“The works is good! Extra cheese is always good.” He said, with a playful grin, watching him start to get everything ready. Even a side of chips for the plate! That was a nice surprise, and one that Nico couldn’t help but be excited for. “It’s awfully nice of you, still, to entertain me like this. I promise to not be too big of a bother,” he replied, as he just waited for the older man to finish up so he could join him. “I’m hoping to get more muscle this summer.” He added, about being a growing boy.

“Extra cheese you can never go wrong with.” He smiled, finishing up the sandwich and cutting it like he had cut his own. “You are a guest, and I wasn’t going to sit back and eat in front of you. Really it’s no problem, I enjoy taking care of people.” He liked helping, taking care, whatever was needed. When he brought the plates he also grabbed some waters from the fridge and set them on the table. “I think you look fine, any particular reason for wanting more muscle?”

“Baby, you know I hate salami.” He smiled and moved behind his husband and placed a kiss on the side of his face. “But I was actually heading to the grocery store.” He moved to analyze his grocery list again. “Was there anything that you could think of that we needed in the house.” He smiled, loving watching his man work in the kitchen. “Also, Noah can not go hang out with his friends until he cleans his room. And we still have to sit down with Jude to see what he wants to do with his life.” He was always busy an thinking ten steps ahead.

“Aye, you should know by now that wasn’t a question but more a sit your ass down and eat before you leave or get sick.” He pointed the knife to the chair, before finishing up the sandwich. “Plus, yeah, I’d like to add a few things so we can have lunch and talk about it.” He smiled at the kiss, already fixing his husband another plate.  “You know we can’t press too firmly on Jude, he’ll decide and hopefully soon.” 

“I’d suggest you go ask them, I’m not one to have fun and talk all about it to people.”

“Nico does tend to get around” Jon said with all the affection you’d think in his voice about his younger brother as he watched the other man with a little tilt of his head. “I suppose that’st true. Just you know, the whole caring father thing is cute. That’s all.” Jon said simply with a roll of his shoulder as he peered over at the older man. “ Hey, I’m not complaining at all about the offering of food. Trust me.” He said holding up his hands slightly with a little chuckle. “I’ll eat it all. No worries.” 

“You make it sound like that’s something you don’t experience often. What about your father, what is he like?” He questioned, finishing up the sandwich and placing the plate over on the table in front of the male. He brought his own plate as well, lowering to the seat and making himself comfortable. “Hope you like it, nothing special about it but the meat is pretty fresh.” 

The older man was taking care of him, and it was something that was finding pretty cute. He wasn’t sure what he did to deserve a sandwich, after all he had just come by to see if any of the Underwood boys were home, and instead the handsome (as fucking hell) father of the house was offering him a sandwich. “I could definitely go for some turkey, I love turkey,” he said, smiling as he looked at the man going about in the kitchen. “I don’t need to eat that much more!” He was fairly skinny, but got by on his growing muscle definition.

“Turkey it is, anything you don’t want on it or the works?” He questioned, finishing up his own sandwich and place it on a plate where he sliced a knife through it. Spreading it apart and putting some chips in the middle of the plate. He started on the turkey next, plate ready as he glanced back over his shoulder. “I figure since the boys aren’t home, why not. Plus growing man such as yourself needs all the food you can get.” 

Jon just leaned against the wall as he stared over at the older man with a little arch of his eyebrow at the question.  “Anything you wanna put on it is fine.” Jon said simply with a little roll of his shoulder as he flicked his eyes down the sight of the older man. He’d come here looking for one of the man’s sons but..well, he sort of got sucked into this.  “I should eat more huh? You should see my brother. He’s like this tiny little breakable thing.” He mused, thinking of Nico as he rolled his shoulder after a moment. “I can see what makes you such a good dad though.”

“Oh I’ve seen your brother and I feel like I’ve had a similar talk with him.” A chuckle escaped him as he finished up his sandwich and started making the others. “Why do you say that? Every father figure should want whats best right?” A brow rose, few slices of meat followed with some cheese. “I just like food and most other’s like food so offering said food is being nice.” 

   “Thanks for offering, but I’ll pass.” His father was right, though - because Jude was always hungry. Hah! A smirk curled his lips. Hard salami… “I think I’m giving up bread…and potatoes.” He frowned. Jude sat up straight, and patted his stomach with both hands. “And pasta. I’m getting fat, I can feel it.” He wasn’t getting fat, but he was putting on a little weight. The gym had became part of his routine in last few months - irregularly, of course - so he built a little muscle.

The entire time he was just nodding, listening to him speak. That is until he actually finished up both sandwiches, well plates in general. He placed his down at the table following the second in front of Jude. “Yeah-” A loud crunch from the chip he just plopped in his mouth. “I’m calling bullshit and made you a plate anyway.” With a smile he sat down, another chip gone. “I think this ideal body image is a waste of time. All abs all the time is not the most attractive thing, you’ll learn that when you get older.”
