IF YOUR QUEEN NEEDS ANOTHER OF WHATEVER YOU ARE LKASJDFLKJSDKLJF tristan: *looks directly into the camera*  But no Iâm not sure exactly what his ~cover~ is????  I have a feeling she has him retained as like either yeah like a bodyguard or executioner or something??????  Or if heâs just a guy that hangs around and no oneâs 100% sure what exactly he does?????  Bc I feel like all of that would kind of be up to court customs/Rowena???  IdkâŚAs mod, do you have any thoughts on what his official position might be? hahaha
THIS WENT DIFFERENTLY THAN I EXPECTED i choKED (evie, probably: this is why crushes are alwaYS a bad idea ;D)
dsdklfjkldsjlaf;jkldsjf Will asking the imporTANT questions tbh <33333
Ok but either way, I think weâve established that Will would mostly be interested in getting a potential job from Tristan if heâs officially employed by Rowena in some way?
yessss!!! okay so I think I have said this somewhere else???? but in case I havenât or if I have but you havenât seen it, I do think that Tristanâs cover is as like a guard -- potentially the head of her queensguard???? but def someone who just follows her around more for appearance sake than anything else b/c rowena is probably more capable of dispelling whatever threat there is than tristan b/c ~*~dark magic~*~Â
but yeah!!!! so I can def see will being like âomg do u by chance have a open spot b/c iâd love to join in!!!!âÂ
tristan: no u donât understand u donât want this job!!!!!Â
Where Do I Stand | Evie & Will
It had been a long time last Evie and Will had spoken at the dance prior to Celiaâs departure and Lynessaâs wedding. Â If she were being honest, Evie had been avoiding Will. Â Since becoming (rather unexpectedly betrothed), sheâd felt it best to keep a distance from him. Â While she didnât think Alexandir was likely to begrudge an emotion sheâd developed long before their surprise engagement, Evie also knew that if she was going to build a new life with him, she needed to start it right. Â And it simply didnât feel right to be flirting with Will while engaged to someone else. Â Particularly when his words meant so much to her. Â She still occasionally caught herself daydreaming about the things heâd said to her at their last meeting. Â When asked if heâd missed her, heâd replied without hesitation, Would I miss the sun? Â No, sheâd not thought it wise or generous to see him.
Nonetheless, things were in flux now such that she imagined she might have more leeway than previously. Â She imagined the betrothal between herself and Alexandir was poised to be called off, given that he stood in peril of his life and her mother despised him anyway. Â And, more to the point, it had reached Evieâs ears that Will had, in Celiaâs time of need, volunteered to ride out and bring her back. Â Of course, her captor had brought Celia back of his own volition before Will had been given a chance to act on his offer, but it still struck Evie as remarkably gallant that Will had thought to do this at all. Â Certainly, Evie knew he was eager to make his name, but it was also no secret that Celiaâs abductor had bested the entire assembly of Celiaâs guards, which meant the offer was most certainly a brave one.
Since the murder of Jon Valles, the Imperial Palace had been a dour place. Â With overwhelming extra security, it had been sapped of all joy (an atmosphere no one might ever have thought the absence of Jon Valles might create) in one fell swoop. Â Walking across the courtyard back to Ravenwood, Evie glanced up to spot Will. Â Despite everything, she found herself grinning.
