty violent especially after they just left that situation

Nubia let's get into her today

Originally, she was one of the royal twin princesses of Themyscira, sculpted from clay by Queen Hippolyta and brought to life by Aphrodite. According to some accounts, Nubia was shaped from clay moments before Diana, making her the rightful heir of the Amazons.

At birth, she was abducted by the god of war leaving Hippolyta inconsolable, believing she had lost her daughter

As she grew, Nubia surpassed all of Ares’ male soldiers and became his supreme warrior. She eventually ruled a floating island inhabited by men, serving as both military leader and strategist. She was the only woman there and led her people with strength and compassion, refusing to kill simply to prove her worth. Even though the men initially resisted taking orders from a woman, Nubia earned their respect over time.

Because she's just that cool. I mean it overall Nubia is a very strong character and a very good leader, that I would like to see more of in comics or even in her own run

Years later, Nubia traveled to Themyscira and challenged Diana. Though she proved herself to be Diana’s equal, she chose to let the duel end in a draw and declared herself the true Wonder Woman

In modern continuity, Nubia was born as a standard Amazon from the Well of Souls and does not have the same level of power as Diana, but she is still one of the most skilled Amazons. In earlier stories, Nubia was portrayed as a woman who was abused and imprisoned by her captor, who sexually assaulted her before she was reincarnated as an Amazon. Nubia has been revealed to be queer and is in a relationship with another Amazon, Io, eventually becoming the new Queen of the Amazons.

The casting was so good and it was such a fun watch

Now. It’s not exactly like the comic. I feel like if they were to do something just like the comic they would have to do a tv show.

I think the changed they made worked so well for a movie and kept a lot of these story beats while also making it its own thing

They did change Kara’s origin story so that she was born on Argos after it spilt from Krypton. So in this world Clark actually is older then Kara by about 8 years

They did still keep a lot of the other traumas that she experiences during the end of Krypton, like watching everyone around her die of Kryptonite poisoning and having to help take care of them
