â is that TOM HOLLAND? no, itâs SIRIUS BLACK, but i can see how you would make the mistake. this TWENTY SIX YEAR OLD CIS MAN is a member of the HOUSE OF BLACK. word on the street is that theyâre BOLD, RECKLESS AND ADVENTUROUS. i also heard that theyâre particularly skilled with KNIVES AND CARS/DRIVING. they have always reminded me of LEATHER JACKETS, BRUISED KNUCKLES, UNFINISHED NOTES. if you ask me, theyâre the kind of person who could change the game for everyone.
First born to the great House of Black, Sirius knows that he has responsibilities and expectations. Doesnât mean he cares about them too much. His life seemed to have already been planned. All perfect scheme to everything that Sirius has never wanted. He has just never understood to hype of it all. Never really knew why things had to be so stiff all the time. Or maybe he did know, he just never really cared to understand it. Thereâs more to life than the expectations that have been given to him and he knows that.Â
However, Sirius isnât stupid. In fact, heâs far from it. If he wanted to, he could truly be the perfect son his parents have always wanted. Heâs a lot like a sponge and absorbs information rather quickly and stores it but he doesnât want people to know the extent of his intelligence because then expectations would follow. Itâs a lot easier to let people think that heâs always distracted or just doesnât get it but if one were to pay close attention to what Sirius does then theyâd see the truth. Heâs rather skilled with knives as he much prefers them to guns. If worse came to worse, Sirius can fight and can hold his own rather well. Heâs never believed guns to be a fair weapon.Â
Heâs also very knowledgeable when it comes to cars. Itâs one of the few things that Sirius is actually passionate about and he figures one of the main reasons his father keeps him around. Sirius is also skilled behind the wheel. Heâs an exceptional driver which makes him perfect for quick get aways when needed as speed has never been an issue. To this day, Sirius is one of the best ones, not having a single accident and always being quick to find ways to get âlostâ when being chased.Â
School and Sirius have never meshed well. Everything heâs learned, heâs picked up on the streets or with his family. He just doesnât like the idea of tests or regulations. He doesnât like the fact that schools mostly focus on that instead of actual learning. He doesnât think he needs a degree to make something of his life.Â
Sirius isnât as stiff as most of his other family members or as poised. Heâs got a bit of a temper and sometimes can get a little reckless. Most weekends, he tends to help at his familyâs bar. Perhaps that might be why most people arenât afraid of him. Heâs usually always smiling or laughing or even joking around. Thatâs not to say that he canât be dangerous or ruthless when the moment calls for it. Thereâs rare things that will set Sirius off but if someone he cares about is in danger, itâs like a switch flips and he becomes a whole other person. Heâs a lot like a chameleon.

Regulus was never anything but the perfect, dutiful son. That was true today as well. He hadnât needed to be told that punctuality was important. He hadnât needed to be told to don the BLCK label suit that was delivered to his apartment. His preparedness was expected and taken for granted, a surety in a world where so much else could go wrong. The last time Regulus had bucked his parents expectations he had been seventeen and hardheadedly determined â they were just glad that his one rebellion hadnât expanded into more. They were just glad he wasnât more like Sirius.
Sirius, bright and wonderful and as reckless as the day was long. Regulus didnât need to ask to know that their father had laid down the law regarding tonight with his older brother. Sirius was here, and presentable, and that was all Orion could ask of him â though Regulus was sure that Walburga would have something to say about his posture. For all that Sirius can be a wildcard, Regulus is relieved when Sirius enters his space and takes a place beside him. Everything seems just a little bit safer when Sirius is in the room with him.
âIâm never wrong.â Regulus agrees, dull. âThe world would be a better place if everybody realised that.â He shoots Sirius a look, a careful arch of his brow. His brother was teasing him, and Regulus wasnât sure if he was going to properly tease back yet. âYou donât look like you got dressed in the dark for once. Well done, brother dearest.â
It was rare that Sirius was seen without a smile on his face. He knew that it irritated a lot of people in their family. Especially their parents. That only seemed to push him more to smile but the truth was that they should be happy when heâs smiling. It means things are okay. It means that heâs not on edge because if he isnât smiling then that means something happened and another side of Sirius was seen but if he was being honest, he knew they preferred that side of him. The darkness that lingers underneath that not many people had seen yet. He preferred to keep it buried. He didnât like how it made him feel.Â
âOh, my apologies. I might have worded that wrong then. Youâre right.â He looked around to make sure to take in all familiar and unfamiliar faces. Sirius has learned to always be on his guard, pin point every exit and always be ready. Despite what anyone may say, heâs learned a lot from what his father has said. Itâs just not obvious to those who donât know him. Someone else may just think he was just trying to find anyone else that he might know. His attention turned back to Regulus at his compliment.Â
âIâll take the compliment. However backhanded it may be.â He said with a half chuckle. Sirius knew that his brother was being honest with that. He had learned to read him and the way he speaks to know the truth behind his words. Sometimes he thinks that may irk Regulus but Sirius hopes that it just shows him how much he cares about his brother. âIâm assuming mother and father have yet to show though.âÂ
âI know that youâre stubborn and have ignored me when I say that I can get myself home safe.â The words came out of her mouth but Mary knew full well that she was very glad to have Sirius looking out for her. The only part that she hated was the reason why he did it. She had never wanted him to see her that way⌠to see her hurt but neither one had a choice in the matter. Same with knowing that her attacker was still roaming the streets and hiding around any corner.
