I’ve always been someone who wholeheartedly believed in that quote “we accept the love that we think we deserve”. I had read Perks quite young and I saw the quote all round me. I saw it in my parents, my friends, my teachers and especially myself. And for the first time in my life I’m with someone who likes me just as much as I like them. Who’s respectful and kind. And it makes me think back to all the not so great versions of love that I’ve accepted in the past think that it was the best that I was going to ever deserve. I guess realising that I deserve more and loving myself truly has been the best thing that I ever did for myself. It also brought someone truly amazing into my life.
