âŚ.Huh?
HUH????
HUH?!?!?????????
I AM WEEPING
Somewhere out there, Leroy Jenkins is weeping with joy.
This.
This is the cyberpunk hellscape reality we have landed in.
I knew about this yesterday
what the hell is going on over at kfc in 2020.
When my youngest spawn texted me the link I swear I thought it was just a joke.
Safewords
Let me start off by saying this is my personal opinion. I know not everyone will agree with what Iâm about to say and thatâs okay. I am married to my Dom/Daddy and have been with him 14 years. I trust him completely with all that I am. We know each other inside and out and that makes a huge difference so again this is my personal opinion.
During sessions/scenes
I do have a safe word but have honestly never felt the need to use it because he reads my body, the sounds I make and reactions so well. He knows when things are getting pretty intense or when he needs to back off a little and give me time to catch my breath. He knows exactly when I get lost in my space and he knows exactly how to pull me right back to him. The key here is he knows me. None of this happened overnight it took a lot of work on both of our parts to get to where we are now. Some of this came naturally because we had been together so long before we decided D/s and BDSM was something we both wanted.
I know that if I needed to safe word I could and it wouldnât disappoint him or cause any issueâs in our relationship. For me however I feel that if I am going to use my safe word it should be an emergency where things need to stop right then and there. It isnât used to revoke consent because if I were going to do that I would have done it before the scene/session ever started. Before we start a scene I usually know what is going to happen or at least what he has in mind and he checkâs my comfort level with what he has planned. He does this so that way if I have any questions or concernâs I can voice those before it ever getâs to the point of needing my safe word. Do I know every single detail of course not but I know enough to make a decision as to whether I want to continue or not.Â
He knows my limits and I know his. We are constantly revisiting these to see if anything has changed for either of us. If there are changes we make note of those so that no line is crossed or to draw a new line. Again this is to make sure that neither of us feels the need to safe word.Â
During Punishment
We have discussed the rules and I have had my chance to voice concerns, to ask any questionâs I may have or voice my opinion on them. If I am breaking a rule that we mutually agreed upon Iâm not going to safe word just to get out of punishment especially when I knew I was breaking a rule and did it anyway.
The reason behind this post:
Lately I have seen a few post about submissiveâs constantly safe wording, doing it just to get out of punishment or just because they can. Iâm all for safe wording if you need to, arenât comfortable with or donât want something. With that being said if you find yourself using your safe word a lot maybe itâs time to have a conversation with your partner and re-evaluate your limits/boundaries. It may even be time to take a long hard honest look at yourself to see if this is really the type of relationship you want. If you have issueâs with the rules then tell your partner and discuss what can be changed. If the problem is with a scene again discuss it with your partner. Communicate openly and honestly with your partner about what it is you want/hope to get out of the relationship. Constantly feeling like you have to use your safe word isnât healthy for either of you or your relationship.
If using your safe word is your only way to revoke consent then in my opinion itâs time to take an honest look at your relationship.Â
If itâs a new relationship get to know the other person before you jump into a scene or anything else with them. Discuss your limits and let them know what you want or donât want. Be completely honest with them and most of all yourself. Build some trust and communicate. Donât say well I know them because i have been talking to them online for 3 months or whatever, guess what you can be anyone you want to be online but who are you in person.
Practice Safe,Sane and Consensual not just the part you like.
*This is another I was unsure of posting but I am going to because @adamadom wants me to.*
This is a great post @sirskia I agree on what you said because after all each relationship is unique and we have to respect that not all of us work at the same pace.. What works for you will be always be the best for you ⌠So yes we need the safe word .. that something we need to have in our minds with us and use it wisely like you say not just because you want to get out of a punishment.. Our partners trust us to use it and they trust us to use it when we really need it.. If you never had the need to use it then is perfectly fine.. After all like you said safe words are to be use when necessary.. When we feel something is not right within us .. We have to give that trust to our partners that we will say it when we need it .. We have to build that trust .. Thank again for sharing this so glad you did itâŚ
Thank you for this reasonable discussion and these more than valuable words.Â
Thank you both @mskittendita and @iamyourdom for the kind words. I agree they are necessary not only for the sub but also for the Dom. You are also completely correct that every relationship is unique and what works or is good for one may not be for another.Thatâs why I have told people not to compare their relationship to another instead figure out through open and honest communication what works for you.