Mary pushed herself off the corner and hopped off the last step before she carried herself over to him. âLuckily for me Marlene probably has something waiting for me and between the two of you, Iâd rather her cooking,â She smirked before she playfully bumped her shoulder against his. âAre you going to the thing at the hotel,â she asked and glanced over at him. âI heard whispers about it today on shift.â
Sirius crossed his arms over his chest as he started to nod as she spoke.  âYou already know then letâs skip the arguing and let me take you home.â He was particularly cautious of her. He had almost lost her once and he wasnât going to let that happen again. Never again. He wouldnât know what he would have done if he had. Sirius pushed himself off the wall and laughed at her comment. âWhile youâre totally right about that, Iâll have you know that I make amazing grilled cheese sandwiches.âÂ
He was never good in the kitchen which was strange because he did enjoy cooking but it was just a skill he didnât have apparently. Sirius began walking with her to the parking lot. He knew that walking in the streets right now wasnât the smartest thing to do. âErm, well-- I kinda have to. My father sent me a message this morning about it. Said that I didnât really have a choice and to be honest, Iâm not in the mood to argue with him.â He said with a half shrug. âAlthough, if Iâm being honest. I rather not.â Â
he liked the ministry hotel more than he really should have. itâs ornate edges and the aura of the place, all pomp and circumstances. it was the beating heart of their world, at least in London, the place where the rules and regulations of the Sacred Twenty-Eight culmunated in their power. Regulus liked the order of the place, the way that everything was perfectly aligned and perfectly organised behind the artful decor and the neutral-faced staff.
it should have been sad that they all had to gather there for this â but Regulus couldnât actually bring himself to be sad for an old man that was practically ancient. all that Flamel ever did was flood the streets with liquid euphoria, and Regulus had never even let himself try it out of fear that he would love it too much. he didnât much care that Flamel had died, and he cared even less if someone had decided to kill him. at least a good old fashioned murder might inject some excitement into his life.
he considered the memorial a waste of time, but the Black Family always had to put their best foot forward: so of course, Regulus is there. perfectly dressed, face perfectly schooled. âwell, he had a good life.â Regulus muses, voice a little dull in a way that betrays his boredom.
At events like this, Sirius knew he needed to made an appearance. Did he like it? Absolutely not. He hated these kinds of events. Everything was so gloomy and dreadful. He had gotten a message from his father to not show up late and to look presentable so for once, thatâs what he did. He spotted his younger brother not too far behind as he decided to take a spot next to him. Sirius had his hands stuffed into his pockets. Despite looking pretty decent, the mannerisms were not there.Â
He still looked a little to relaxed but that was mostly to mask the slight fear in the pit of his stomach. He knew that he needed to be more aware. Especially of those who he loved most. He knew this life came with risks but it was not one he was willing to leave behind and leave his brother alone in. Although, was this manâs death really something to be sad about? Death was always sad but he knew that he was behind a lot of the horrible things that happened that many tried to cover up.Â
âI suppose youâre not wrong. Early as always.â He said with teasing tone to his younger brother.Â
The sun was peeking through the windows and Mary MacDonald collected her leather jacket from her locker. She pulled it over sore shoulders and gently tugged the sleeves to her jumper through the opening of the arms of her jacket to get things to sit more comfortably. She tipped her head back and closed her eyes for a moment. The graveyard shift had been long, tiring, and draining. It was a miracle that she was still standing despite it all. When she was certain that she could make her body move, she shut the locker and started towards the employee exit.Â
Mary had no idea what told her that he was there. Maybe intuition from the sheer fact that this was the first time she had found him waiting. She stopped just on the last step and leaned her head forward to look around the corner with her curls bobbing around her. âYou know,â she hummed and leaned her body against the wall corner between them, âif I didnât know any better, I would think you like waiting for me to clock off.â
Sirius knew that this was around the time that she got off. He waited patiently while he swung his keys around his index finger and leaned against the wall. With the recent deaths, he was taking no chances on those he cared for most. He couldnât always be around Regulus but he tried to keep a close eye on him as well. Sirius didnât want to risk it. He had a fire inside him that he often times kept at bay but all it needed was just the right spark for it to explode. He heard her voice and then glanced over to see her peeking out and a smile tugged at his lips.Â
âMmm.. and do you know better?â He teased her before he turned to look at her now, leaning on his side against the wall. His smile widening now, âHad to make sure to get home safe and actually eat. You tend to forget most times.â He gave a knowing look.Â
