I don’t think this is the actual point. Nazis can be used as villains (they did it on Legends too), it’s making your heroes Nazis on another Earth that is … really wrong.

People are upset by the idea that heroes in one world can be nazis in another - and yeah that SHOULD be upsetting. Nazis are human. That's the problem. They're not aliens or monsters or demons. They're people. I think it's a really strong statement on choosing what kind of person you want to be in this world, on how we indoctrinate the next generation. No one wants to think that they or their loved ones could ever under any circumstances have been a Nazi, but it's not a gene you can flip on or off. Nazis aren't all sociopaths - they're normal people, and that's the scariest part.