So much agreed! @sirskia and @mskittendita! I mean, there was this huge âriotâ about safe words and the âwrongâ and ârightâ way of using it. What so many forget, is that a safe word is âonlyâ a tool. A very important tool. Discussing the way to use it - in the different dynamics - does not mean in any way that you shouldnât use it at all. Or that you should be cautious to use it. Use the safe word freely. And every time you need to. Period.
Itâs sad that some people obviously had such terrible experiences that they completely shut off and raise all their defense mechanisms, even become aggressive, if someone even only wants to discuss details of the use or shine a little more light on the various ways, safe words are included in the different dynamics. And there are various ways. Even though in all dynamics safe wording means âstopâ. Denying that there are slight little details, shows immaturity and ignorance.
Again: Itâs simple. Safewording means âstopâ. In all dynamics. No questions. No negotiations. No punishments for using safe words. All subs have to be comfortable using the safe words.Â
But - and I make a bold statement here: If a sub uses the safe word, something is wrong. Not necessarily with the relationship, but *something*. With the scene. The circumstances. Whatever. And then you have to find out. Stop what youâre doing at this very moment and find out whatâs wrong. Thatâs it. And it *can* be, that Dom (Daddy, SirâŚ) and sub have a very different view on their dynamics. And frequent safewording is an indicator for that. Same applies, if the sub uses the safe word in a way the Dom finds too lightheartedly. That *can* happen. But then they have to discuss. Thatâs all.
And while Iâm at it: I would never - never ever - go into a relationship without a special âemergencyâ safe word. Yes, for me a âno, not nowâ, or âplease, not nowâ, or âcan we stop, pleaseâ is enough. No questions, no negotiations. And I know that my sub only says that, if she is really uncomfortable. If you only have the feel that she does things to âeasily get out of somethingâ, then something is wrong with the communication, trust and/or commitment in your relationship and not with her using the safe word. BUT, if you are in a dynamic that includes impact play (like mine does), I as the person who âdirectsâ a scene DEMAND (and that is the only thing I really DEMAND) a special safe word (also: âsafe signâ, âsafe signalâ⌠whatever). A safe word that is *only* used in real emergencies. So that *I* have no doubts. So that *I* can be safe as well. That there are no misunderstandings. Outside of a scene my sub can use any words to express her not being okay with something. But in the scene, only the safe word counts. This is my rule. (and yes, she can use the safe word also outside of a scene, but itâs usually not necessary).
Great points about safewords - especially about them being a tool! I equate safewords (and negotiation, for that matter) to last-minute cramming for a test, with actually learning and knowing the person being studying.
As @sirskia pointed out, if youâve studied well enough then last-minute cramming doesnât really become necessary. But that presumes a lot of prior study.
I do think that the importance of safewords can vary by the type of play youâre engaged in. For instance, I do a lot of resistance play and psychoemotional sadism. So having a safeword is very important, since âno!â doesnât mean no, and him being in clear distress doesnât tell me I need to stop.
But Iâm also in a TPE dynamic, and so the way safewords work for us is different. @iamyourdom said that âSafewording means âstopâ. In all dynamics. No questions.â And while thatâs true in the vast majority of dynamics, itâs actually not true in all. By definition TPE (total power exchange) and CNC (consensual non-consent) only have safewords if the Dom chooses to allow them - the premises of those dynamics include that consent is given on entering the dynamic and cannot then be withdrawn, rendering safewords moot. Yes, this is extreme and really really not for everybody. Itâs not for most people. But it does exist.
