Of challenges & provisions
﷽
It’s hard, sometimes. When you see others having it so much easier.
They have a car to drive around, a helper to do the housework, family to take care of their kid. They have time to spend with their kid, teaching her where her body part are, teaching her to salam. Teaching her all that is essential.
While you are here, slogging it out every night and weekends, making sure the house is respectably clean. Making sure laundry is done and your kid’s bag is ready for the next day. Waking up early to send your kid to infant care cos it is a good 30 minutes away by bus (i.e. no car, so public transport, it is). And you don’t even have time to make breakfast for your husband, well, because you just have so many things to do in the morning. You hardly spend time with your kid, playing with her, teaching her, just being there with her because you just have so many things to do.
And then I reflected.
Alhamdulillah!
For the child Allah has granted me with. Her smiles and laughter He has showered me with. Her presence He has honoured me with.
Alhamdulillah!
For the house Allah has given to me to call my own. A house to provide shelter for me and my loved ones. A house in which a home is built within.
Alhamdulillah!
For the able body Allah has given me with. To cook for my family with love and dedication. To do the housework independently. To go out and seek rizq in order to help my husband financially.
Alhamdulillah!
For a wonderful husband Allah has unite me with. Who helps with the housework, who never abuses me, who bring home the bread and butter.
Alhamdulillah!
For the struggles I have to go through. For with these struggles, Allah is making me stronger, elevating my status, giving me the opportunity to better myself each and every day. For with these struggles, I am assured that I still mean something, that Allah hasn’t given up on me, that Allah still loves me.
Alhamdulillah, Alhamdulillah, Alhamdulillah ala kulli haal.