âGood morning,â she greeted, approaching him. Â âI wanted to thank you,â she began, earnestly. Â âI heard how you bravely volunteered to fetch back my sister in her hour of need. Â There were few enough others who made any such offer and I know that it must have taken a great deal of courage,â just to face my mother, she thought, dryly. Â She shook her head as thought to dispel these thoughts. Â âIt comes as a great comfort to know that we have such a friend as you, particularly in the midst of such trying times as these.â
Pausing, she added.  âItâs been some time since we spoke.  How proceed your travel plans or has theâŚactivity here brought them to a halt?â
âThere is no need to thank me,â He said, softly, waving a hand as though it was nothing. While he brushed off her comment as though he truly had thought nothing of it, he had to hold back a proud smile at the phrase bravely volunteered. At the time, he had thought nothing of it, but, looking back, he had certainly been very brave, indeed, to attempt it -- if the stories of the pirate disarming her entire caravan on his own were true.Â
Willâs own skills with a sword were impressive, indeed, but he would have overestimated himself if he thought he would have been a match for James Garin.Â
âI only did what any man in my position would do. I hope you know that you, your mother, and your sisters may always rely on me for aide. I am forever in your service, my lady.âÂ
He had tried to find some adventure to pursue -- in fact, he had dearly hoped that he would have had a chance to go after Celia Beaumont. To rescue a lovely maiden from a rogue pirate, was just the sort of quest he meant to go out on. But she had been safely returned (by the pirate himself, no less!) before he had been able to make a move. âI have no current plans to leave.â He confessed, âBut there is, as you have pointed out, much activity here in the capital. Perhaps it would be best if I remain here, at home, for a time.â He wouldnât be surprised if someone here should need his assistance soon.Â
OOC | Ed & Will
Ok, but I need this relationship to be a thing <3333
OMG ME TOO!!!!!!
Idk this might be too unoriginal but my first reaction is that will would def just boss ed around but heâd also have an affection for him that he would def say doesnât exist (but it totally does!) and I feel like heâs always like hey @ed can u deliver these flowers to evie for me???? also IDK if will knows or is friends at all w/ rose but heâd fOR SURE hit him up for any info on her haha even if they just once talked in passingÂ
will: omg what did she say?Â
ed: not much we just talked about the weatherÂ
will: yeah but did she mention me?Â
ed: *looks into the camera like heâs in the office*Â
ooc | Will & Cordelia
cordeliaarrington:
I 100% agree!!! Â I feel like thereâs probs constant flirtation going on when they see each other but I doubt they think of each other much when they arenât together or anything and yeah hahaha Cordelia def doesnât mean anything by it at all????? Â Honestly Will and Cordeliaâs style of flirting is what Cordelia generally thinks is happening when sheâs flirting????? #facepalm
All that being said, esp bc theyâre on the same page, I can potentially see them being friends. Â I mean, idk that theyâd be super close or anything, but I feel like they def have a similar worldview and set of interests etc that would help them get along, even when they arenât flirting hahaha
omg for sure lol!!!!!Â
I def think heâd seek her out at ~functions~ when he knows that she will be there but heâs never super disappointed if she isnât there (will: thereâs other fish in the sea!) but he certainly always has a great time when she is and omg I can def see them being friends, as well! And actually, I could have seen them being closer in like an AU where they would have more opportunity to hang out than they do now (I also think they would probably fight a lot too tho if they did know each other better hahahah but theyâd always make up). but yeah, as it is, I think that they are casual buds who have a good time whenever they do hang together
but! oh! do you think willâs weird relationship with evie would have any effect on their friendship???? or do you think evie is generally pretty quiet about her confusing relationship with will and it isnât something cordelia really ever picked up on???? i mean, also will x evieâs relationship has def changed a little, too, given her engagement (which is now broken but yâknow). i do think will pulled it back a little after she and alex got engaged but not a whole lot b/c he always thought it was pretty harmless and now that sheâs def taken he doesnât really think that they is any harm at all in it since she canât think that heâs leading her on, since she already has a man?Â

Ok but either way, I think weâve established that Will would mostly be interested in getting a potential job from Tristan if heâs officially employed by Rowena in some way?
okay, so Iâm thinking that he might be a bodyguard??????? especially since cassius canât be with her 24/7 since he also patrols aragoth, I can see him being her ~guard~ (not that she needs him b/c sheâs an actual powerful evil witch but aragoth doesnât know that haha). so i FEEl like he basically gets paid to basically stand outside her door hahah and yâknow then the occasional murder of her family members ;DDDDD
so yeah, if tristan is basically like a member of the ~queenâs guard, than will would be v interested in a job working directly for her. heâd especially like to work as someone who she sends out on ~missions~ b/c aDVENTURES!!!!!!! so yeah I can def see him chatting up with tristan like âhey r u guys hiring??â basically .... but yeah, heâs also probably looking at tristan like: why r u so boring???????????????????? why does no one who works for the queen ever have fun???????????? gonna list fun as 1 of my special skillz on my resume!!!!Â
will: *petition to to liven up the imperial palace 2k17*

Rubbing Elbows | Will & Cassius
cassiusmontagu:
Cassius Montagu was not a man who had much in common with those around him, but today they were all united in the singular joy of Jon Vallesâ demise. Â Technically gathered in celebration of Jonâs unillustrious life, the gathering had turned moreso into a gala commemorating his demise. Â Joy, frivolity, dancing, and drinking permeated every corner of the Great Hall, devoid only of those amongst his acquaintance who had been accused of his murder.