For me, I do allow my sub safewords. Given the type of play we do, it would be foolish not to use that communication tool. But they are solely a communication tool for us - and not one that means I must stop. If he says âyellow,â it means things are getting uncomfortable in a bad way, if he says âred,â it means Iâm hitting his limits, and if he says âharm,â it means he thinks that continuing would cause him lasting harm. I require him to safeword, since I need that information.Â
But note that nowhere in there did I say I had to stop. Itâs solely him giving me that information, then waiting to see what decision I make with it. Iâm not irresponsible enough to want to break my things (thatâs not how I operate), which is part of why he entered into this dynamic with me in the first place. Because according to our relationship agreement, I could - and safewords donât affect that. (Heâs never actually said âharmâ - or even âred,â actually, so this is more a philosophical distinction than a practical one.)
All of this is to say, I completely agree that safewords are a useful communication tool, but theyâre not the only one. Sometimes theyâre not even the best one. And while their nuances do vary across dynamics, sometimes their presence or meaning does as well.
You have made some great points. I did consider TPE, CNC and RACK when I wrote the original post but since we donât actually practice any of those at the moment I didnât really get into detail. Thank you for adding more great information to this post.
It's so incredibly sexist that you are required to stay home and do chores/drop and pick up the kids while your "sir" is at work, like wtf it isn't the 1800's and women don't need to be forced into being housewives. You're allowed to work and leave the house and not do all the chores he wants you to, a man is just as capable of doing chores.
Part 2
Itâs so fucking disgusting that he doesnât respect you and calls you his âslutâ (extremely sexist and slut shaming) and that he forces you to get on your knees and suck his dick, you should be treated as his equal not like youâre his sexual object. Way too many men see women as sexual objects that need to pleasure them
For anyone wanting to follow along Iâm going to link the postâs I believe my Anon friend here is basing his/her assumptions off of:

First off this reply isnât to defend the choice I made to submit to him. Let me repeat that the choice I made. We are both consenting adultâs and arenât hurting ourselves or anyone else. We arenât parading about in public forcing our lifestyle on anyone else, so with that said what we do behind closed doors and in our home shouldnât really matter to anyone else. I do however want to point out that everyone is entitled to their own opinionâs but maybe before they assume something they should base it off more information than what these have been based on, just my opinion. Okay now to your message.
Itâs so incredibly sexist that you are required to stay home and do chores/drop and pick up the kids while your âsirâ is at work, like wtf it isnât the 1800âs and women donât need to be forced into being housewives. Youâre allowed to work and leave the house and not do all the chores he wants you to, a man is just as capable of doing chores.
Iâm not required to stay home,do chores or take care of my kids. I choose to do all of these things because I actually enjoy them and they make me happy. I love being able to be here for my kids and husband. Iâm fortunate enough that my husband has a job that pays well enough that I can do these things. Iâm not being âforcedâ to do anything that I donât want to do but thank you for the concern. The life that I live on a daily basis is one that I chose and itâs one that I am both extremely happy and blessed to be able to have.Â
Heâs never once told me I had to stay home or that I wasnât allowed to leave the house and work. The decision for me to be at home was one that we made together many years ago because of other circumstances that had absolutely nothing to do with our lifestyle now. As far as him being capable of doing chores of course he is and believe me he does. Heâs washed dishes, cooked, done laundry and even taken care of a screaming child while doing these things. Heâs just as involved with our kids and making sure our house stayâs in order as i am.Â
Youâre completely correct this isnât the 1800â˛s and thank goodness it isnât because now I have a choice and this is the life I chose to live. I was the one who submitted to him and Iâm just lucky enough that he didnât think I was insane and he chose to give this lifestyle a chance.Â
On to part 2
Itâs so fucking disgusting that he doesnât respect you and calls you his âslutâ (extremely sexist and slut shaming) and that he forces you to get on your knees and suck his dick, you should be treated as his equal not like youâre his sexual object. Way too many men see women as sexual objects that need to pleasure them
The post you are referring to here was written just to make me smile. That 1 single line you are referring to was his way of being silly at that moment because he knew it would make me smile and guess what, it did. That is the one and only time he has referred to me as a slut because it doesnât feel right to him. Iâm far from a slut his or otherwise but if that were the case and he did feel that way then yes in the bedroom I am his slut. Within those four walls I am whatever he wants me to be because thatâs what I want to be.Â
As far as him not respecting me well that I have to disagree with. The man you are trying so hard to put in a negative light has so much respect, admiration and love for me that I have seen it bring him to tears. Again he doesnât âforceâ me to do anything I donât want to do. I get on my knees and suck his cock because I want to not because he tellâs me to. I may have submitted to him but I still have a choice and I can still say no.Â
Sorry but I have to laugh at the entire sex object thing at least in this case. He doesnât see me as an object. Iâm his wife first and his sub second in all honesty. Iâm not here strictly for his pleasure but I am his and if he wants me to please him, well then I am more than happy to do so. Not because itâs what he wants or because heâs âforcingâ me to do anything but because itâs what I want and it pleasureâs me to no end to hear him say âOh fuckâ while heâs enjoying my body and taking what he needs/wants. Our entire relationship is give and take itâs not just one sided and itâs not all about him and what he wants. It is however about two people completely in love with each other with a connection that grows stronger every single day.Â
If anything in our relationship he putâs me, my wants/needs and well being before his so I guess sometimes in his eyes no Iâm not his equal I come before him. In my eyes however we are completely equal even if I am sitting at his feet. I do tend to put his and our families needs first and thatâs not changing anytime soon. With all matters to do with our relationship he values my opinions, concerns and input, he does however have final say. He makes the decisions based on all facts and input for the good of our family. He is the head of the household and he does what he has to in order to protect his family and give us what we need.
So you see when you assume things and you donât have all the facts well it makes you look like a very rude person. I do however want to thank you for the message because in all honesty it made me smile. You have such strong feelings about my relationship yet you hide behind Anon. Someone I donât know and who has no idea how my relationship works isnât going to upset me or ruin my day. In some ways I feel a little sorry for you because you clearly have no idea how freeing or rewarding it is to submit to someone, give away complete control and know that they are going to protect and love you unconditionally. What you see here is only a small window into our relationship and thatâs all it will be is a window, what we choose to share with the world. The rest we keep for ourselves to treasure.
What people in our life and our kids see are two people who are completely devoted to each other. Two people who have been through hell together didnât give up and came out on the other side stronger and more in love. Parents who donât scream, yell, curse or argue instead they calmly talk to one another and work out their differences. So you see I really donât see any negativeâs here all I see is a lifestyle that has brought us closer together and made us happier than we have ever been. I would even be willing to bet that our relationship is probably healthier than a lot of vanilla relationships out there.
Thank you again for your concern with my choices but know that I am happy with every choice that I have made. However if you still feel the need to be concerned with my life and my choices then Iâm only a message away. I hope you have a wonderful day and that you donât let life stress you out too much.

We've all heard it many times: Wear a face covering - indoors, outdoors, on trains and buses. At work, in the supermarket and at church. But
"The modeling indicated that when lockdown periods are combined with 100% face mask use, disease spread is vastly diminished, preventing resurgence for 18 months, the time frame that has frequently been cited for developing a vaccine. It also demonstrated that if people wear masks in public, it is twice as effective at reducing the R number than if face coverings are only worn after symptoms appear.
"The masks donât have to be top-of-the-line surgical or respirator masks. Homemade coverings that catch only 50 percent of exhaled droplets would provide a 'population-level benefit,' they concluded."