Cassius, too, rejoiced in the loss of Jon Valles, but it did not prevent the little voice in his head from whispering that such a celebration would greet his own passing. Â Cassius took a long draught from his cup and gazed forward. Â As he did, he spotted a cluster of Jonâs un-bereaved relatives, the Fontaines.
Arthur Arrington, apparently having sensed their presence, already hovered in their orbit, as did other interested suitors, but Cassius found himself arrested, arrested by Guinevereâs laughing eyes.  They danced merrily as she spoke with her friends, animated in a way she scarcely ever was with him.  Her cheeks glowed with smiles and she tilted her head with joyous laughter.  He longed to hear the sound, to tuck it away for moments of reflection.  Her movements were active, free, in a way she hadnât been since Valles first arrived and she grinned with genuine light.  As awful as these past months had been, Vallesâ hovering, her fatherâs deathâŚnow she must feel, tonight at least, free of it.  His heart ached for her and yearned to be with her, but he was a shadow and he didnât dare tarnish her light.
Hearing someone approach him, Cassius started from his reverie, casting a dirty glance towards whomever had dared interrupt his more pleasant thoughts. Â He sighed and returned his glance, though more unseeingly, towards Guinevere when he saw who it was. Â Both Willâs delight in his presence and his name pained Cassius, reminding him of the man he ought to have been. Â A man he had never been (if he had truly been - as at one time heâd thought he was - he would never have done the things he did); never would be.
âI do not require advice from you,â he responded curtly.  âAnd I donât dance.â  His glance slid back towards Guinevere, however, as he pictured her smiling that way at him (something he knew would never happened).  Unbidden the image of her in his arms, the touch of her hand in his or on his shoulder, her skirts brushing his boots, her so very close to himâŚThe idea of such a dance was not at all unappealing, Cassius realized with annoyance.  He disguised his frown with a well-timed sip from his cup.
The truth was, Willâs advice wasnât bad, and that only made Cassius all the more irritated, as he didnât particularly want this conversation to begin with. Â Cassius didnât altogether dislike Will, not really. Â He did, however, dislike the considerations Will brought to the front of his mind: his best friend and all heâd ever counted as family dead at his own hand, the order heâd once cherished and protected brought to smoldering ruin, and most cruelly of all, the thought of what had once been and what might have been. Â And most of all he despised how Will seemed to hold Cassius up as an idol, wanted to be like him, thought him good and decent and worthy of emulation. Â The notion was more than Cassius could stomach. Â Somehow, the festering lie was almost worse than the horrific truth it disguised.
Exhaling, he cast a sidelong glance towards Will.  He didnât dislike Will, himself.  He disliked what he represented.  But that wasnât Willâs fault.  Since the boy had made an effort, Cassius thought, perhaps he should do so too.  âI suppose that is what you would do,â he commented, in an effort to make conversation (and partially because heâd realized Willâs idea wasnât half bad).  âSelect a lady upon whom to lavish your attentions for a night and thenâŚwhat?â  Will clearly was unengaged, meaning his attentions were of a more fleeting nature.  But many of the ladies he courted were noble, including at least one Beaumont girl.  Which meant either these were chaste flirtationsâŚor Will Caldwell was, in fact, literally flirting with danger.  Cassius shouldnât worry about such a thing - after all he told himself he didnât care - but the lad had once been his squire, his responsibility.  Cassius half felt he ought to caution him, half felt he ought to walk away and never consider the matter ever again.