Reality sucks sometimes but at least Iâm still here
A sad reality is even if you follow all precautions you can still end up sick. Sir is considered essential so he has to go to work but they do require masks to be worn and he's constantly washing his hands or using hand sanitizer. Myself and the kids have basically been home since mid Feb (we all ended up sick and I very sick) only leaving the house for dr visits and such. Sir has done all shopping mostly pickup orders as to not take any risk he doesnât have to. Well this past week Sir ended up sick and got tested mainly because Iâm still dealing with the affects of being sick in Feb plus he had to have a negative in order to go back to work. We stressed mainly me for 7 days before getting the results which were thankfully negative but I still ended up getting sick as well with bronchitis so now I get another round of steroids and antibiotics. So even though I havenât left the house and even though Sir tested negative if I donât recover soon I may still have to be tested. I also have an appointment to get an antibody test that had to be put on hold due to last week. When I was sick in Feb/March I had many of the symptoms of Covid so my dr has sent orders for me to be tested.
Moral of this story just wear the dang mask, social distance when possible and wash your hands. Even if you feel fine you could still be sick and spread it to someone else but by simply wearing a mask you could very well be protecting someone else. The mask is about you not being selfish and trying to protect your fellow human beings from a virus you may not even know you have. If everyone is taking the same precautions then getting sick is less likely.Â
Iâm also pretty sick of people throwing around numbers while seeming to forget every one of those numbers is a person. Also the argument that itâs just like the flu doesnât fly especially if thatâs what I had in Feb/March. Iâve had the flu and this was nothing like it and I definitely wasn't left with as many issueâs as I have now from the flu. I was relatively healthy before I got sick and now in the last 4 months or so Iâve had pneumonia (within 2 days of getting sick) which Iâve never had in my life, blood clots in my leg/lung out of no where (blood thinners are no fun in many ways), swelling in my ankles, leg pain, tiredness, more anxiety issues, lymph node swelling, more rounds of antibiotics/steroids than I want to think about and now bronchitis with more antibiotics and steroids. I could keep going but I wonât, just please if you wonât take precautions for yourself do it for someone else, you could end up saving a life.
I will add spending the night in the hospital alone after finding out you have dvt and multiple PEâs is terrifying. I honestly have no idea what I would have done without Sirâs love and support.
Sometimes I go into a kind of subspace without my Dom âputting me there.â Usually from looking at Tumblr alone or something. Also seems to fluctuate with hormones. But when I tell my Dom Iâm feeling subbie, he gets upset. He feels like Iâm controlling the situation and forcing him into Dom headspace without his consent. Obviously that makes me feel just horrendous and it makes me crash HARD. Iâm not asking him to jump into a kink scene or anything. I just want to feel extra cared for. (p1)
I just want to feel the structure around me. And Iâm also horny. Is this me topping from the bottom? I genuinely donât know. And when this happens should I just not tell him instead because that puts too much pressure on him? Iâve snuck away and masturbated and gently gotten myself up from subspace before, but I just felt guilty after. Iâm allowed to masturbate without asking though. If I get horny and I tell him that, itâs almost enough to turn him off because he hates to feel controlled. I just donât know if I am genuinely in the wrong here. And if I am, what do I do? It feels like heâs overwhelmed by my submission. Â
To be honest, Iâm a bit confused about the situation here. You mention going into subspace by looking at tumblr but I wonder if you may mean feeling more drawn in to your submissive nature, rather than actual subspace? Subspace is something that generally occurs after a scene, often characterized by trance-like euphoria, an impairment of rational thought, possibly a feeling of being drunk or in a warm fog where you and your partner are the only beings that exist (or any other number of iterations, but you get the drift). Itâs a high after a scene, followed by drop, when your bodyâs chemicals that have just been taken on a wild ride start returning to normal.
So, assuming you do mean feeling more âsubbieâ after seeing pictures or reading stories, your dominantâs behavior is a bit suspect. Being dominant or submissive is not what we do, itâs who we are. And while dominants are human and have bad days just like the rest of us, the desire to provide and maintain structure and control is a need, a drive in their souls. Itâs what they do and is not something that can be turned off. On the flip side, being submissive is our nature. Yes, we may feel more needy at times but this is what feeds our souls.
I would first ask if youâre sure your partner is really a dominant. Could he maybe be a Top where he craves the structure and control only in the bedroom? Thereâs nothing wrong with that but if you crave more and he canât provide it, thatâs a fundamental issue for the relationship. From what youâve written, it doesnât appear to me that you are topping from the bottom, as long as you are expressing your needs fully and respectfully. If he is not accepting them, again, I would question if he is a dominantThere is something called D/s hierarchy: Subâs needsDomâs needsDomâs wantsSubâs wantsA submissive *needs* structure. Your partner is not providing it and this is not dominant behavior. You feel that he is overwhelmed by your submission because he most likely is, as any non-dominant would be. And, for the record, a submissive should never hide anything from their dominant - a higher level of trust and honesty is a hallmark of D/s. Itâs time for a meta-talk and lots of honesty on both your parts. Search your souls and determine exactly what each of your needs are in the relationship and then see if they actually mesh.Write them down as it will help clarify your thinking. Relationships take work. You two need to develop the structure of your relationship and both sides need to stick to it. It doesnât have to be all-consuming at first, but start with something and build on it. Develop a method of letting him know when you need more that he is comfortable with. If heâs not willing to take these steps, you may have your answer. -asubmissiveview
Our Reality of Power Exchange
There is a magic place in fantasy land (Fet and Tumblr) where the D types are good and devoted and omnipotent and the s types are happy as clams serving at their Masterâs feet. Whatâs not to love about that fantasy? As long as we are talking about fantasy, how about the impossibly rich and unrealistically beautiful we see depicted in photographs?
I realize this is a common theme in my writing, but none of that resembles the dynamic that Crusoe and I share. Â (caveat â Iâm writing from strictly a personal perspective.)
We both work, and lately Iâve been working a ridiculous amount of overtime. Â Iâm salaried, but the project Iâm working is over budget and over schedule, so Iâm putting in the hours.
Guess what? Â When Iâm out of the house 16 hours a day, Crusoe steps up. Â Yes - Sir Domly Dom takes care of me. Â He takes care of our home and our kids. Â Master of my universe does all the things. Â He makes his own coffee, he carts the minions places, he shops for groceries, makes dinner, and does laundry.
Does this make Crusoe less of my Sir? Â Not in the least. Â Does it make me less of his submissive? Â Some might think so â but not in our world. Â I struggle when I canât do âall the thingsâ but Crusoe doesnât. Â Crusoe recognizes there are times when his submissive just doesnât have the bandwidth to do all the things.
Sometimes, Iâm too fucking tired. Â Sometimes Iâm too stressed. Â Sometimes I need Crusoe to give me that easy-going reassurance when he says, âIâve got thisâ and know that he does. Â
There is no quid pro quo in our dynamic. Â I am not building a debt of demerits for all the times I was unable to serve him and our dynamic over the past few months. Â Crusoe doesnât keep a scorecard, I donât âoweâ him any service because I havenât been able to serve him while Iâve worked ridiculous hours. Â I will frequently say, âyou get a âspecialâ kiss for doing that (whatever it is)â â he smiles, knowing that I would cheerfully give him a blowjob at any moment. Â He doesnât need to do anything for me to happily get on my knees and take him in my mouth. The fact that I say it is my way of recognizing all the ways he steps up. Â I feel âless thanâ when he is doing all the things, but he doesnât capitalize on it.Â
Is our power exchange âlessâ because we donât keep score? I donât know, but am not losing any sleep what others think of my dynamic with Crusoe.Â
There is a give and take to power exchange. Â
We are all just people trying to get by, get through the hard spots, and enjoy the good.
Lest anyone think that we have a âperfectâ dynamic, please know that we are not. Â Crusoe is an asshole (at times) and Iâm a bitch (hopefully a reasonable amount of time.) Â
While I hesitate to bring the Bible into kink writing, there is a verse that is often recited at weddingsâŚ. The âlove is patientâ verse.  1 Corinthians 13:4
The part I like most about this verse is the line, â(love) âkeeps no record of wrongs.â
I am drawn to this verse for the idea of it â the idea what we shouldnât keep records for the things we do, and the things others donât.