He shook his head. Â âIn any case, Lady Guinevere appears much engaged, at present,â he said, nodding towards where she was chatting amiably with her friends. Â âIâve no desire to interrupt.â
I do no require advice from you ...Â
A wiser man would have left after such a comment from the last dragon rider, but Will was often a fool (and he was especially when he was sipping on the Queenâs strongest ales). He did not hear the tone nor saw the look, but instead only focused on what Cassius had said. And he wanted to laugh outright. It was, perhaps, a good thing that he did not.Â
Did not require his advice? Will thought, Does he not realize that when it came to wooing women, Cassius was even more hopeless than Lysander?
He wasnât especially approachable, standing silently in the dark with a scowl. Will had seen brave women try to approach him, before. They'd hoped to decorate the arm of Aragothâs most powerful man, but heâd never encouraged any of them and now his reputation had deferred even the most persistent ladies until he was generally left completely alone.Â
Didnât he realize that all he had to do, was be a little more friendly and approachable and heâd have women throwing themselves at his feet?Â
If Will did not love the thrill of the case, he would have been envious.Â
But Will was also convinced that all Cassius needed was a little push. So he ignored his first comment altogether. He didnât give up as easily as others (in fact, Will rarely turned back once heâd set his mind on something, even when everyone else told him it was folly. It would likely be his undoing someday). âEveryone dances.â He said, âYou just need to wait for the right one. For you: something soft; something slow.âÂ
Will chuckled when Cassius asked him what he would do ... and what came next. âAnd then ... nothing.â He said, although there was a mischievous look in his eye. âEveryone knows my flirtations are fleeting.â Although that was his main trouble: not everyone did know. âWell, in all cases but one. But she is not here tonight.â He thought immediately of Rose as he spoke. She was the one woman who had refused him ... again and again and again and again. She was stubborn, but he was determined. One day, sheâd say yes.Â
And one day, heâd once told Lysander, he would marry her.Â
Will sighed when he said that he did not wish to interrupt Guinevere, âIf you spend all of your life waiting for the perfect moment, youâll wait forever.âÂ
ooc | Will & Cordelia
I feel like Will and Cordelia would flirt with each other all the time? But it would also be super harmless probs on both sides, so all in all, just goes on better than Will x Evie lol (altho arthur still gives will the stink eye but will doesnât notice)
SIR WILLIAM CALDWELL / bradley james
⌠Age: (24) ⌠Relationships: Genevieve âEvieâ Beaumont (flirtation), Lysander Stafford (best friend), Roseline lâArcher (interest/annoyance) ⌠Description: Young, charming, and dangerously flirtatious, William has many young ladies of the court desperately in love with him. William is an impressive swordsman and jouster, with few losses to his name. Pompous and proud, William can be an ass, but deep down, his heart is in the right place. He tends to be a bit too self centered, however, to notice the feelings and struggles of others without someone pointing them out to him. William is intrigued by the village blacksmith, Roseline lâArcher, who can hold her own with any man. While her insults sting, William canât help but be charmed by her fiery nature.  TAKEN BY LIZZY.

OOC | Normand & Will
âHeyyyyy, youâre pretty good with a swordâŚIf only I had a nefarious purpose for which I could use a skilled warriorâŚâ Jk, jk, I donât think Normand would look to a knight as an assassin, but he might (want to) hang with him bc ummmm Will is Normandâs idea of fun and also Will might know some assassin types via whatever it is fighters do Normand doesnât really know ;DDDD
omgggg an au where normand asks will to be his assassin tho ;DDDÂ
ANYWAY um these two hanging out bro style tho I CHOKED like honestly Will wouldnât care if Normand was hella boring (altho heâd complain to Lysander about him behind his back #bestfriendaward), heâd def chill with him. Will def likes to name drop and network so he can be like âSEND ME ON YOUR QUEST!â (Normand: there is a young boy who is impersonating my nephew! you must kill him! Will: ... sounds legit ;dD jk jk)
Also he probs does know some assassins (s/o to you tristan) altho he probably doesnât even know that they are assassins tbh #helpfulwillishelpful??Â
But at least these two can def drink together??????Â
Daniel In the Den | Avelina & Will
As Will spoke of proving himself, Avelinaâs brows arched ever so slightly, heart clenching. For half a heartbeat, she assumed he meant to prove himself worthy of Evieâs hand. Afterall, each of the Beaumonts - until late (having now each been promised to some gallant - or hideous dwarf, Avelina recalled with a twist of rage - or another). She stirred her tea, quelling anger and bolstering patience as he spoke of his qualifications. Â
Heaving a sigh, she replaced her tea upon the table when he had finished speaking. She supposed it couldnât hurt to farret out a little information, so she smiled sweetly. âAnd what, good sir, qualifies you - as inexperienced as you are - to take on a swordsman who, alone, outstripped all the seasoned guards I had sent with Lady Celia? Answer me that and, perhaps I shall select you for this deed.â She shifted slightly in her chair, sitting back more comfortably in it. âLady Genevieve seems quite impressed with your courage. Impress me, Sir William.â
In all truth, if he displayed the kind of competence Evie seemed to feel he had, she wouldnât hesitate to dispatch him, even though that had not been her original intent. How could it possibly hurt? Celia needed all the help she could get, at this juncture.