Power exchange is fantastically challenging. Â What I wish is that folks on both sides of the slash would stop keeping tally and start embracing the good. Â
As always, Crusoe leads, I follow â even when heâs doing all the things, and Iâm feeling like a slacker for not doing my part.

One of the nicest posts we ever made for sccwriting, and also something we sometimes forget.
Subs are every bit as important as Dominants. Flip sides of the coin perhaps, but neither can happily exist without the other. Heads held high, subs. You are vital.
Twenty Years of Kink
I donât remember the day or even the month, but I remember the feeling vividly. I was wandering aimlessly, searching everything and nothing, then all of a sudden there it was. I couldnât believe my eyes. The things they were saying were things Iâd thought, things I wanted, things I was too embarrassed to admit to anyone. And here they were - men and women - talking about those feelings I had, one darker than the next, and giving it - all of it - a name.
D/s.
Dominance and submission.
I started reading and couldnât stop. I flitted from room to room, watching the conversations roll by, the experiences people shared with me and other anonymous faces behind a screen. They were open and honest and raw. I donât know how much time passed before I took an effective breath, but with it came the realization that I was not alone. I was not a freak. What I wanted - no, what I needed - was something other people wanted and needed, as well.
That was 20 years ago. Now I look back and cringe quite often, but I wouldnât trade those years for anything. I have a lot of âIf I knew then what I know nowâŚâ moments, but I wouldnât go back and do it again, because you have to go through it to learn it. You just do. Because your track is different than the next personâs, and to learn what you need to learn takes living it yourself.
So what does twenty years teach you? Here are some things Iâve learned:
Not everyone likes the spotlight; itâs ok to live D/s very privately
Itâs ok to make things like rope bondage and tickling hard limits; itâs ok to make anything a hard limit
Dominants can use a safeword or otherwise stop an activity
You can be the one to walk away; you donât have to be âreleasedâ from shit
Liars and cheaters will always lie and cheat
Moving quickly rarely leads to longevity
Your gut is never wrong; listen to it
Itâs ok to not look like a fetish model; most people donât
Sex can feel good even without orgasming
Squirting orgasms are a bit of a parlour trick; and they donât always feel as good as other types of orgasms
You deserve as much pleasure as he does
If the effort isnât there in the beginning it never will be
You can kneel in slip-on Converse just as well as you can in heels
You can be a kick-ass submissive and not own a single piece of lingerie
You can defer to someone and respect them as a leader even while watching Netflix and eating steak nachos with your fingers
Dominants can get sick and be huge babies and still be worthy of obedience and respect
Not every Dominant is an executive with an expense account
Submissives can make more money than their partner
You donât have to say âDaddyâ to feel it in your bones
You can love someone and not be a match
Toxicity isnât gender specific
Wanting to be wanted can lead to seriously poor decision-making
Itâs ok to demand more for yourself; having standards solidifies self-worth
Strength is a process
Self-esteem requires active management
Submission doesnât cease to exist when youâre single
Submission doesnât end when you hit 30 or 50 or 70
You donât have to do anything you donât want to do
You can change your mind
You can use your voice
You have to use your voice
Every time I start to think how things have changed over the years I have to stop and remind myself: Nothing has changed but you. Sometimes I think about that 27 year old, that 34 year old, hell - even that 40 year old, and I cringe. The mistakes she made. The positions (literally and figuratively) she put herself in. How much mental and emotional energy she expended on him. How much she didnât know.Â
How much more she still has to learn.
But Iâll tell you what: If the next twenty bring as much joy as the last twenty, Iâm in for a helluva ride. And I want all of it - every bump and swoop and whirl. The twists and turns are what make you who you are.Â
And Iâve learned to like that girl.
Beautifully said. Â The perspective looks pretty similar after 42 years in the kink scene, too. Â Itâs the path to wisdom that matters.
Nodding.