Avelina Beaumont, however, did not expect to be impressed.
âJust now, weâre having tea so I do not expect you to show me yourâŚathletic abilities just now. I want you to speak to me.â She tilted her head in her characteristic way and smiled a condescending kind of smile. âWhat words of comfort would you offer Lady Celia, were you to rescue her, say? How would you go about discovering her whereabouts when no one else seems so capable?â Save Dmitrei, of course, but that didnât bare mentioning to so addle headed a boy.
âBecause I have proven myself in the yard, for one. I am untested in the field of battle, but every knight must have his first. Send me on this errand!â He pleased, âIf I am not the only man you send after your daughter, which surely I wll not be, what have you to lose if I fail?âÂ
Will had half a mind to go off on his own: he had enough confidence in himself that he should return successful and whether or not he had this ladyâs blessing before leaving, would matter little in the end. He could already picture the tale Lysander would weave: a young maiden kidnapped by some ruffian who was so skilled with a blade that he could take on ten, twenty men on his own and come out unscathed. Many men tried to free the poor girl, but none could win out until Sir William Caldwell tried his hand.Â
âI am not afraid of death, my lady. Only of failure -- which is why that shall not be an option.âÂ
He leaned back in his chair, âThis man, whoever he is, is smart. He will not take the most direct route for fear of being over overpowered. He may have been able to defeat the guards you sent with your daughter, but in the end he is only human and he would not want to risk coming upon more men than even he could handle. I will take the roads less traveled. I may not come upon them, at all, but one more man to your daughterâs cause can only aide it.âÂ
He paused, "As for the words of comfort I shall provide your daughter with, I promise you, I will have no trouble with that.â He had charmed half the girls in the Imperial City and he was certain that he would be able to make her feel at ease. âI will assure her that she is safe and swear by my honor and my life that I will return her to you, unhamred.âÂ

OOC | Tristan & Will
Ok, so Tristan works/ed for Rowena. Iâm not sure exactly what his cover story is, since I doubt Rowenaâs like, âAnd this is the dude I got to assassinate my family!â hahahaha Even tho Iâm sure the older generation probs know anyway, even if they donât openly speak of it. Either way, Will isnât a part of that generation, tho, so THAT doesnât really matter between them hahahah
Ummmm, regarding Will, idk if theyâd ever work together since I assume Tristan is still at least technically under Rowenaâs employ if for no other reason than the fact that she probs doesnât want him going off from under her thumb and blabbing to someone else hahaha (but she doesnât seem to think he will, given that heâs still alive so thereâs that)
Anyway, yeah, so Iâm not really 100% sure for these two?????
hmmm Iâm not really sure tbh??? I mean, I guess it would depend kind on what Will thought Tristan is, exactly??? b/c we know he likes to ~rub elbows with ppl that are high up (exhibit a: him trying to befriend cassius #facepalm). Like if he thought he was a bodyguard or something?? idk but if that is the case, I can see him being like âhey if your queen needs another one of ... whatever you are, sign me up!!!âÂ
(will becomes an assassin and is hired to kill evie: ... this went differently than expected ...)Â
Either way, Will is just gonna be, âWhatâs with the queen surrounding herself with v/ sad men???â ;DDÂ
